"Natasha also already knows exactly who you are to me."
Those words hung in the air longer than they should have.
It wasn’t the kind of thing you could nod at and move past, not with the weight it carried, not with the way Wanda had said it so easily, as if it were something already understood between the pair.
like they talked about you.
You shifted slightly in your seat, fingers brushing against the side of your cup, which was now only lukewarm. “Right,” you murmured to yourself, unsure what to say.
Wanda’s gaze softened almost immediately, like she could hear the shift in your voice even when you tried to hide it. “Hey,” she said gently, leaning in just a little. “You okay, honey?”
There it was again.
That tone.
The same one she used years ago, quiet, grounding, meant only for you.
It did something to your chest you weren’t prepared for.
“I’m fine,” you answered quickly, a little too quickly. Your eyes dropped to the table for a second before lifting again. “It's just a lot, I guess.”
Wanda offered a gentle, understanding smile, with her hand lingering near yours on the table, unsure whether or not she should reach for you or pull away.
“I didn’t mean for this to feel like a lot," she said softly.
Before you could respond, the space beside her shifted.
You felt it before you fully registered it.
A presence settling in.
A chair being pulled out.
And then—
“Am I interrupting?”
Your head turned.
Natasha.
Sitting there, as she belonged in the moment, no matter whether or not she had permission to be in it.
Your stomach tightened.
“Hey,” Wanda said, her voice warming. “You’re early.” She gave Natasha a small, tight smile that looked sweet to anyone else, but you could hear the unspoken you were supposed to wait.
Natasha hummed lightly, setting her own coffee down with calm precision before sitting beside her like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“I said I might stop by,” she replied. “You didn’t think I meant later?”
Wanda gave a small, knowing look.
Natasha’s gaze shifted to you, heavy, deliberate.
You felt it land before you even fully looked up, like your attention was being pulled into place without permission.
When you did meet her eyes, it stuck.
Green. Calm. Steady in a way that made you hyperaware of yourself sitting there.
For a second too long, you didn’t look away.
And then it hit you.
Why are you still looking?
Your thoughts tripped over themselves.
You blinked, sitting up straight, forcing your focus back into something more normal, like that moment hadn’t happened at all, hoping she didn't notice, but of course, she did.
Wanda glanced between you both. “You two… already kind of met,” she said gently, like she was trying to break the tension.
Natasha tilted her head slightly as she spoke. “Twice, technically.”
A pause.
“Neither time really counted as a conversation.”
Her eyes didn’t leave yours.
"But I've seen you."
“And yet,” she added, quieter, “I’ve always found that if I’ve looked someone in the eyes properly, I’ve met them.”
Silence settled again, but this time it wasn’t just heavy; it was intentional.
Wanda exhaled softly, glancing between the two of you like she was trying to find the right balance. “Maybe we should—” she started, then paused, reconsidering her words. “I don’t want this to feel overwhelming.”
“It’s a little overwhelming,” you admitted before you could stop yourself.
The honesty slipped out, quiet but undeniable.
Wanda’s expression shifted instantly, concern flickering across her face.
“I’m sorry—”
“You don’t need to apologize.”
The words came out firmer this time, surprising even you.
Both of them stilled.
You swallowed, fingers tightening briefly in your lap before you forced yourself to continue. “I just… didn’t expect any of this. Seeing you again was already a lot, and then—” you gestured vaguely between them, “this.”
Natasha tilted her head slightly, considering you.
“That’s fair,” she said.
No defensiveness. No dismissal.
Just acknowledgment.
It steadied you more than you expected.
Wanda nodded quickly, relief softening her features. “We don’t have to figure everything out right now,” she added, her voice gentler now. “This was just supposed to be lunch.”
Lunch.
You almost laughed at that.
“Right,” you echoed.
Another pause.
Then Natasha spoke again, her tone shifting, just slightly.
“Can I ask you something?”
Your shoulders tensed before you could stop them. “I guess.” You replied, your voice wavering a little.
