Starlit Warrior - Elf Huntress

The matching outfit for the Starlight WS outfit.

For LOTRO's 15th anniversary, we have been graced with starlight cloaks and WS cosmetics! These cosmetics have a twinkling effect and look stunning at night time. The cloak reminded me a of the Cloak of Undarkened Skies, and has a default shade of blue that matches well with the Faramir's Faithful heavy set, so I used the chestpiece with the star detail. To add more star details, the Shoulder's of the Lady's Foresight has a star-like design and a bit of undyeable gold details. Combining this with the chestpiece in Shire Peach, we have a festive blue/gold/silver palette.

To add some more silver and gold near the feet, I used the Ceremonial Plated Greaves in the default color, and Celeborn's Circlet for a cool-toned gold. The Strong Gauntlets of the Towers also adds some bright white with gold-tones. For the weapon, the Dagger of the Eglan-soldier has both silver blade and gold details along the blade, which worked well with the rest of the outfit. Of course, I added the Light Aura, which has a similar effect as legendary weapons with no damage type.

For the matching war-steed outfit, I wanted to mix the starlight cosmetics with other silver details. The Caparison of Rivendell has fanciful detailing that complements the grandeur of the Starlit Warrior outfit. To add more silver-plate details, I used the Leg-guards of the Dead City and the Tail of the Reminiscing Dragon.

Starlight - War-steed

The new Starlight cosmetics remind me of the Cloak of Undarkened Skies! I have a couple of Anniversary outfits on the way in the coming days, but until then, here's preview of the matching Starlight WS outfit with the original Sea Star outfit.

Pearl Dragon-scale - Human Champion

My friends recently ran some Abyss of Mordath to humor my nostalgic cosmetic shenanigans, so I could finally collect a few more crafted pieces that require instance materials. Superior crafted Mordor heavy gear mixes silvers and golds for a interesting color combination that works well with some of the class gear from Harndirion and Galtrev. I especially like the gold dragon detail on the boots, so I paired it with the Galtrev dragon chest piece. The leggings from Harndirion also make use of both silver and gold.

The crafted boots have a section of undyeable violet, so to bring about a similar color in the rest of the outfit, I used lavender dye of both the chest piece and leggings as both have a default grey tint that makes the lavender look a bit darker. To match the silver of the leggings, the boots were dyed white. The Galtrev plate armour has a blueish tint when dyed white, so an alternative option is to dye the boots belegaer blue to highlight this. I used the shoulders from the same set as the chest piece to match the gold and silver.

The overall lighter palette with heavy plated armour feels a bit more like decorative armour than actual combat gear, so I used the Circlet of Lorien to enhance that ceremonial feel. The gold, silver, and lavender palette almost perfectly match the colors on the Replica of Elor 2H sword.

Inlaid Silver of a Bygone Era - High Elf Warden

An ancient tarnished silver outfit built around Fingar's Lost Scale shield from Abyss of Mordath. The scale is a warm grey tone with a pink-purplish tint near the top and a cooler blue-green tint on the inside and bottom, so the Time-worn "dirty" starter gear for High Elves was a good starting point. The silvery scales on the coat's shoulders matched the shield theme and I threw in the Reminiscing Dragon boots for good measure. The Time-worn metal trims are tarnished with age, which is similar to the bronzey-silvery trimmed  edges of the Ice Flower Crown.

At the time when assembling the outfit, this warden was still missing a javelin and main-hand spear, so the weaponry choices could be improved a bit. After the fact, I ended up using the Strong Javelin of Seeking.

I actually was taking screenshots at the ruins in the area and a rare elite (Umthul) jumped me. I suppose it's a good thing I memorized all the 2 gambit chain skills... but I am not qualified to play a warden haha...

Bird of Prey - Human Captain

This outfit was built around the feathery cloak. I've seen folks pair this cloak with the Northern Sky robes before which pairs incredibly well, but for variety's sake, I decided to try making a fiercer armor look.

I've been wanting to use the Robe of Faramir's Faithful ever since it was released years ago, but only a very small portion of it can be dyed and therefore was rather difficult to work with. The brownish undyeable parts actually worked quite well with the neutral color palette of this outfit and added some value variety in the overall outfit, which I liked. Plus the brown matches the brown trim on the owl helm.

For the wintry look, I was looking for fur-trimmed pieces. I actually never owned the Wildermore expansion until recently, so I don't have access to the rep-fated cosmetics. I originally wanted to use the Wildermore Survivor's Robe, but since I didn't have the rep, I added fur-trimmed accessories like the Ajokoira shoulders and the Snow-beast boots.

To keep the more aggressive look of the outfit, I used my favorite pair of spiky gloves. The thorny bits are also similar to the boot claws, so the entire outfit has a little bit of extra spikiness...

I specifically chose the female human model since the shoulders are broader than the female elf, but not as broad as the female beorning, which worked best with the bulkier Ajokoira shoulders. For the elf version, the Shoulders of the Northern Sky in walnut brown and the Brilliant Forest Defender's Hooded Mask in white are a good replacement to complement the elf's waif-y silhouette. It felt like both the Ajokoira shoudlers and the owl helm were overwhelmingly heavyset for the elf model. The elf version also looks good with the Coat of Faramir's Faithful and perhaps a change in boots. For the beorning version, just replacing the shoulders with the Shoulders of Northern Sky works well to maintain a balanced silhouette. The Brilliant Forest Defender's Hooded Mask is also a good choice for the beorning version for a more elegant look.
