just heard two of this fandom’s most controversial creators are both working on book deals based on fics they wrote that got a shit-ton of criticism (walshpilled and her cowboy fic that a lot of people think was written with AI, and simplyprologue, who wrote a mohabbot fic in which she wrote a super racist caricature for jack’s dead wife, which she had to delete and issue a formal apology about, and which she’s been accused of plagiarizing in) and tbh it makes me crazy that the worst people in this fandom might get monetarily rewarded for their behavior. there’s gotta be someone else out there with a better fic that isn’t weird AI racist garbage. come on people!!

This happens with a lot of people, hiding when they're called out and then coming back when it dies down.

If she actually was bullied for writing f/f relationships, that's disgusting and never should have happened. I just don't know if she was.

walshpilled being a white ass girl just straight lying all the time and then trying to earn even more online cookies for fake inclusivity, WHAT ELSE IS NEW? you people need to wake up to the liars around you. not only is she feeding you AI SLOP, she doesn't even care enough to actually write Black or Jewish women. she doesn't care about writing ANYTHING, actually. being a woman + a lesbian + generating bland and replaceable women characters in your little ai machine does the WORST possible disservice to women and lesbians, poc or not. Black friend who doesn't have social media... jesus fucking christ. not a smidge of Jewishness in the cowboy au - because it was NEVER there! WAKE UP YALL!

I think some of the hate around mowalsh is just homophobia—

this is just false, i’ve witnessed first hand a ton of mohabbot shippers giving so much love to the cowboy and chess fics on twt. i was really into those fics too and am an active member of the yuri groups online. some of the racism that was pointed out had to do with a drawing of ellis as a werwolf.

I think this blog in particular had a lot to do with the deactivation and deletion of all their work. maybe you didn’t participate in the bullying directly but there was a big platform given to pile on

If walshpilled deleted their accounts, that was their choice. My blog isn't a 'big platform'. Nothing rude was said here, just rightfully calling someone out for doing shitty things.

This is going in circles now. I won't be discussing walshpilled unless something new happens.

From what I saw at the very least walshpilled posted a drawing of her mellis monster x human au where Ellis is some sort of werewolf and Mel is a human where Ellis was drawn with very exaggerated stereotypical features of a black person and very masculine features that the actress very clearly doesn't have. Then when called out she said oh my Black friend drew it and they don't have social media. The drawing aside there's odd optics of making the Black woman a monster and the white woman the human in this au.

then she started posting all of a sudden about how Walsh in her cowboy au was Jewish despite the tens of thousands of words she'd written for that fic that never ever mentioned that. She even got anons asking if they'd missed that in the original fic! She got called out for questionable artistic choices then pivoted to saying one of her characters was a marginalized identity all of a sudden after failing to say so in the 100k+ words on ao3. I also saw criticism of the way she wrote Samira in general and that she said Samira was a "blank slate" of a character - her Samira was very flat and submissive to Walsh when in the show she very clearly has fire and stands up for her patients to the point of screaming at those paramedics. Writing her sniveling and pathetic in deference to a strong white character, female or not, is such a disservice to Samira, and frankly betrays a lot of self insert desires on the part of the author.

I was following along with walshpilled (didn’t know about the AI part, that sucks) but can someone explain how their writing was racist? From what I can remember the complaint was that she had a lot of AUs— like werewolf/vampire and the chess fic— and that she was “replacing a male white vet (abbot) with a female one” I want to understand what was problematic about her writing, because it genuinely seemed to me like whoever the anon was just didn’t like mowalsh or walshpilled and was finding as many different ways to discredit her as possible.

If anyone can explain how she was racist, please do, but unless someone can I won't be answering more asks about her.

walshpilled deactivated because ppl were pointing out the racism underlying her work, her ignorance of samira/supriya and the fact that she uses ai. people want to spin it as bullying but it wasn’t

I haven't seen anything about her racism so I can't confirm or deny, but if it is true, that's really fucked up. Hopefully she can come back later and learn from her mistakes.
