The thing about dating Wally West, you quickly realized, was that time worked differently around him.

Not in the obvious, speedster-way that meant he could zip from one side of the county to the other while you were still trying to tie your shoelaces. That was just... physics- or magic- or whatever it was that made him him.

No, the difference in time came from the way he made you laugh so hard hours passed without you realizing it. Or the way he filled silence with half-baked jokes, or wide-eyed stories about his latest mission with the Titans, so much that the quiet between words felt almost intimate. When you were with him, the world just... accelerated and slowed down in a rhythm only the two of you seemed to share.

The two of you had been "together" officially for just under a month. Which meant everyone around you- Dick, Donna, even Batman, though God help you both if he ever commented on it- treated your budding relationship with the amused patience of people who'd seen it coming long before you had.

It had been easy to say yes to Wally. He was warm, he was bright, he was Wally. But what wasn't so easy was figuring out what came next.

Which is why you currently found yourself pacing the rooftop of Titans Tower, the night breeze pulling at your jacket, trying to steady your nerves. Because despite being 'official,' you hadn't kissed him yet. Not properly.

"Wally?" you scolded, pressing a hand to your chest. "Don't do that!"

"What, show up?" he teased, strolling closer with that casual confidence that somehow didn't look rehearsed on him. "Or catch you having a full conversation with... yourself?"

"I wasn't-" you stopped, narrowing your eyes. "Okay, maybe I was. But that doesn't mean you get to make fun of me."

"Who said I'm making fun? I think it's adorable," he said smoothly, leaning on the railing beside you. His arm brushed yours, warm even through your jacket.

You tried to play it cool. You really did. "You always sneak up on people like that?"

"Only on the people I like." His tone softened just enough to make your stomach flip.

There it was. The thing he did- the disarming honesty beneath all the bravado. You glanced at him, but he wasn't smirking this time. He was just looking at you, like he couldn't quite believe you were there.

Your heart thumped. Loud. Too loud.

"So," he started after a beat, his voice lighter again. "Why are you hiding out here? Don't tell me you're avoiding another one of Vic's karaoke nights."

You laughed, grateful for the deflection. "No. Just needed some air."

"Hmm." He studied you, head tilted. Then, before you could blink, he darted away- literally- and returned in less than a second holding two mugs of hot chocolate, steam curling from the tops.

You blinked. "Did you just-"

"Zoom down to the kitchen?" He smirked, handing you a mug. "Yeah. Perks of dating the fastest man alive."

"You're impossible," you said, but you smiled as you wrapped your hands around the cup.

"And yet you keep me around." He bumped your shoulder playfully.

The night settled around you, quieter this time. Just the two of you, the city lights in the distance, the stars overhead. Wally sipped his hot chocolate like it was the most important task in the world, and you felt the weight of unsaid words pressing against your tongue.

You wanted to kiss him. God, you wanted to kiss him.

But how? Do you just... lean in? Do you wait for him? What if you missed and ended up bumping noses? What if-

"You're staring," he said suddenly, a teasing lilt to his voice.

Your face heated. "I am not."

"You are." He turned to look at you fully, green eyes sharp and soft all at once. "Which, you know, I'm not complaining about. I like it when you stare."

"Wally..." you warned, though your voice was more breathless than stern.

He leaned closer, close enough that you could count the freckles across his cheeks, close enough that your heart felt like it might sprint right out of your chest to try and keep up with him.

"You know," he murmured, "I've been trying to find the right moment."

Your breath caught. "The right moment?"

He smiled, softer this time. "Yeah. To do this."

And then- finally- he kissed you.

It wasn't flashy. It wasn't rushed. For all his speed, Wally kissed you slow. His lips brushed yours like he had all the time in the world, like he wanted to savor every second. Your hand found its way to his hoodie, clutching the fabric as you melted into him. His free hand- because of course he hadn't let go of his hot chocolate- rested gently against your waist, grounding you.

When you finally pulled back, the world felt a little different. Brighter, Louder. Like every atom in your body had been rewired.

