people are talking about adam’s waist here but no one’s paying attention to ronan’s big ass bicep and hand and how adam is embracing him
🇹🇷 (turkey + fish) except people wouldn’t get it on Twitter
but if they were combined do u think they would have a fish head and turkey body or a turkey head and fish body. or another combination not listed. ty in advance
hi anon unfortunately i cheated and just did the turkey emoji but now im thankful sushi
i think fish head and turkey body is more appetizing fish head is a delicacy in a lot of places in asia i ate a mackerel eyeball once but my friend told me i ate the wrong part so it didnt taste very good
fish body turkey head is funnier but i think it would die faster
I was wondering if you have any suggestions on what books or articles a person should read if they want to learn more about this conflict. I will admit, I am woefully uneducated on it and want to learn more.
hi anon! this list is taken from hannah einbinder's list she gave on beyond israelism, but i've also heard good things about these books from other anti-zionist friends and pro-palestine activists:
Being Jewish After the Destruction of Gaza by Peter Beinart (read this, very impactful as a jewish person unlearning zionism, on the shorter side)
Tablets Shattered by Joshua Leifer (beginning of the book is better for history according to Hannah, the author ends by saying he's moving to Israel, so..)
Ten Myths About Israel by Ilan Pappe
The Question of Palestine by Edward Said (incredible scholar)
One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad
Perfect Victims by Mohammed El-Kurd
is it almost time for 🦃🐟 thankful sushi
anon I’m mad you’re funnier than me … I will do this hehe
I almost forgot my Ronan for Ronan day
tbh I think a lot more celebrities (and people in general) are "liberal zionists" than most people want to think. if you're in very heavily leftist spaces online and your irl friendships skew that way as well, you will never fully understand how many people aren't leftist because the policies and beliefs seem like common sense to you. it's a bit like how many feminists and irl feminist spaces are radfem/terf sympathetic even if they're not outright supporters. liberals are always sympathetic to those they perceive as experiencing hardship, even when those people are also contributing to the oppression and subjugation of others. for example, (and maybe this doesn't hold as much weight anymore) around 2019/2020 time, when everything was kicking off with jk rowling again, the majority of older feminists I knew could "see her perspective", they viewed her as sympathetic because they could relate to her experiences of misogyny and even if they disagreed with her transphobic viewpoints, they understood her concern that women's safety would "get pushed to the side". so a lot of these same people will take the antisemitism they've seen/experienced/know about and find it very hard to be outright against Israel, even when the government is doing what it's doing, because they've conflated Israel with Judaism in their heads. Obviously not an excuse though and I hope more people come to realise that this is enabling some horrific human rights abuses, but I'm not particularly shocked about people's attitudes.
yeah i see what you're saying, i think that's especially true in older jews given the generational divide we're seeing develop between older/younger jews when it comes to israel
the tough part is the conflation of jews/israel, i think that zionists really turn a blind eye to how that doesn't actually make jews safer and can actually make it worse
