Impending Evening || Self-Para
Charlie didn't really know what she was doing anymore. She'd "canoodled" with Lynn just a short while ago and now here she was, Warren Porter's date to the Black and White Ball. A dance that she was planning on going to with Lynn before everything fell through and their relationship buckled under the stress of the games and a few hidden truths. The blonde looked herself over in the mirror. She knew she'd changed since she got here, whether it was basically losing her sister all over again and being told there was nothing she could do to convince her to come back or having her main support ripped out from under her because of a multitude of reasons and then being told that even if she wanted it again, Santana would basically disown her. Charlie had turned into things she had fought to stay away from. She wouldn't be her mother. She wouldn't be the deserter friend. She wouldn't be the one to consider dating someone who was basically a drug dealer. And yet, aside from her being her mother which had already happened twice before she even found herself in Hazel Run, she'd found herself in all those situations after this move. Her head and her heart and her philosophies all collided and meshed together into something she couldn't read for herself anymore. She thought herself loyal… but loyal to who? Not Monroe. She'd abandoned him. Not to Santana. She made out with the enemy on that one. Not to Lynn. Her thoughts always drifted towards her being a guilty party. But if she was being honest, maybe she was loyal to Lynn. She'd let her into her home easily at the hint of an issue and nursed her back to health (with her mouth). She tried to help her side in her fight with Santana. She'd held her in the library as she was hopped up on pills. If she was really being honest with herself, she was practically Lynn's golden retriever rescue dog or something.
The knock on the door broke her from her thoughts and she opened the door to see a very dapper looking Warren Porter smirking his usual cocky smirk. "Hey fish-muncher. Ready to go put in an appearance at this thing?" Don't ask Charlie why she agreed to be his date, all she knew was that he wasn't so bad and that Lynn would be at the dance as well. Hopefully Lynn wouldn't have someone on her arm, but then again, Charlie couldn't tell these things much anymore. There were too many layers all smooshed ontop of each other. "Ready as I'll ever be, I suppose." She offered a small smile as the shifter offered her an arm to escort her to the Ball.
Warren on the other hand, knew exactly why he'd done this. He was trying to mend the two lovebird's paths so that they intertwined in the future. Plus, Charlie was hot and he couldn't take his first choice due to "appearances" or whatever, but there was no harm in bumping into her at the dance with a hot date of his own and starting up a little fun on the dance floor, whether it be actual fun or his own special brand of chaos. "You look beautiful by the way. I'm sure Lynn's going to drool all over you." Charlie chuckled and rolled her eyes, not even arguing with him on who she was dressing up for. “Thank you, you look rather nice yourself.” The optimist in Charlie was peaking out as she pushed all thoughts of tonight going poorly out of her mind. Hopefully she wouldn't be let down.

The blonde had called out of work for a few days, she'd had those saved up for a rainy day (with Lynn) but she figured now was the right time to take advantage of them. She could already tell that news was starting to spread about her, looks she got, whispers that went around. She didn't want to go see Santana and Monroe, because she felt like she'd only add to the drama and she was no use to them when she was in a post-break up mood. Monroe had mentioned Mason in his last text and Charlie knew he'd be in good hands. She frequented the beach, although the otter people saw scurrying around was a lot less playful than before. She mostly went out into the water to think and get away from everyone's thoughts and looks. And when she wasn't in the water, she was usually unapproachable in her curled up position reading a book and trying to get her mind off of the dhampir that had hurt her.
Tonight was the third day of her mini-vacation. Fourth day since the beak-up. She sat out by the water, looking at the waves as her mind wandered to the campfire and how great Lynn had been all snuggled up during it. God, it made her so mad. Why'd she have to go and ruin it? Assume things about the blonde that weren't there? She sighed, playing with the sand next to the towel she was sitting on. "Well, that's not the smiling otter hottie I seem to recall seeing." She glanced back to see Warren walking towards her, smirking his usual smirk.
"Yeah, well, I'm not all that pleasant lately." She sat back on her hands looking up at the tank top clad kanima.
"Angsty. Hot."
"Right. Sure." She snorts and he sits himself down next to her. With Lynn technically on the outs, he could sample the otter without too bad of a backlash, but to be honest he was a little worried for both of them. Despite how it was working in his favor for them to be kept apart.