A faint hint of amusement touched her expression at that, gone almost as quickly as it appeared.
“Why did you come today?”
The question was simple.
Too simple.
Your breath caught.
“I—Wanda asked me to, I didn't know you were gonna be here,” you said, defaulting to the safest answer.
Natasha didn’t look away.
"Would you have still come if you did?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because the couple of times that I saw you…you intrigued me."
"Interesting."
You glanced at Wanda for a split second, but she wasn’t interrupting this time. She was watching you, quietly, like she wanted to hear your answer just as much as Natasha did.
“While that’s not what I meant. It is very good to know.”
Of course it wasn’t. "Oh well, I'm sorry, what did you mean?"
She looked at you for a second, her eyes with a knowing glint.
Natasha repeated it, quieter this time.
“Why did you come to meet Wanda?”
Your pulse picked up. feeling your anxiety rise as you started to answer.
“I came because…” You hesitated, the words catching in your throat before you forced them out. “Because I never really got over it.”
Wanda exhaled softly, her shoulders easing as if something in her had settled, too.
“Okay,” she said gently, like she was accepting that word from you as something important. Not small.
Her thumb brushed your hand again, slower this time.
Natasha watched you for a moment longer than necessary.
Then, simply
“Good.”
Not approval.
Not dismissal.
Just steady acknowledgment.
A beat passed.
Wanda gave a small, careful smile, glancing between you both.
“Then we’ll figure the rest out as we go,” she added softly.
No urgency in it. No demand for answers. Just a quiet certainty that it wasn’t something that needed to be solved right now.
The silence that followed wasn’t uncomfortable anymore.
Just full in a different way.
Like it had reached its natural end without breaking.
Wanda was the first to move.
Not abruptly, never abruptly with her, but like she was re-entering reality after holding her breath.
“We should probably get back soon,” she said, though her voice didn’t carry urgency. More like an acknowledgement.
Natasha gave a small nod, already reaching for her cup. “Yes, we should. We need to feed Liho.”
The name landed softly in the space between you.
Wanda’s expression warmed just a fraction, like it was something familiar and grounding rather than an interruption.
“He's probably already wreaking havoc at home for being late,” she added with a breathy laugh.
You tilted your head slightly. "Who's liho?"
Natasha glanced at you, calm as ever.
“My cat,” she said simply. Then, after a pause, a little softer, “Well, our cat now. But I’ve had him for years before Wanda, and I got together.”
Wanda hummed in agreement, reaching for her bag. “He’s very attached to Natasha. And very judgmental.”
Natasha didn’t deny it. "He just knows what he likes."
There was something quietly amused in her tone, but understated—as if she was stating a fact more than making a joke.
You let out a small laugh, the tension from earlier loosening just a little. “That’s so sweet. I love cats.”
Wanda looked between you both, then added gently, “You should come around sometime and meet him.”
It wasn’t pushed. It wasn’t insisted.
Just offered.
Like it was already an option that made sense.
“Really?” you said a little softer, a small smile forming. “I’d like that a lot.”
Something in Wanda’s expression softened further at that, subtle but real, like she’d been quietly hoping for the answer.
“Good,” she said simply.
Natasha pushed her chair back with calm precision, already gathering her things. “We should head out,” she said, tone even. Not rushed. Just certain.
Wanda nodded, standing as well. For a moment, none of you fully moved away, like the moment itself hadn’t decided to end yet.
Then Wanda reached for her bag, then for you, lightly, instinctively, her fingers wrapping around your hand once more.
It was brief.
Intentional.
“Hey,” she said softly, just for you. “You did really well today.”
The words made something in your chest tighten in a way you couldn’t immediately explain.
Before you could respond, she let go, slowly, like she didn’t want it to feel like a loss.
Natasha stood next, chair sliding back with quiet precision. When she looked at you again, it wasn’t heavy this time.
Just present.
