Since September (for 112 days to be exact!) I have been free of a daily coffee habit! It came about in a miraculous way through sacred art and play... a transformative story I will share another time... I haven’t had any cups of coffee or espresso since then. I did have coffee ice cream a couple times I admit. But what’s even more transformative is I added a new daily drink to my life in January when I experienced a detox retreat in Mexico. I’ve been drinking hot water with lemon instead (or lime or other citrus whenever lemon not available... or just hot water when no citrus available!) and it has been so amazing, clarifying, and cleansing. Warm lemon water is a must for me every morning. And if it's not warm lemon water, it's green tea, matcha tea, or apple cider vinegar tea. It is ideal that the first thing you consume for the day is (warm) water before you consume food. It wakes up and lubricates your digestive system. If you add in lemon, you're also detoxing. If you add in apple cider vinegar, you're getting the added bonus of balancing your gut's pH and introducing more good bacteria.
I’ll add that drinking warm water in the morning (preferably with lemon) helps improve blood circulation. When you drink hot water, the fat deposits in the body burns and the built of deposits in the nervous system also breaks down. This improves blood circulation in the body and also flushes out toxins. Even more so if you include lemon in your warm water.
