'Upsetting' new photos reveal state of derelict Waiwera hot pools

It once boasted a water slide and movie theatre - now it's deserted.

I chipped a tooth at Waiwera when I was a kid.

We went there so much.

Gotta day though, having a hot water beach again sounds way better than chlorine stink Waiwera.

Interesting new development in a story I've been following for a few years. Highly illustrative of how it corrupts us to court the money of foreign billionaires and how little it really does for our country - in this case, we've gained nothing that lasted and lost a thermal resort that everyone loved, and it's anyone's guess whether it will ever be revived.
