Fuck he's annoying, and cocky. It's like if someone were to put grumpy Karadec and lieutenant Melon together.

Sure he's nice, if he wants to be. But then again, apparently he never wants to be. You haven't seen him smile once since you got the job almost a year ago. Not even a polite smile when someone from major crimes helped with case.

So when Morgan saw you starring a little too intently at him, and she asked what was going on. And whether or not you felt something towards him, you told her very politely to stop talking so loudly and that you couldn’t even if you wanted to.

But lately he’s started working more closely with the major crimes unit, he practically worked with them on every case and it made you feel weird. But you couldn’t explain the feeling, it was just like a pit in your stomach that sometimes, everyday, made you a little nauseous with the feeling that he was slowly forgetting whatever it was you’d spent months working on.

So when Morgan again asked what was going on between you two, you answered truthfully. Saying all your fears out loud, telling her that whatever it was you were feeling had to be one sided, that surely he didn’t see you as anymore than a coworker.

Little did you know, Morgan knew what you were gonna say. So when you later that night went to the bar to get another drink, Nick was already there, your favourite drink in hand. Handing it over like some awkward peacemaker.

Wagner is many things.

Good at comforting people?

Not one of them.

And seeing as you are the only one she really lets her guard down around…

She’s pretty likely to get a tad stressed as well.

And when Wagner starts to get stressed, she starts to heat up.

So, with her stress over your current state causing her to warm up and her complete lack of any real ability to comfort others in a genuinely helpful way, she does the only sane thing that comes to mind.

She throws herself around you and locks you into a hug.

Not a hug in a traditional way, no. No, Wagner would not go for something so… pedestrian, even in a state where she was concerned for your well being.

And so, you were the recipient of not only a hug where her arms were wrapped around you, but her legs as well.

This was a rather awkward arrangement, however, it was extremely comfortable.

Especially considering that Wagner was also extremely warm as well.

Not enough to be uncomfortable, but in a soothing way.

This, alongside Wagner muttering into your ear about her random thoughts and the odd factoids she knew, helped to relax you.

Did you want to know how Wagner learned the exact point at which a Void’s body is completely vaporized?

No.

Did it help you to focus on here and now?

Yes.

Were you glad to have Wagner wrapped around you?

Also yes, though your ribs were starting to creak and they probably aren’t supposed to do that.

Then again, this moment may just be worth it.

There was a… calm to it all.

Like after a storm had passed.

You liked it.

Wagner did as well, though she’d never admit it.

And so, the two of you laid there, just like that, until sleep took the both of you once more.

Your kid needed cupcakes. For a bakesale. A bakesale which was starting in two hours.

Your kid needed 35 cupcakes for bakesale starting in two hours. You were already stressed. Baby on your hip, older kid breaking down because they swore they'd told you before.

But right now you couldn't even remember if you'd brushed your teeth this morning.

Nick came in as your older kid was starting to cry, as soon as he saw your face he knew everything was bouta go down.

He knew you always relaxed when baking, but only when you got to do it alone. So he made sure you could do that. He got the baby from your hip, kissed your forehead, and got your older kid to their room to get them ready for the sale.

You'd already started doing the calculations of how much and how many of each cupcakes and things you were gonna need.

So as you baked and decorated all the cupcakes, you kept doing calculations in your head to make sure you didn't mess up. Too many times had Nick had to work or you were too tired to miss something important to your oldest.

You were not gonna leave them now, especially not when it was just a couple dozen cupcakes.

Wagner with an S/O who's cautious about being touched, deciding to simply sit on their lap to help them ease into it?

As someone who dislikes touching others or being touched without sufficient mental preparation, I feel this. Also, I definitely put a lot more of my own mannerisms in this than I intended to. My apologies Coffee Anon.

If there was one thing Wagner noticed about you throughout all the time she had spent with you, it was this.

You were meticulous.

Everything had a place.

No detail was overlooked.

You ensured that nothing was not where it belonged.

Not only for yourself, but for others as well.

Herself included.

And yet, despite that, you avoided others.

When Mika misplaced something important you were there only long enough to tell her where it was before disappearing.

You were always like that, appearing to help for as long as you were needed before disappearing as if you were never there and long before any thanks had been given.

Wagner was the only person who could truly say she knew you.

And even to her, you were… distant.

Something about you always seemed to just be beyond reach.

Could it be how you always stood just beyond where someone could reach you?

Could it be the way you never allowed anyone to get close enough to where you could touch them?

She didn’t know.

Nonetheless, she was tired of that distance.

It was only a few steps, and yet it felt like there was an ocean between the two of you.

She only ever saw you at a distance, and while the two of you spoke plainly, there are some things that could not be said in words.

Such as how you unconsciously clenched your fist when someone came too close.

How you moved your fingers in tune with a beat only you could hear when you were thinking.

How you opened and closed your hand into a fist when you were anxious.

How you closed your eyes and took in a breath when your emotions got the better of you.

She wanted to tell you things in a way similar to that as well.

She wanted to hold you close to let you know that she cared.

She wanted to grasp your hand tight to let you know she was there.

She wanted to let you know that she was, and always will, be with you.

And right now, you were doing your best to let her.

It was… stiff to say the least.

Wagner was in your lap as you sat on the edge of your bed, clinging on to you so tightly you could begin to feel your bones to creak.

Meanwhile, you had no idea what to do.

There was no plan for this.

No instruction manual.

Where did you put your arms?

Around her?

But where?

It was now that Wagner spoke.

“Usually, people hug back.”

Tossing caution to the wind, you wrapped your arms around her waist.

This was… nice.

Were you sure you were doing this right?

Definitely not.

And yet… it was not as unpleasant as you thought it would be.

You most certainly can! Though I apologize for it being short.

And you are welcome, its really a shame more people don't write stuff for UNIB, hopefully with Fighting Games starting to get a little more popular as of late and UNIB 2 coming out soon some more people will start to write for it! Until then however, I'm happy to have the market to myself!

Eventually, anyone who sees you will know that you are the most prized possession of the Fourth Executor.

She’ll go after you relentlessly.
