Huge favor guys!!!! Just found this old fanfic that I was obsessed with, it's called Wrecking Limits by Vyntresser. I could of sworn there was art made by Vyntresser but can't find it anywhere. And it's driving me crazy because I'm reading it and when I get to those scenes I just want to go to the art. Somebody find the art for me please 🙏.

Everyone has to start somewhere. They have an inspiration, someone whom they admire. Someone whom they think to themselves and say, “wow. I wish I could be like that.” and that’s okay--because having that drive, that passion, pushes you to be a better person. 

When I was a child, I wrote stories for fun. Yeah, they were BAD, and silly, but I kept at it. I saved them all. Then, when I was a young teen, I wrote stories that I wasn’t aware were fanfiction at the time. My roots began with Phineas and Ferb. Wreck-It Ralph. Frozen. How To Train Your Dragon. Avatar: The Last Airbender. Those movies and tv shows helped mold my writing, where I developed the world I knew and loved into something so much more whimsical and outlandish. 

But where did this drive for writing come from? I read. I sat down at my desk and read so many novels, from To Kill a Mockingbird to The Great Gatsby to The Hunger Games, to A Wrinkle In Time. I read those stories and became inspired by those worlds and thought to myself, “I wish I could read my own story someday.” 

Then, I came across a writer by the name of Vyntresser, and my life changed forever. She first found her roots by writing stories for ATLA, and even though it’s an unfinished series, it’s one of my personal favorites. I left comments and followed her and favorited every story she’s ever written, not really thinking that she’ll ever respond.   

But she did! And she was so, so grateful for all the kind and encouraging reviews that I left. And soon we became friends. Her stories became the one constant thing I looked up to every day, as she, at the time, was heavily focused on her Wreck-It Ralph sequel, “Wrecking Limits”.  

Some people say that writing fanfiction is a real waste of time. That it’s a strange, unfamiliar phenomenon on the internet created by people who have way to much time on their hands. But for me, for Tessa--and for so many people here, it’s how we found our roots. How we became inspired. And personally, the fact that it’s free is just an added bonus.  

Whatever fandom you’re in--Carmilla, Pitch Perfect, Riverdale, Supergirl--isn’t the greatest reward seeing the people’s reaction for whatever you create? And the small, tight-night community you’ve formed, become your close family? Writing and creating opens new doors and opportunities at your own disposal, and my only advice, as someone who’s been on this train for the last four years--is to keep going. Don’t stop. 

Tessa was in a jam and needed to start her commissions up again a little over a month ago, and seizing an opportunity, I asked if she’d be willing to draw me in her style. I didn’t think she would be on board, but much to my surprise, she accepted! And drew that amazing photo you see above. All the credit goes to her. (She has more talent in her pinky than I do in my whole body) I owe so much to her. 

Writing, drawing, are all talents I believe everyone has. The only thing that’s stopping you from doing so, from uploading/posting your creative art, is saying “I can’t do this”. You’re getting into your head that it’s trash, and no one will ever read it. And sure. Of course, there will be some fanfiction or art you create that get few notes, or hardly any at all. But you need to remind yourself that first and foremost, you’re doing this for fun. For yourself. Comments and kudos and likes will come as they please--and you need to be patient with that.  

Keep writing. Keep drawing. Keep creating. Start somewhere. Opportunities find themselves at every corner, and whether or not you believe it, things do get better.

Got tagged to answer questions by one EdmundGallows. So, question time!

1. Unicorn or Zombie? Which would win in a fight. Show your work and explain yourself.

I tend to think Zombie. Unless it's a Left 4 Dead zombie where it's just still living people infected by a mutated form of rabies, zombies are undead and unicorns really only have their horn for defense. So unless they get lucky and stab a zombie through the head, that unicorn will be dead. Although, there are other factors to consider, like what if said unicorn tramples said zombies, or what if the zombie is in a hoard. But we don't have enough space.

2. What is your favorite flavor pie, and what is the most recent memory this flavor stirs?

It's a toss-up between strawberry-rhubarb and just plain cherry pie, and I really don't have memories associated with pie, I think mostly because I hardly eat it.

3. Favorite smell?

I love the smell of pomegranate, which is why I was really sad when Bath and Body Works discontinued their Midnight Pomegranate line. Second favorite smell is vanilla and third is cherry blossom.

4. Last animal you petted? Name and backstory is a plus.

Last animal I petted is my cat, Salem. He's my 9-year-old Egyptian Mau crossbreed. I got him when he was a kitten back when I was 15 and we've been best friends since. No, really. He hates everyone else in my house. He follows me around, he sits in my lap when I'm sitting with my family, and he has this thing of using my head as a pillow when I'm sleeping. He's my little goofball.

5. Do you have any allergies? And if so, on a scale of one to ten, how betrayed would you feel if I used this knowledge to destroy you?

My most severe allergy is my allergy to nicotine. I can't be around cigarettes, cigars, and people who smoke them. Other than that, my only other allergy is to pertussis, which means I was never fully vaccinated against whooping cough as a child. And on a scale of 1-10, 10. I will start World War 3 over this shit.

6. Do you have any fun scars with good stories behind them? What’s the story(s)?

What the hell is a happy story about scars? What is a fun scar, even? "Oh, this is the scar from when my appendix burst! Best Spring Break ever!" Or, "I got this lightning-bolt shaped scar when some noseless madman killed my parents and then tried to kill me as a baby."  The only scars I've got are mental scars and those are not fun, nor are the stories good in any way, shape, and form.

7. You wake up as the opposite gender! How do you deal with the situation?

In all honestly, I'd go back to sleep (I'm that tired), enjoying the fact that I no longer have two big bags of fat on my chest that won't get squished between the rest of my body and the mattress. That's the one drawback to being a stomach-sleeper.

8. Your fictional crush walks into your room right now. Who is it, and what do you do?

I have far too many fictional crushes. Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth, Professor Layton, Loki, Captain America, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), Sherlock, Chell from Portal, Gwen Stacy. Too many goddamn fictional people that would make some rather inhuman fangirlish shrieking noises come from my mouth. Then, honestly, I would just hug them.

9. If you formed an 80’s grunge band with me, what would our name be?

I wouldn't even agree to be in the band until we changed the genre. Not a fan of grunge, at all.

10. Favorite animal as of today?

The cheetah. I would break all sorts of United States laws regarding exotic animals if it meant I could have one as a pet.

11. How do you feel about Steampunk?

I love the look, the style, and the subculture, but I'm not sure I'd ever get too heavily into it, mostly because it's an expensive-looking hobby. I will always admire the people who do Steampunk though. Godspeed, little nerds. Godspeed.

Civilization V. Ever since I found a way to play a no-Steam version at work, it's all I've played really. I've developed a really good strategy playing as Catherine. I still need to try it against actual human players, although it's worked well against AI players on Prince difficulty.
