not to intrude but like maybe the least usamericans could do is spread and demand attention, especially in their circles, about the things biden/kamala intend on doing to ppl in the global south. for example, kamala’s statement on financial support for israel should be absolutely going viral w people opposing it (but i won’t hold my breath lmao. expecting usamericans to care about ppl other than them is exhausting)
Yeah, that’s the very least Americans should do if they genuinely care about the rest of the world.
@ People reading: Fascist states (which the US is under any presidency, don’t try to argue with me on that) rely hugely on propaganda and covering their tracks with useless entertainment. Spread the real information.
how do you even get a following on twitter? it feels like there’s no way for you art to get noticed by people, as there’s no tagging system and all
It is a little difficult since twitter is not an art-sharing platform by any means, so here are some ways I built up my following a bit:
do art shares! they’re a good way to get noticed when you’re first starting out and for people to see your best pieces directly. the earlier you reply, the better—more people are likely to see your work if it’s posted high up in the comments. i stopped doing them after i passed 1k, but only because a good chunk of my followers are high profile and typically aren’t the kind of people to participate in them.
use 1-2 hashtags at most, and make them count. i know it seems counterproductive, but people are more likely to rt a tweet with less hashtags/words in general.
when you notice a trending hashtag, try to participate in it as soon as possible. #visiblewomen, #drawingwhileblack, #transcrafted, #artvsartist, and #facingyourart are some examples! if a fandom you like is trending too then it doesn’t hurt to drop some fanart while it does!
share process stuff! i think people really like it and it helps to keep your engagement up without having to keep everything polished all the time (like on insta). all of your polished work should be showcased somewhere else, like on a portfolio site or insta account, and it’s crucial to have a link to that showcase somewhere easy to find on your account.
that’s about it! you should also make an effort to learn twitter etiquette as well, a quick google search should give you some pointers. if anyone has any more suggestions feel free to add on!
can you expand on what you said abt your religion not having a concept of faith? i didn’t really understand but i think that’s really interesting and would like to know more! if you don’t want to, that’s okay, and have a good day ❤️
Well, faith is essentially the concept of trust and confidence in a higher power. A lot of religions do have a concept of this but may have different understandings of what it means (Islamic concept of faith being different than Christian concept of faith for example... and even variations within those wider religions). While some other religions are more of a practice than an act of belief. It’s ok that these are hard things to grasp because it’s going against the basic religion paradigm that has been taught to us. Americans especially are encouraged to have a list of things they believe in and don’t believe in and approach religion that way.
I’m first and foremost an animist and the spirits at large do not care if I believe in them. They will continue to exist with or without my belief. This is mostly because my understanding of religion is based on the natural world and the innate chaos of things we can’t know and do know or think we know. It doesn’t matter whether you believe in a tree, it’s going to exist regardless. I don’t have faith in a tree. I have faith in myself and my own knowledge and in the knowledge that I don’t know shit.
And neither do my gods! They know more than me, but they’re fallible. They can die and lead people wrong and be mistaken. Why should I trust them? Have faith in them? Be confident that they will protect me? They won’t! There are things that are bigger than me and things I can’t know and things that will happen regardless of what I believe or have faith it. But I trust myself and my instincts and my own small part in things.

Thank you for reading and such a sweet comment! They’re very lovable (and hatable. I had to reassure the Editorial Oversight Team that Viktor Tikhonov is super dead by now). I was fueled mostly by spite and some curiosity, after reading too many sports journalism pieces that I thought didn’t give enough of the story to make me love or hate anyone properly, so I’m glad you found it interesting :)
