he was slowly becoming her shadow. half convinced @wandyrlust was following her about, but then that would be crazy wouldn't it? then again, young woman is convinced she is going crazy. her imagination playing awfully cruel tricks on her lately. perhaps it was a delayed reaction to the grief of losing her father. who knew? all she knew was that she didn't want to sit too close to him. he didn't make her skin crawl, he made her feel like every nerve ending was on fire. like her body was about to combust and she would be turned to ash.

11. What do you know now about rp that you wish you knew when you first started? i think i have finally learned how to distance myself from it - when i first started, i was a teenager who was looking for an escape, and who was looking for a sense of belonging that i lacked in real life. so i attached way, way too much, and used it in place of a social life. it meant when there was drama happening, i couldn't filter my actual feelings from my muses. now, i can just turn off the computer, or remove myself from triggering situations, and i wish i had learned that years ago.

15. How has rp changed you personally? oh god, straight up, it has been good and bad. it has made me a better writer and given me a creative outlet. but it has also given me a lot of battlescars and emotional trauma from friendships that didn't end well, a long time ago.

29. What is your opinion on “reblog karma” and do you practice it? i'm someone who never minds what people reblog from me / doesn't expect anything from it, so tbh i get why people set boundaries with it but i personally have none, if that makes sense.

35. Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own? i read a lot of other writing on the dash tbh. you're all too talented to not read it - it's like fanfiction but better hgjsdfhkgjhdfg.

     the sincerity in his words had her heart clenching. “i know, and if this was any other situation i would have you by my side. but their families deserve to hear the news of their fallen from me, just me. i don’t think they would appreciate your hulking presence while i tell them their loved ones have died.” over the years the valkyrie unit had grown bigger, nesta and emerie had convinced a good amount of female illyrians to join. there was still discontent among their families and others in the camp, believing it is not a female’s place to fight, and resenting nesta because of it. they never liked her to begin with, had feared her from the start, calling her a witch and to hide the children away from her. nesta convincing the females to join her only furthered their hatred for her. and she was okay with that.

     that hatred and resentment is what nesta was counting on when she would meet with the families later today. perhaps it was her way of punishing herself because she always blamed herself whenever she lost one of her valkyries. the screaming, the names she would be called, how they would lash out at her, she would take it all because she believes she deserves it. the guilt, the loss, the sadness, she felt it all too deeply. deep down she wanted their families to rip into her. which was why cassian could not come. if they saw him with her they would still scream at her, but they would water it down, wouldn’t cut her as deeply as they would with him not there.

     her leathers were dirty, blood speckled her skin, but she sat beside cassian and took his hand into her’s. she needed his sturdy presence, needed to touch him or she believed she would crumple up into a mess on the floor. “i don’t know how you have done this for centuries. i don’t think i’ll ever get used to this, to undeserving deaths and telling their families...i can’t imagine it ever gets easier.” swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat she squeezed his hand tight and looked up at him. “you can’t come with me, but i’m going to need you when i return tonight.”
