Walter Egan is a singer-songwriter known for having a one hit wonder of a song "Magnet and Steel," released in 1978, that climbed up to #8 on the pop charts. The track popped up when we were listening to Fleetwood Mac songs on youtube; the reason being, when you listen to the recording you can clearly hear Stevie Nicks singing backup vocals. After Nicks split from Lindsey Buckingham the two dated briefly, and it was rumored that Egan was asked to join the band in 1980. Although he never found great success, Egan seemed to have a way of attracting big name artists and went on to record albums featuring Buckingham, Jackson Browne, members of Spirit, and Fleetwood Mac's unsung hero, Christine McVie. I remember years ago getting this song on tape from a fellow Stevie Nicks fan and thinking how risque! Hahaha -Fast forward to her refusing to sing on “Come” for Say you will. Go figure
