So I'm on crutches and a walking boot right now
And I've noticed something really interesting
People LOVE opening doors for me and/or helping me carry stuff
But ONLY IF they're older people???
Younger folk tend to largely leave me alone. They dont stare, but they also dont go out of their way to come and help me
But older people??? Oh, they're opening ALL the doors, they're helping me with ALL the carrying
I feel like there's something there? Idk what it means specifically, but its noticeable enough to me that I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?
Now, to be fair, I do live in the Southern United States, and southern hospitality is the cornerstone of everything people do. However, the fact that its almost always older people is just really interesting
