I know the Hirogen are Star Trek’s version of the Yautja, but I’m getting big Klingon vibes from the Predator: Badlands trailer.

My main “SIFi Race” I have designed for my SiFi setting are the Bearilla.
They are 900cm tall (on average), mammal like omnivores, bipedal and furred. (Basically a giant Bear combined with a Gorilla, hence the name). They have 2 brains, 2 hearts, super-senses and tough muscles/skin. Their Planet is/was a hugely dangerous world of extreme weather, mega-fauna, and high gravity (1.6x Earth’s Gravity).
Their Planet Gaia, during the Bearilla’s stone-age, was invaded by Space Pirates, and suffered a Great Climate Change. Their planet was not the easiest to live on before the Pirates, but the Pirates strip-mined the planet so much it nearly became unlivable.
The Human Scout Captain, John Riel, who was exploring the region found Gaia being ravaged by pirates and drove the pirates off and Uplifted the Gearilla, saving the planet and species.
Gaia is now under Terran Alliance control, with the planet being Healed with HYPER-SCIENCE, and Bearilla given Colonies/Space-Stations to regrow their numbers/culture. Many younger Bearilla have joined the Multisystem Federation’s anti-Pirate division specifically to get revenge on the Pirate Systems.
They have an interesting perspective, going from Stone-Age to Space-Age less then a generation because one human said “Screw the Prime-Directive”.
I will make a series of posts detailing Bearilla. Next post will detail what Gaia is like and Bearilla culture.
The Father-Son Galick Gun was everything I needed to see this morning.

Klan’s a surprisingly proficient researcher for being a “proud warrior” type character.