“Good answers,” she said simply.
Not praise.
Not teasing.
Just observation.
Then, after a moment, she added—
“Try not to overthink it.”
It wasn’t a command.
But it still landed like one.
Wanda gave her a brief look at that, something unreadable passing
between them too quickly for you to catch.
Then Wanda turned back to you, her expression softening again.
“We’ll see you soon,” she said. Not a question.
A promise.
You nodded before you could second-guess it.
“Yeah,” you said. “Soon.”
You stood after them, grabbing your cup, bag, and breath.
The café suddenly felt louder again. Fuller. Like the bubble you three had unknowingly created popped.
Wanda reached the door first, holding it open like it was instinct.
Natasha stepped through just after her, but paused briefly, just long enough to glance back at you once.
Not long.
Just enough for you to feel it.
Then she was gone too.
And suddenly, it was just you standing there with
everything that had happened sitting in your chest.

Summary: You guys come out the closet and have lunch idk
"Who's the woman standing outside the door with you?" you asked.
You can tell Wanda hadn't been expecting your question by the way her eyes widened.
"Oh um, that's Natasha, After you graduated I started teaching a co-taught English class and well she's the co-teacher." She paused before confirming the suspicion you had earlier.
"She's also my wife…"
Your heart dropped.
“Your- your wife…You got married? You ask with a tremble in your voice.
Wanda’s smile faltered slightly as she sensed the mix of emotions swirling inside you. The joy in her eyes seemed to dim ever so slightly, replaced by a hint of concern.
“I know it’s a lot to take in,” she said quietly, her voice softening. "Maybe we could talk more about everything over Lunch?"
Your eyes snapped up at that. The thought of having lunch with her again all these years later was just too enticing to pass up, no matter how many messing feelings it brought again.
"Lunch? Are you- are you sure?" You asked with a hopeful smile on your face.
"Yes, I'm more than sure. I am positive." She reassured you with a gentle touch of her hand running up and down your forearm.
"Okay, then yes I would love to."
"great! What about this weekend at 1:00 at the cafe we saw each other last week? (a/n: Its Wednesday)
"That's perfect!"
"Okay good then it's a date." She said scrunching her nose up in a way that always made your heart melt.
Date.
"I am so sorry, but I better get back, can't leave Natasha by herself for too long with all those parents and kids out there, But I can't wait for our lunch date!"
Date. There goes that word again.
“Yes, of course, I’m sorry for keeping you for so long,” you replied, trying to shake off the rush of emotions swirling in your mind.
Wanda smiled warmly, as if she could sense the turmoil within you. “No need to apologize. It’s nice to catch up, I've missed you."
You both stood there for a moment, staring into each other's eyes. The bustling sounds from the school faded slightly as you locked eyes.
“Alright, I better get going,” she said after a pause, and you could hear the softer undertones of sadness in her voice. “But I’ll see you this weekend, okay?”
“Yeah, I’m really looking forward to it,” you replied, offering her a genuine smile.
Wanda gave you one last look, her expression revealing a mix of excitement and a hint of uncertainty before she opened the door of the janitor's closet.
You took a deep breath, calming your racing heartbeat. You had so many thoughts swirling through your head but at the same time, you felt as if you couldn't think.
As you finally turned to head out back to your car, you felt a strange sense of hope take root inside you.
You couldn’t help but replay the moment in your mind, the surprise of learning she was married mixed with the thrill of the upcoming lunch. It was complicated, but one thing was clear: you wanted to explore this. No matter how much it might hurt in the end.
The rest of the week felt like an eternity. You replayed snippets of conversations you had shared over the years, moments of laughter, and even the unspoken feelings that had lingered in the air. Each thought made the anticipation for the weekend grow stronger.
Finally, Saturday arrived. You stood in front of your mirror, carefully selecting your outfit for lunch. The end of summer's warmth lingered in the air, but a hint of fall was beginning to whisper in the breeze. You chose a lightweight mustard-yellow sweater, perfect for the transition between seasons. Its soft knit hugged your figure comfortably.
