I am actually really intrigued by Sander because he seems so human??

In the first half of the season, the Even character is almost always portrayed as this perfect, mysterious, unreachable, hot, almost angelic figure that has no flaws at all. Of course, this isn't true as we find out later on (although, this portrayal makes perfect sense as we see Even from Isak's perspective; crushes often develop in a way that amplifies what makes them attractive).

To put it simply, Sander is kind of a dick. He does what he wants, ignores what others ask, he does stupid and even harmful things without thinking about the consequences, he's reckless and he's rude. He doesn't fit the Even cookie cutter we've grown used to seeing.

But that's because that's what Robbe needs. We all agree that Robbe is by far the nicest Isak. In fact, where Isak is weak, Robbe is strong; Isak is short-tempered, messy, manipulative and mishandles his treatment of his mum. Robbe isn't patient, but he instantly realises when he overacts and apologises, he's tidy and respectful of others and he keeps in close contact with his mum. Robbe doesn't need a perfect Even because he doesn't have Isak's flaws.

Robbe needs a bit of chaos in his life. He is so settled in this image of what is expected of him and he tries so hard to please and care for other people that he doesn't take care of himself like he should. Sander acts as a sort of balance. Whereas Robbe is too concerned with pleasing others, Sander does what he pleases. While Robbe is very conscious about what others think of him (thanks internal homophobia 😒), Sander couldn't give less of a shit. I think Sander will encourage Robbe to be more courageous and reckless and care a little less about what others think of him. And I hope Robbe will help Sander be a little more sensitive.
