First of all, I just recently discovered your fic Under Good Regulation and I"m absolutely, head over heels in love with it, it's sooooooo good!!!

Now for the asks, technically I want to know more about all of them laskjfsk but I am eyeing the Collected Good Place Notes because that sounds fascinating and am also dying to know more about A Christmas Carol!!

My Good Place AU, What We Owe To Each Other, is pretty silly, but was fun to write. I'm not sure if I'll be updating it again, just because my plans for the plot weren't going in a specific direction. I will share that Mythal was going to be the Judge, and Simone was going to be a different Inquisitor who fell in love with Cullen, a Lavellan!

I can share a little snippet from the Christmas Carol AU that @empresstress13 and I are very behind on, The Chain I Forged in Life! This one, we're hoping to one day finish :)

“The third spirit, I presume,” Solas said. It made no indication that it heard him. “Past. Present. Do you pretend to be Future, then?” He shook his head, folding his hands behind his back. “We both know spirits of Future do not exist. If Fate were fixed in such a way that we could see a pattern, then my people would have never lost their empire.” There was no response. “Even if one did come to exist,” Solas continued slowly, allowing that there were more things in the Fade than he could possibly catalogue, “then such a spirit would only be able to make predictions. Nothing is writ in stone. Any vision you wish to show me, however dire, is but one of many possible paths. I will not be swayed by the illusion of shadows on a wall.” The spirit simply hovered. Solas sighed. “I see. You will not be persuaded. Very well, then.”

I just binged your Jane Austen x DA fics and I am absolutely feral right now. First I just want to say that I absolutely ADORED every word. I cried so many times while reading and there were times I just wanted to reach through the screen and throttle people, which is how you know if a fic is truly exceptional.

When I read that you might be planning a Veilguard sequel, I knew that I had to come and ask. What are the chances of a Crow!Rook x Lucanis romance to Persuasion?

Either way, I'm very excited to read any further entries in the series and will no doubt continue to enjoy your work immensely.

i am absolutely playing around with some ideas for a Veilguard sequel! perusasion is earmarked for something specific, which will require a little bit of elbow grease on my end, however i AM looking at Emma for a mourn watch rook with emmerich at the moment? details TBD, i have to play through about 80 more times because that is how i do video games haha

Of course! Thank you for the ask! I'm still in very early rough drafts so how this information is presented might change, but I am enjoying what I have so far.

If someone had asked who Eli considered family, however–that spot was reserved for the young lady who’d found him. Myrna Taylor was a sixteen-year-old apprentice when she discovered him in the Vault of the Beloved. There could not have been a happier accident. Myrna came from a Southern family that no longer considered her their daughter, and in 9:28 Dragon, she was ready to love and be loved. She adored the child for adoring her. In affection, she fell only short of a mother. She was always on hand to dry Eli’s tears, and to hold his hand–to delight when his magic manifested, and to comfort him when nightmares followed shortly thereafter. 

One could even say that the only fault in Myrna’s fostering was her youth. He may have been a child, but she was not much more than one. She wished to be his friend. It led her to indulge him. She did not falter in instruction; she made sure he had strength, courage, intelligence, confidence, and charm, yes–but either his nature or her gentle hand had also made him prideful. Arrogant.

In short, Eli thought very highly of himself, and was used to having things his own way.

Last show: A better glimpse into what I've been watching the past couple weeks is probably youtube videos? so I'd say this Xena: Warrior Princess retrospective, or this interesting video essay about writing voices, comparing two articles about two influencers (some trigger warnings for darker themes in the second one)

Last thing I internet searched: "mantua maker" - from a book I was reading. Apparently a mantua was a stylish article of clothing that women in wore in 18th century Europe!

Current obsession: I'm smack dab in the middle of a Jane Austen phase, which happens to me every 3-5 years (hence, "mantua maker")

Writing Tag Game

five things that show up in your writing…

Crossovers. I know that on Tumblr, most of my mutuals know me for the Jane Austen/Dragon age stuff, so this might feel like an obvious response, but honestly, I have been trying to smash together two plots like peanut butter and chocolate since I was a wee bab. I used to rewrite the lyrics to Sondheim plays to be about my high school friends and our hot gossip, with a focus on Into The Woods and Assassins. I have had a modern queer Persuasion on the backburner since I was 20. I just really like having two structures to play with, I guess!

Dialogue. Partially because I'm a chatterbox, and partially because I don't trust my prose lmao

Humor. Nothing is sacred. Mankind has not yet created a piece of media that I will not sacrifice for the bit.

Unresolved endings. I know, I know, this is very frustrating. And I do not mean unfinished fics, though I certainly have a few of those hanging about. But I do like writing happy endings, I just also like there to be things that are not fully tied up neat with a bow. To me, even if you are not planning on writing a sequel, it's more satisfying if the characters are only ~90% happy and settled because nothing ever really ends.

Changing Relationships, both platonic and romantic. I really like to look at differences between people and how they interact with each other. I enjoy exploring the chemistry! Even when it's a bad kind of chemistry! I like the BOOM!
