People joke that Star Wars planets feel like just a single city, but to me the fast pacing and the dearth of supplemental material the Sequel Trilogy got makes their planets feel like a single building.

Like, think about just Episode I. A big part of that movie’s marketing campaign was about the three planets it’s set on!

We got games where you play as a Naboo fighter pilot or a Tatooine podracer, books describing the wildlife, ecosystems, and architecture of Naboo and Coruscant, toys of all the random background vehicles and animals.

Compare that to The Force Awakens. Even now, what do we really know about Jakku, Takodana, or D’Qar?
