All those who wander are not lost. I truly don’t know where to begin, but I’ll start with this - thank you @wanderboyspresents for gifting me and 34 incredible, diverse, smart, open, mindful #gay men the chance to be ourselves. Thank you for putting your hearts and souls into creating a dream come true. Thank you for allowing us to play in ways that little gay boys did not get to play while we were growing up. Thank you for seeing something missing and creating it. Thank you for bringing your genuine desire to make others feel more seen, heard, and understood so that we could in fact be all those things. Thank you to every counselor, camper, and #sister who showed up with their authentic selves ready to shine. Being able to exist in nature with a group of incredible men with the only desire being friendship was everything. The big rule on the trip - no hooking up with your “sisters,” and this rule truly made the trip. It’s not often as gay men we walk into gay spaces and drop the idea of maybe meeting someone romantically. This experience forced us, in a very welcomed way, to just make friends with like-minded gems. Going back to camp and feeling like a 9 year old boy pushed all of us to remember some painful trama about being isolated, alone, and different, but getting to sit and have those feelings related and understood helped each and everyone of us let go and heal that much more.
