I've seemed to lost the name in my bookmarks: LWJ is living with WWX post-canon but is anxiously wondering when/if WWX will leave, since WWX never unpacked his bag and the Jingshi is clean and tidy. It ends with them talking it out and the Jingshi showing signs of WWX living there too :) ... ... Hi just wanted to let you know I found the fic I was looking for-about how LWJ worrying that WWX wasn’t unpacking despite living together. It was “Take Root, Come Home” by piecrust.

Rec: I just read 'I is for Instinct' by beeswaxing and I loved it! It's an alpha/omega modern era AU and it's very funny and cute and tongue-in-cheek for most of it with some angst towards the end because WWX is always gonna get himself into trouble, but (speaking as someone with high anxiety) it's manageable. Other than that it is such a fun read. Bonus - Madame Yu and Lan Qiren being chill and good friends.

“You had undiagnosed pneumonia, which you walked around with for weeks until you passed out during dress,” Lan Wangji corrects him. “It got a big laugh, until everyone thought you were dead.”

He keeps his voice even and does not tell Wei Ying that it had been Lan Wangji who caught him, who called the ambulance, and who rode with him to the hospital, where he was yelled at by nurses who wanted to know why he hadn’t noticed that Wei Ying couldn’t stop shivering or string proper sentences together.

“Rumors of my demise have been vastly overstated,” Wei Ying says. “Anyway, I’m already feeling much better. Basically fine. Really almost completely back to normal, so stop babying me and tell me why the fuck you let your stupid brother hire the worst man in the world to host our show.”

I would like to rec The End of Akira by akaidemic. It's a dystopian future AU from lwj's pov. He gets selected for the "equal life initiative" where two people enter a room and have to decide among themselves who of them gets to live. What got me about this fic was a) excellent writing that felt almost dreamlike, b) budding feelings between wangxian in an absolute worst-case scenario and c) an ending that left me in tears. (Warning for major character death and what is at best a hopeful ending) [Looks deliciously painful!]

@aliasblack73:  I wholeheartedly recommend Brilliant Mistake by brooklinegirl. I just read it and my heart is full of how romantic and softe it is. The gist is that modern au WWX gets hit with sex pollen curse, LWJ helps him out, but the curse also makes WWX pregnant. It honestly has much less angst than you would think. There's pining, but it's gentle, with the circumstances sweeping them along like a wave to their inevitable conclusion.

Summary:  Wangji settled Wuxian down before sitting himself next to him and handing over some lettuce leaves, before carefully grabbing two of the braver rabbits, one black and the other white, and setting them in Wuxian’s lap. Next to him, Wuxian cooed as they ate the proffered greens. Wuxian used his free hand to scratch at the white one’s ear. Huddled in his lap, the white rabbit allowed the black one to take most of the food, occasionally pushing more towards it. He sighed contentedly when Wangji settled closer to him. Bodies pressed together in a sort of familiarity that spoke loads of the trust Wangji held for Wuxian.

The casual comfort between them always made Wuxian’s heart swell. As always, he was reminded of how fortunate and lucky he was to have Wangji on his side. Wuxian lifted his eyes from the bunnies in his lap to the man next to him, watching as he fed the other bunnies. A feeling bubbled in his heart, a brief thought of I want this always, as he settled back a little more comfortable.

His efforts to free himself accidentally send him back to the beginning of the Sunshot Campaign. Coreless but armed with demonic cultivation, knowledge of the future and his wits, Wei Wuxian takes advantage of this opportunity to come out on top of both the war and its aftermath—before either has a chance to happen—by marrying and swiftly burying the cultivation world’s worst men.

Lan Wangji is confused, hurt, and uncomfortably aroused by Wei Wuxian’s improbably elaborate series of Sect-themed bridal negligees.

*** Mojo’s Note:  Does this have a wangxian endgame, does anyone know?  How much focus is on the other wwx slash relationships? It looks safe for a wangxian shipper, but I’d just like to be sure.

ETA:  [possible spoilers]:  @sleepyandweepyandtired says it is definitely wangxian endgame and tbh pretty wangxian heavy even when wwx is technically off black widowing other men. It's also pretty hilarious.  Oh and the other "relationships" ... really aren't. They are blatant political manoeuvring (and unconsummated). ***

Summary:  To say that he runs to his car would be incorrect, as he is a Lan, and running is both undignified and unnecessary unless in immediate danger. Nor does he slam his key into the ignition, or aggressively swerve around the cars on the freeway, or have a mild panic attack at the fact he is picking A-Yuan up late from school for the first time ever.

He comes close, though.

By the time he arrives, it’s 4:35PM, and he has imagined about fifty different worse-case scenarios. The door is partly open when he gets to it, a messy label of 104B—Art Room scrawled with chalk on a placard next to the faded wood. As he opens it fully, he expects to see a wailing, terrified child, or perhaps a scene of utter misery and betrayal.

What he finds is his son, hands covered in paint, being sung to by a beautiful, dark-haired stranger.

“Ducks live in the pond, yellow ducks, happy ducks!”

Have you read Teach Me The Ways by likeafox? If not, I highly recommend! It features Rogue Cultivator Wei Wuxian, trope: sex lessons (but by secret virgins), and healthy doses of humor and romance and family feels.