Warren sat himself down next to her, "What happened between you two anyways?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"You found out, didn't you."
Charlie looked over at him and nodded, "Yeah, I found out. But I kept telling her I didn't care about what she did, I was mad at her for lying to me."
"Yeah… she's got a bit of a thick head, but she'll come around. You two'll be back together soon enough."
"Doubt it." The otter grumbles, "I don't think I can get over her lying to me."
"True… But maybe you can get over it by getting under someone else." He wiggled his brows at her, leaning over a bit more. "I mean… You did say I was a knock off."
Charlie laughs, "I don't know if that's helping your case, Warren."
"Got you to laugh though." He grins, his hand moving up onto her thigh.
For some reason she doesn't move it, maybe she did want to get back at Lynn. Hurt her like she'd hurt the blonde. Plus who knows what else she was keeping from her? She could've fucked plenty of people while they were "dating."
Whatever reason, it gives Warren enough confidence to press further, his lips moving to capture hers. Charlie's arms wrap around his neck as he continues adjusting himself to get more comfortable with their position. His hands move along her bathing suit clad body, making her shiver slightly. She knew it was wrong. It was Lynn's friend, but she just needed someone to want her and fight for her. Not someone who just brushes it off and tells her she knew what she was getting into. Warren was having a similar dilemma. Charlie Fabray was under his finger tips. Finally. But somewhere in his head, he knew it was wrong. Most of the time he chose to ignore that reflex though. The shifter started undressing the otter, getting her down to what he saw at the bonfire. Definitely hotter up close. His hands roamed her body, touching and squeezing to feel every inch of her. He'd won. So why did he feel like he lost? Her hands tugged his shirt up over his head, before they tugged down his swim trunks. Her eyes taking all of him in. He was hot no doubt about that, but he just wasn't…. Lynn. With that thought, the blonde tried to get back into it, hands running down cut abs and grasping him in a way that made Warren moan and buck his hips into her hand. She was trying to not think of Lynn's moan as his escaped, her hand working on muscle memory from a long time ago rather than her paying attention. She wanted to not remember what Lynn's body looked like in the exact same position above her, but it wasn't working.
On Warren's end, he found her to be all that he thought she was. And in any other circumstance, he would've been happy receiving this foreplay and leading it right into sex, but guilt washed over him like a cold shower and he couldn't. He grabbed her hand, "Charlie…" The blonde's eyes snapped up into ones that were unfamiliar. "We can't…"
The blonde's brows furrowed in response, "This was your--"
"Yeah I know. I just realized I couldn't do this to Lynn. Not this time, anyways." He pulled his shorts back up and sat himself down next to her. It was a war in his head, one side telling him he was stupid, that was his chance, and the other side commending him for being a good friend.
The otter snorted slightly, "Right, okay." She pulled her shirt from her bag and pulled it over her head. "Because what? I'm special or something? She tossed me aside just like everyone else. I don't see her looking for me." Warren gave her a look, "You know how Lynn is. And you're both stubborn as hell so I don't expect you two to reconcile so easily but really this sounds like a complete miscommunication and its stupid for the two of you to keep yourselves apart for that reason."
"Listen, Warren, I didn't come out here to be lectured by one of Lynn's friends okay. So if you're not going to fuck me then leave."
Warren was a little shocked by the otter's blunt attitude. She must be really hurt. "Alright, just… think it over. I think you two are kind of great together. For what its worth." He gave a shrug before getting up and heading out towards the town while Charlie sat there, angry, frustrated and confused. She pulled her legs up into her chest and rested her forehead against her knees as she fought to keep herself together. She wouldn't cry over Lynn anymore. She'd told herself that, but it was too hard when Warren fought her with logic to combat her slightly crazy attitude towards the Asian half-vampire. The blonde was adamant though. She wouldn't apologize. She didn't do anything wrong or expect anything too much. Lynn was the one who was wrong. And until she realized that, Charlie didn’t want any part of it.
Her phone rang again, lighting up with Monroe's name. Guess it was time to start facing real life. She couldn't hide forever. She picked up the phone and pressed the answer button. "Hey."
This hottie can dominate me anytime she likes.
Charlie moved to BOURNEMOUTH without saying a single thing.
What the fuck.
