Into Gundabad - Elf Huntress
I've begun venturing into Gundabad! I managed to dodge the initial mad rush of launch day. There are still enough other adventurers around where it doesn't feel like a single player game, but not majorly interfering with any quest objectives. After Harvestmath passed with no new cosmetic items, I took a break to reset and I've been thinking about what sort of garments an elf lass would wear into Gundabad. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of dwarven-style gear, so I opted for something a bit more elvish, but practical enough for some hard work.
I haven't used Faramir's Faithful medium set recently. It includes one of my favorite upperbody pieces with it's subtle brown/green tones and elegant silver detailing; it's elegant enough for my flashy outfit tastes, but subdued enough to reasonably adventure into Gundabad with. To bring out the bright silver trims, I added the Mordor medium gloves and Abyss medium shoes in rivendell green. The Rune-maker's Hat also adds some bright silver to the head area. For the shoulders, I went with the Shoulders of the Wall-warden for a wrapped look that doesn't add too much breadth to the shoulders and generally dyes well. Continuing with the silver/white accent theme, I went with my trusty Well-worn Dagger of Fallen Stars and Dol Amroth spear. For the bow, Theodred's War Bow has a similar muted brown with green accents to match the Faramir's Faithful set's default color.
Oh the joys of trying to set up sufficient lighting in dwarven halls... The Noble-gate area has one spot that has several light rays streaming from the ceiling, which I believe lore-wise come from the many mirrors the dwarves had set up. While I'm quite grateful that Gundabad has proven to be much better lit than Moria and I haven't yet walked off an edge, there is a personal light of sorts in Gundabad that cannot be turned off. In general, the lighting is quite high contrast and definitely wears on the eyes after a few hours of playing.
