Back to positivity, Headcanon time:
When Kratos and Freya officially become an "item" and get romantically involved but don't quite know where they stand in their relationship or each other's lives Kratos is considering proposing. He tentatively hints at his intentions to Atreus whilst Mimir already knows anyway since Kratos is canonically terrible at hiding his feelings for Freya (especially from Mimir).
Cue Atreus and Mimir having a conversation about that when Kratos is brooding someplace else and thinking on how to propose. When Mimir asks Atreus how the latter feels about his father potentially marrying Freya (since realistically that would make Atreus at least mentally struggle with the idea of his father remarrying, even if it'll have been years since Faye's demise) Atreus would respond with "I trusted her with my life, I trust her with my dad". It would be the most adorable Freytos/Atreboda parallel.
