It's not even cathartic to complain about tourists anymore, they're relentless.
I just got to work for the night shift, and the first caller I get is an old man from Kentucky who asked to be put on our wait list in case there's a week-long cancelation later this month. Whenever we get a cancelation, we go down the liat of names in the order they called, first come first serve, so the fact that he's calling us means we don't have any openings for him (if we did, we would have called him). I look, I confirm that we have none, and then I look at the wait list and it turns out that he added his name onto it EARLIER TODAY. Like, less than 3 hours ago. Word of advice, don't keep calling a place back to ask if they've had any cancelations; THEY WILL CALL YOU.
Anyway, I tell him we're still full but will call him if we get any cancelations, and be says he'll call back later. I tell him not to, WE will call HIM. He then starts making demands, like he wants to know about the cancelation at least three days in advance because he'd rather drive from Kentucky than fly, and I tell him there's no guarantee we'll get an opening that fit his schedule. He pretend like he doesn't understand what I'm saying, a very common tactic among tourists who think everyone working customer service are illiterate immigrants who can't speak English. I reiterate as slowly as I can that he doesn't get to pick and choose WHEN we get a cancelation; we may or may not get any openings, and there's no telling when they will be or for how many days in a row. If and only if wr get a week-long cancelation that fits his schedule, we will call him to let him know, and THEN we can book him a room. To this, he responds by saying he wants a room with a kitchen.
Buddy, you'll take what you can get.
I asked him, as plainly as possible, if he would refuse a room without a kitchen, and he again pretended like be didn't understand. What I mean is, if we got a cancelation for a room without a kitchen, would you say "no thanks" and wsit until we got a kitchen, or would you take the room anyway? He told me that he LOVES staying here and desperately wants a room, but if he's gonna be picky about it then I see no point in even trying to help him. Either you want a room or you don't, you don't get to make all sorts of caveats. I can't guarantee one way or the other what, if anything, will come open, but we will call you IF we get something that will work for you.
DO. NOT. CALL. US. BACK.
In Progress/Wait List
I decided to make this just so people know what’s coming up and what’s on the wait list.

Explanation of Wait List:
This is a list of things that are going to be put on hold until the next time I open requests. This is for people who didn’t read the sign that says “Requests Closed”. (people who are unfamiliar with my blog)
Do not take advantage of this. It will be unfair to those who actually wait and to those who are also waiting on this list as well. If I’m being honest, this is kinda like a privilege thing almost. I’ve seen a lot of writers delete or deny incoming requests during the time requests are closed. So, this is my way of being nice to those who are unfamiliar with my blog.

Commissions Open!
I haven’t made one of these posts for a LONG time, but my waiitng list only has 7 fics on it which is the lowest it’s been for.... an incredibly long time! So if you’ve ever wanted to commission a fic for me, now is a fantastic time to cement yourself a spot on my list.
I’ve updated my waiting list as well as my commission information (see this page to learn how my commissions work - tumblr mobile sucks, best viewed on a brwoser). Everything goes through Paypal by way of donation or the ‘send money to friends and family’ option using the same email that you can reach me at: [email protected]
Slots are open on the waiting list (current wait time is approximately six months, so act now to avoid a longer wait later!).
Here’s a list of my current prices: Under 1,000 words: $15 1,001 - 2,000 words: $27 2,001 - 5000 words: $45 5,001 - 8,000 words: $63 8,001 - 10,000 words: $80 10,000 words+ - Will be discussed privately as it will depend on length and how complicated your story is. (All prices listed in USD)
The biggest fandoms I’m interested in right now are the MCU and the Miraculous Ladybug, but I’m also open to Harry Potter, Supernatural, James Bond, The Witcher, etc… if you’re curious to know whether I’ll write for a specific fandom, please just ask!
You can also commission chapters of pre-existing fics or commission sequels - this includes new stories in a series or expanded drabbles I’ve posted on tumblr. So that means if you’d like to see more of a fic or series that I’ve written, you can commission them!
Don’t know what you want? That’s fine too. Email me your basic likes/dislikes and we can figure something out together. I love chatting back and forth with people and coming up with a plotline that works for the both of us - some of my most satisfied customers have gotten their fics this way.
If you’re interested in a commission, please email me at [email protected] - there is absolutely no judgment, and as mentioneda bove I am more than happy to talk about potential plots or fic ideas. We can find something for you, I promise. I’ve completed over 150 story commissions at this point.
All commissions are going straight to help pay off my car! Donations and tips are also gratefully and happily accepted.
Commission Waiting List.
Hey everyone, I’ve had a lot of requests recently and I’m very excited for it but I don’t want to lose anyone’s name who has shown interest in a commission so I’ve created a form so you get notified prior to the public announcement when they reopen for a first pick.
You can find it here.
Still feeling like I’m hiding some Tragic Flaw . . .
Another clinic, another doctor, more tests, no answers
Finally had my initial consultation at my new specialist in Toronto. My husband and I spent all morning going through another round of tests. Many of which we’ve already done. But hey, why not. 🤷🏻♀️
Without going into detail, the one gift infertility has given me is a total lack of shame. I have been in more embarrassing, uncomfortable and humiliating situations than you could dream up in your worst social nightmare. So there’s that as a win I guess.
Our day ended with the exact same news we started with- unexplained infertility. There is absolutely no reason that a couple as ‘young’ and ‘healthy’ as us shouldn’t have a child. Except . . . IT’S BEEN ALMOST THREE YEARS. 🙄
While I guess it’s better than being diagnosed with a problem, it is beyond frustrating to not be given a solution. I feel like I have some hidden flaw that no one can see and I’m really great at covering up (so good that I don’t even know that it’s there).
The other good bit of news - we got added to the list for funded IVF.
The wait is about 14 months.
I’m sure the time will just fly by.
Anyone have a time machine?
