Why I avoided the Walkera Vitus
Yes, I have avoided mentioning the Vitus for the longest time because I know the launch videos showed it was incompetent to begin with.
The flight time, which is at a claimed 25min, has been beaten by the Mavic Pro Platinum. It is essentially the wet dream of Walkera to beat Mavic Pro in the market. Sure they have front facing sensors to detect obstacles but the side collision avoidance IR sensors don’t work well in low light or in reflective environments.
The Vitus comes with the normal claims of indoor flight capability without GPS.
The qualify of the Vitus is average, even with 4K video recording, and flight range can’t be near the Mavic Pro. Even with a RC controller, it has a range of 1.5km.
The Devo RC controller has a built in fan ducts, which is a tad worrying. Why would you want a fan unless it overheats?
I am sure the Walkera folks have had the time to rectify the faults of the launch model earlier this year, which likes to drift sideways when you want position hold, so go ahead, buy one at your own peril.