Wally grinned, his forehead resting against yours. "Worth the wait."

barry allen sort of views your relationship as a cliche. you’re this beautiful, amazing model, and he’s…well he’s there. he doesn’t ever consider the fact that he might just be very handsome and also literally the flash. no, in his head your the stunning popular girl out of his league, and he’s the nerdy loser who just got lucky. and he couldn’t be happier.

and, while he’s so proud of you, and maybe feels a little ego boost knowing a model loves him, he will find any reason to worry and fuss over you. especially when you’re busy. 

you’ll be in milan for an event one night, settling into your hotel room after a long day of prep for the show. and just as you’re settling into bed, you’ll hear two soft, but unmistakably excited knocks on your door. you smile to yourself, getting up and answering the door, unsurprisingly finding barry on the other side. 

“hi baby,” he smiles, a little sheepish considering he just ran across the atlantic on a wednesday to see you. “i just wanted to check up on you…maybe sleepover?” he asks like you two haven’t been dating for awhile now. 

you giggle tiredly, letting him inside fully before wrapping your arms around his neck to hug him. resting your head on his shoulder, you smile softly saying, “if you wanted to check up on me, you could’ve called, honey. i don’t want you wasting energy just to see me anytime i travel.” 

he scoffs slightly, as if the mere implication that he might not fuss over you is offensive. resting his head atop yours, he replies, “nothing related to you is a waste. now let me take care of my baby…please.” he’ll say softly, yet you both know he’s not leaving room for you to resist. 

you two will end up on the bed, you laying back on some fluffed pillows while he sits a little further down, rubbing your sore feet. you’ve learned that there’s no point in arguing with him once he’s set on caring for you. 

just as you start to doze off, he’ll press a kiss to your ankle before tucking you in. he’ll strip down to his underwear (european hotels need more airflow for speedsters) and crawl into bed next to you, pulling you into his arms. 

he’ll press a soft kiss to your head, whispering an, “i love you,” before dozing off, as well. 

when you wake up in the morning, he’s already ran back to central city, but you’ll find some pastries on the bedside table. next to them is a little note which reads, “good morning, angel! donut work too hard today…(get it!) text me when you wake up, i love you! - barry.”

wally west may or may not have been crushing on you from afar since he saw you on an ad in the mall one day. and yeah, he was there when some villain just so happened to be terrorizing the city you had a show in. and what are the odds he’d end up saving you from the burning building you were about to have your show in? he even got to carry you outside bridal style, all hero like. in all seriousness, it was just a total coincidence, but wally wasn’t complaining one bit. once away from the chaos, he smiled down at you in his arms. 

“you alright?”

“yeah um…you’re the flash.” 

he chuckled softly on the outside, but his inner monologue sounded more like “yes! she knows who i am!” 

once the two of you got talking (and he finally set you down), you both seemed to click almost immediately. the two of you hit it off so fast, in fact, that you’d scheduled a date for the very next evening. 

and, once the two of you started dating for real, wally was even more crazy about you. he’d make sure to remind anyone in the league or any of the titans that he had a model as his girl any chance he could. and, even worse, he’d show up uninvited to your shoots all the time. 

“excuse me, can you ask your…friend to leave, please?” one of the designers would ask you as you get your makeup done. 

you look over at your loving boyfriend, giving you an enthusiastic thumbs up from across the room (where he’s stolen about half of the pastries provided for everyone). you smile softly at him, giving him a little wave before turning back to the director. 

“if i ask him to be quiet can he stay?” 

the director grumbles rolling his eyes, before reluctantly agreeing and walking away to tend to other business. you giggle softly to yourself and motion for wally to come over to you. 

“baby, they’re asking your to be a little quieter,” you smile softly looking up at him from your chair. 

he kneels down next to you so you two can be eye-level. “who, me? i’ve been quiet as a mouse,” he smiles, knowing that’s not really true. In reality, he’d cheer you on as enthusiastically as possible anytime you were posing. “besides, they barely notice me. one of the photographers almost ran into me a few minutes ago.” 

“i think that’s called ignoring, babe,” you giggle softly.
