Hey yalls! I see G/t book recommendation lists all the time, and I wanted to submit one of my favorites:

"Made Things" by Adrian Tchaikovsky

It's about a community of Homunculi measuring six inches tall who hide in the shadows of a human city.

They can be made from basically any material: the main characters are wooden and metal, but there are others made from cloth, wax and even paper if they are unlucky.

In a world where enchanted objects can be bought and sold, they fear capture by humans would mean getting sold to the highest bidder.

But they've found a human that they may be able to trust. And the book has this journey of them learning about their origins, but in order to solve this mystery they have to trust that this human won't betray them and try to stay a secret while going into all these dangerous human-filled places.

The book is very borrowers-coded with a layer of steampunk fantasy that makes the world itself so unique ans interesting!

The Wonk's headpiece might not be cannon to the books (where it's a helmet taken from a Mandalorian cosplay) but I swear to God, Schmookie's version is cannon to my heart.
