’Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world. Now could I drink hot blood And do such bitter business as the day Would quake to look on.

This year I somehow convinced my English teacher to let us watch the Dead Poet’s Society in class. I was nervous about my classmates’ reactions because there were a few disrespectful jock types and the movie is about such a sensitive subject. In parts of the movie, especially in the subplot with Chris and Knox, there was wolf-whistling and they talked over the movie. This made me become more and more anxious for the ending. But during the last few scenes of suicide and grief, the whole class became silent. When the bell rang, everyone walked out dead quiet and was respectful. This, to me, is the power of film. It can bring everyone together, no matter what their differences are.

I got the chance to go to Florida a few weeks ago and visit a few museums. This one filled my dark academic heart. ♡
