Please stop sharing links to Wallpart.

It's a cheap domain on a default storefront template running scripts to populate its stock through Tumblr and dA. The reviews are fake, and I'll bet the print-on-demand posters they claim to sell are just run through other services. It doesn't make them money.

You know what does make money?

Selling the personal information of thousands of content creators who scramble to fill out the DMCA form on a shady site.

The DMCA, or Digital Millennium Copyright Act, is a useful tool on reputable websites to have your content removed. It is a legally binding document, and thus asks for some pretty personal information. Filling it out on a site that is created just to fish for information is dangerous.

Let the site die.

By sharing it as wildly as you are and freaking out over "art theft" that doesn't exist, you are putting. People. At risk. It's a phishing site and a scam.

Stop sending them more victims.

Hey, a good amount of you will remember that I reblogged a post talking about how my art had been stolen and put up on a shady website called Wallpart. I’ve been informed that A) this site functions by targeting the art of those who are searched through it, so searching to see if your art’s been stolen could very well make you a target of this site, and B) the website can carry some pretty intense malware. I’ve deleted the original post in case it directs people there to try and avoid either of these things, and I’d ask you to do the same! This website thrives specifically in interaction and engagement, specifically with it’s search feature. Please be careful, and remember to warn others to stay away from it. The website’s been up for literal years and it’s creator is based in Russia, so I doubt any amount of complaining about it will have it taken down. It’s likely a better idea to just ignore it’s existence so the creator isn’t able to reap any profit from his scheme.

If you have evidence that you did not give consent for your items to be posted and sold, contact cloudflare. That 4 year old petition won’t do anything. Get legal if you have to or if you can. 

Also, apologies if you do not know me and are confused why I @ you. I’m (at)-ing anyone I saw in the original post. I will miss people. Send the report abuse to anyone you know who has art up on that horrid website. Alas, I’m not an artist so there’s nothing of me up there otherwise I’d be taking them to court in a heart beat.

It starts with Cloudflare. If they’re willing to cooperate and hand over the hosting site, demand it be taken down or take them to court.  

Edit: Found out the asses behind this horrible website are supposedly in Russia so suing or taking this to court would be exceedingly difficult.

I found this to be pretty helpful when it comes to reporting malicious websites. The only issue I found is this (Quoting from website): “Engaging Law Enforcement - If you also want to report the activity to law enforcement, I recommend the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx)  Reports will be correlated and used to build larger cases.”

I’m all for it but this seems to pertain to US citizens only. I’m unsure of where others might be able to send in something to engage law enforcement for other countries. I’m asking for anyone who’s NOT a US Citizen to take a look around and link websites similar to the above FBI link. Personally I find the more noise is made the more hassle it will be to keep a malicious website up. Sadly, they’re just going to bounce their host around and try to keep afloat. Keep reporting them and see if your government has a place to report malicious websites.

Don’t go to WallPart to report stolen art/images

“The contact form is a phishing platform that is used to spam the user and potentially infect their computer with malware and who knows what other nasty adware and spyware.   “Throughout the website's existence, much of the functionality, search results, and contact forms have changed.  One day you can search for your name and find stolen images only to search 24 hours later and find the results page completely empty.  It's clear the site was never meant to run as a business and the functionality of it as a whole is pretty broken.  The site is currently hosted in Russia and has been known to change hosting domains in the past after being outed by tech savvy visitors.

“It is pretty sad to know that their are websites and companies out there like WallPart preying on photographers who are simply trying to protect and maintain the copyright on their own creations.  In today's world we can never be too sure where an email or contact form is actually sending or what personal data is being sent to a company in general.  In the case of The Poster Shop and other sites that are sure to follow, DO NOT VISIT THE SITE and give it traffic and by all means DO NOT FILL OUT ANY COPYRIGHT VIOLATION OR DMCA FORMS.  The website Change.org has started a petition to remove WallPart with over 50,000 supporters but there is no telling if the site will actually ever be banned forever.”

no sales are happening

it’s to target photographers/ artists who are featured on the WP website.

WP knows creators freak when their images are used w/o permission;  

so they go to the site to find their work

they’ll attempt to issue a cease and desist through WallPart's DMCA/Copyright link at the bottom   

that link’s one of the only clickable links on the entire page

Caution: Do not visit the website known as wallpart. It is a phishing scam meant to entice artists into reporting stolen artwork. However, the site merely uses a search engine similar to that of Google Images and allegedly does not actually sell the artwork. Do not attempt to file a complaint or report using their webpages. They will try to steal your information! If you have visited wallpart, you should clear your browser history and run some thorough virus scans on your computer. If your art is ever stolen by any source, you should always use the safe and official DMCA Takedown Notice as your means of reporting it. I apologize for any previous misinformation. Please share this updated information to help keep other artists safe.

Petitions won't do jack shit to a Russian scam website. Report the site to Goigke and to the hosts of said website.