For pants, you chose a pair of high-waisted, olive-green corduroy pants that offered both warmth and style. The slightly flared legs provided a retro vibe, making them an ideal choice for early autumn. On your feet, you wore your black Converse. Always a staple in your outfits. You topped everything off with a silver chain that went slightly past your collarbone and small gold hoops that reflected off the light.
Never understood the big deal about mixing silver and gold.
And a light spritz of your favorite fall-inspired perfume, with notes of vanilla and sandalwood, completed the look, a warm scent perfect for the season.
As the clock ticked closer to 1:00, doubts and anxiety started creeping in.
What if she doesn't show?
Is my outfit bad?
Does my breath smell? You make sure to brush your teeth one more time before leaving.
When you arrived at the cafe, a wave of shyness washed over you. You spotted Wanda almost immediately. She was sitting at a cozy table, her reddish auburn hair catching the sunlight, and you wondered how someone could look both familiar and new after all this time.
You exchanged hesitant glances. The soft murmur of conversations around you felt louder than usual, amplifying the butterflies in your stomach.
As you approached, her face lit up, the warmth of her smile easing your nerves.
“You made it!” she exclaimed, standing up to greet you with an embrace that felt both comfortable and electrifying.
“Wouldn’t miss it,” you replied, taking a seat across from her.
For a moment, the air was thick with unspoken words. Both of you are unsure what to say.
Fortunately, as if sensing the tension in the air, a waitress approached to take your order.
"I'll have a hot caramel latte and a turkey and cheese sandwich, please," Wanda said with a soft smile. You returned her smile, appreciating the familiarity of her order.
Both Wanda and the waitress turned to you, waiting to see what you'd chosen.
"I'll have the same, please. Thank you."
*****************************
You sipped your coffee, the warmth seeping into your hands, trying to ground yourself. Slowly but surely the conversation began to flow just like how it had all those years ago.
It was as if nothing had changed.
As if neither had gone through drastic changes.
Yet, even as the conversation deepened, the thought of her marriage lingered at the back of your mind and the fact that they worked together. Soon within a day, they both would be your coworkers.
Curiosity nudged at you, and you found yourself leaning in.
“What’s it like? Teaching together, I mean? That must be… interesting.”
Just like in the janitor's closet, she was surprised by your sudden question.
Though she laughed softly, easing the tension. “It is, we balance each other out. She’s all about structure, while I tend to go with the flow. It makes for some creative lesson plans."
Though you were more so wondering if they shared any lunches like the two of you did;
You'll take it.
Gathering up as much composure as possible you try to sound as "mature" as you possibly can. “Sounds like a great dynamic,” you replied, picturing the two of them in a classroom full of students, bouncing ideas off each other.
"Yeah it is, we make a great team." Wanda smiled, her eyes lighting up.
"You know, I would love for the two of you to formally meet."
Your heart raced and your mind went blank.
What the fuck?
"Wait...I'm sorry, what?"
Wanda repeated herself slowly, not sure how to take your response.
“Oh, um, really? Your wife?” You stammered, shocked from the sudden/not so sudden twist in conversation. "I mean are you- are you sure that is a good idea? You know, me being me?"
Wanda smiled at you comfortingly. "Of course, it's a good idea, I mean besides you were gonna meet her soon anyway with school starting Monday-"
She stops mid-sentence playing with the necklace adorning her neck, a telltale sign
She's nervous.
"Natasha also already knows exactly who you are to me."
I was thinking your starting as a teacher at nevermore (reader is a werewolf) and because they're living on site they only communicate with their husband through texts and stuff. They try to set up a date between the two of them but are denied over and over again, eventually they have a private meeting with Larissa to discuss how they're doing at the new job and they kinda just start rambling about it? Idk I just want comfort from tall pretty lady lol <333

As the school bell tolled, signaling the end of another day, you sat in your cozy but cluttered classroom. A stack of ungraded papers loomed large on your desk, along with the impending full moon later tonight, but your thoughts drifted elsewhere.
