War Reports|| Ophelia & Crispin
It had been a long day; his head was pounding from the influx of visions. Though their powers did not work on each other he knew with this overflow of sights that Silas was up to something. Rubbing the bridge of his nose he swatted away the girl that knelt before him, he didn’t want to be touched right now. He needed to know what was happening in the field and he was awaiting his top general for news. Men had gathered in his chambers to speak but the moment the door opened and she came inside Crispin gave a wave of his hand. “Leave us be.” His voice was deep and firm but there was no mistaking the strain. Glad she had arrived for he truly hated when his men gathered and crowded him. It was one more thing that differentiated him from his brother. Where Crispin didn’t want to be a god his brother was of the belief he already was one. In some respects he knew with powers they had some might see it that way, but Crispin also knew the truth about Silas. Silas was nothing without the women and their powers that surrounded him. Sure he could manipulate reality, but he couldn’t see the future, he couldn’t control the weather and he certainly couldn’t control the minds of the multitudes.
As much as Silas wanted people to bow down and worship him when stripped of those same people he was nothing. Proving that to those people was Crispin’s ultimate goal. Of course that made him just as power hungry, but he firmly believed that as long as he didn’t take it to a godlike attitude he was the better brother. Standing up he motioned for Ophelia to join him by the fire orbs, the sparking sound would drive out any noise. He had two missions from her he needed reporting on. The first was of course any news from the fields, for he knew Silas was gearing up again. The second concerned a more personal matter as one of the residents had run away. As if that wasn’t bad enough it was a female which meant a loss of power, but it was more than that, and not something anyone but Ophelia knew. The reason for his concern was the fact that Cohen was his son, though their relationship was anything but paternal, he wanted to make sure this didn’t come back on him. Cohen had to work his way up the ranks, like everyone else, and then one day he might take Barron’s position, but until he learned to keep his dick in his pants he would stay right where he was. Crispin had to smirk at the thought, for Cohen was very much like himself in that regard. “Any news from the field and of the other matter I asked you to look into? Is the girl truly gone?”
