This one starts strong, but gets quite bland after a while.
A late-night call from a terrified woman, leads Jim to the body of his fashion-model friend. A gripping start, with a lot of running around before the body is found and an intriguing set-up where our hero is the only one who realises that it wasn’t a suicide.
Sadly, what follows is a generic murder-in-the-fashion-world story that you could see on any private eye show.
Both Erin Gray and Rene Auberjonois are on form, and James Garner is a blast when Jim goes undercover as ‘Jimmy Joe Meeker’, but the script fails to excite at every turn.