You glanced at your phone, hoping for a message from your husband.
Adjusting to this new job had been a challenge. Each day was filled of bright-eyed students and the unique quirks of teaching supernaturals with diverse powers. However, the real difficulty lay in living on-site while juggling a position that consumed most of your time.
While you tried your best to stay connected, he did not seem to return the same courtesy.
“Hey, love. Can we set a date soon? I miss you.”
Pressing send brought a mix of hope and anxiety. You often found yourself daydreaming of evenings spent together candlelit dinners outside under the stars or cozy nights in. But those moments had become nearly impossible recently, with the chaos of your teaching schedule and the everyday hurdles of werewolf life creeping in. It wasn't long before your phone buzzed.
“I’m busy at the moment. Let’s try again soon?”
Another letdown. You sighed, feeling the weight of disappointment settle heavily in your chest. You needed support and just wanted to share how your day went, stresses, and laughter with someone, anyone at this point.
As the days rolled on, this pattern continued. Text messages flew back and forth, filled with brief exchanges and promises of plans. Yet, the long separation gnawed at your heart, leaving you feeling lonely.
With a mountain of overdue papers to grade, you knew it was only a matter of time before Larissa Weems, the headmistress of Nevermore, summoned you for a private meeting.
You entered her office, nervously adjusting the collar of your shirt. Moonlight combined with a small table lamp lit the room. “Thank you for seeing me, Headmistress.”
“Of course, darling. And please call me Larissa when we're alone,” she said, gesturing for you to sit. Her voice was smooth and inviting.
“I wanted to check in on how you’re adjusting. Teaching at Nevermore isn’t a small feat, especially for someone new.”
“I appreciate that,” you replied, warmth flooding your face at the pet name. “It’s been… a challenge, but nothing I can't handle. The students are incredible,” you said with a small smile.
Larissa nodded, her expression thoughtful. “It’s okay to feel that way. It’s a lot to manage. I can’t help but notice you’ve been distant. Is it the job, or is something else troubling you?”
You hesitated, weighing your words carefully until finally, the dam broke. “It’s my husband. I've been trying to set up dates, but every time I try, something comes up. I just feel distant from him, and I didn’t expect it to hurt this much.”
Larissa leaned back in her chair, her gaze steady and warm. “Distance can be a heavy burden, especially when you're trying to maintain a connection with someone you love. It’s completely understandable to feel lost among the chaos.” She allowed a moment of silence for you to absorb her words before continuing. “You know,” she said, a playful smile dancing on her lips, “there are other kinds of connections that can help fill that void. Sometimes, a touch of companionship is just what one needs.” Her eyes sparkled with mischief, hinting at a deeper meaning.
As you blinked in surprise, Larissa leaned slightly forward, light creating shadows that danced across her elegant features. “I admire your dedication to your husband, truly. But don’t forget to nurture yourself as well. You deserve someone to lean on, someone who can brighten your days… perhaps even a charming headmistress.”
You felt a flutter in your chest, a mix of comfort and thrill at her flirtation. “Larissa, I—”
“Look, you’re a remarkable person, and it’s only natural to crave connection. Life can be overwhelming, but it’s important to embrace all the experiences that come your way. Don’t be afraid to let yourself be cherished, even if it’s just for a moment.” With that, Larissa’s fingers brushed against your hand, lingering just a second longer than necessary.
“You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to seek out something or someone that brings you joy.”
Your pulse quickened, caught off guard by the soft intensity of her words. “I’m trying to figure everything out,” you replied, feeling both reassured and intrigued by Larissa’s flirtatious words.
“Just remember, sometimes the heart knows exactly what it desires, even when the mind hesitates. And if you ever need a listening ear or some special company, you know where to find me.” She said with a wink.
