Some love just gets too strong it destroys everything. Like mine for you.
Madalas, kung saan tayo nasasaktan. Doon din tayo masaya.
We are not shining stars || Deadcat
It was dark, the lights that brightened the basketball courts were on casting her half in shadow. She had her feet up on the bleacher row below her, her knees up to her chest. Her broken and bruised wrist laid on her knees as she hugged herself with her other arm. She continued to look from one side of the courts to the other, looking behind her every so often as well. Her phone was in her good hand, she kept constantly checking it just in case someone else tried to get a hold of her or Wade did. The cut on her forehead had dripped down on the screen of her phone and she was shaking too much to try and wipe it off.
Her head was killing her but she hadn't shifted back to her normal blue form like she normally did when she got hurt. Along with the gash on the back of her head her clothes were torn in places, there was a deep bruise on her cheek and a cut above her eye that had dripped on her phone. Both her wrists, apart from the one that's broken, had rope burn on them. She was too afraid to shift back to blue, they had already spotted her when she didn't look like a mutant.
"Wade, hurry." She muttered looking around. It took a lot to scare Vanessa, but she was royally frightened now. She hadn't heard them, they had caught her off guard. It wasn't so much that they had ganged up on her that frightened her, she had taken on more and bigger guys than them. It was mainly their words, the fact she had never really fought anyone who was specifically out to get her for their own reasons, not just for money or because a higher up told them to. They wanted her dead, but they didn't want it to be a clean quick kill; they weren't going to make sure it wasn't quick.
She took a deep breath, the back of her hand reaching up to wipe at her face. She couldn't be crying when Wade got there. Her eyes scanned the dark around the basketball courts, for a moment wondering if it would be better if she went to the center of them, at least she would be under more light and he could see her better. Then again if the three who had got away from her were still out there they could see her better. She finally couldn't stand it any longer and dialed Wade's number. She held the phone up to her ear only to hear his ring tone coming from somewhere in the distance incredibly close.
"Wade?" She asked looking around. She was attempting to keep her voice as stable as she could. She didn't want him to see her cry. She didn't want him to hear the fright in her voice or how it shook. She had to be okay for Wade. He couldn't see the bad. She had to put on a fake smile and pretend she was fine.
