AU time!!! In 2019 me and my friend came up with this very silly, lighthearted AU where instead of being a kitten murderer Brokenstar is the Clan Dad. All the ShadowClan queens will be looking for their kits and Brokenstar is just in the middle of camp being absolutely drowned in kittens “defeating him”. The kits love him and he always helps the queens out when he can and if they need it. There’s more to it but that’s the basics. I know it’s very unrealistic considering Brokenstar’s character but it was made purely to be a massive character switch for lighthearted discussion, nothing serious; envisioning him as everyone’s big, fluffy, intimidating dad is just really silly and I like it.
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I’ve been running into people who I’ve talked with that think the demi category is “stupid” and unneeded. (And since I’m a demiromantic lesbian I got into a few arguments, yikes.) But I just want my fellow demiromantic and demisexual people to know we are valid!! You too, asexual and aromantic people!! You deserve to celebrate pride month too! Enjoy this month. 🌈
Hihihi! Not sure if anyone has asked you this, but do you have any tips for lining markers/tools or coloring markers/tools for traditional art? I’m asking around because Crayola colored pencils aren’t exactly working for most of my stuff. :’) (Adore your art and comic, by the way!)
If you were hoping for long ramblings about how much I love my pens and markers YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. >8’D
I use three to four different lining pens for my pages. My number one pen is a Staedtler Lumocolor Fine Point. 8D TLDR: Burd is a cheap artist. XD (More on that last pen later!!)((APPARENTLY TUMBLR WIPED MOST OF THAT PARAGRAPH UM. ok I will come back to rewrite it later I’m sorry haugh))
NOW THAT IM DONE RAMBLING ABOUT PENS, TIME TO RAMBLE ABOUT MARKERS AND WATERCOLORS. I’ve been using markers to color my traditional art for about a decade now, and it’s always been my preferred method. uwu I use a mix of Copic, Sharpies, Prismacolors and ProMarkers. Remember how I dissed my Promarker pens? Their markers are A+ and honestly my favorites. They’re the perfect balance of cheap and efficient in my area at least (I would rely on the cheaper versions of Copics as well, but they don’t sell them around here). I bought one or two new Copics every paycheck for a good five years there, and ended up with a pretty substantial stockpile. But I was also a dummy and threw a bunch away over the years. Whenever you can, buy their refills! Refilling them with alcohol like some people recommend will dilute them over time. (Honestly, I think you can also use Copic refills on other alcohol based markers IF you don’t mind the color change that it’ll come with, since all the brands seem to work on different colors.)
NOW ABOUT WATERCOLORS: If I had the right paper and the right paints, I would seriously only use watercolors traditionally. ♥️ The thing that got me addicted to markers was their smooth lay down. If you don’t pause mid coloring, most all markers (except crayola but I mean that’s a whole other bag) will have a smooth color on the page. And then I realized that watercolors do the EXACT SAME THING and you have more variance with color! They are amazing and really therapeutic. But I am also not very experienced with them at all. So for this section, I will return to that mention of the Japanese signing pen and tell you where I got that info: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC70l0A5od5wZ0qSwc1SreOw
THOMAS ROMAIN is the best and whenever I’m feeling low art wise, I watch his videos!! I learned how awesome watercolors and lining pens could be from this guy. ;u; I cannot recommend his channel enough.
BUT WITH THAT, I THINK IM DONE RAMBLING?? I don’t know if this was at all helpful or anything, but thanks so much for the ask, and I hope at least something in this response was a bit helpful. ^^; I have a few more asks to answer that involve rambles, and can I ask if it’s okay for me to put a “read more” cut on these?? I don’t want to be rude to anybody, but I also don’t want to bother anybody because I’m sure my rambles are annoying bfisbfosnf. ;; Because man do I suck at keeping things concise (I have another response where I started out promising I would be and yeah that went out the window real quick haugh).
Hi, I wanted to just contribute to the he/him lesbian thing! I’m a lesbian and just. Wanted to put my thoughts out there. I didn’t know he/him lesbians existed (that feels like a harsh word SKDKSK I just didn’t know there was lesbians that used he/him pronouns!) until recently but I support! I believe that a lesbian CAN use he/him pronouns but should dominantly identify on the feminine scale? Like a person who identifies as a masculine/male gender can’t be a lesbian. He/him lesbians are valid !
hello! thank you for your thoughts! don’t worry i think we all have moments of not knowing about different identities for lots of reasons, mostly just not being exposed to them. heck i live in the middle of midwestern nowhere and i didnt know about nonbinary identities until after I went to college (and soon after I realized I myself am nonbinary)! it happens to most of us!
I would just like to point out again, historically there have been some trans men who are attracted to women who personally identified as lesbians, due to a lack of language and different standards to what’s ok than we have today. you can read more about that on this post here, specifically this quote: “I know trans men that call themselves lesbians for so many reasons - maybe they never go on T or get any surgeries because it’s an intrinsic part of their identity and who they are to have the body they do - it bears scars of being in punchups with skinheads and police violence. They never had the freedom to choose which identity they were - they were dykes for decades before we were born, and they’ve led the Pride parade with Dykes On Bikes and let countless queer women find safe haven in their home and cared for so many gay men as they died in the 80s. They weren’t able to call themselves transgender. The language didn’t exist. The internet didn’t exist - I can’t stress how small each of our worlds was back then, how the flow of information was slow and sterile. The idea of BEING transgender/queer DID NOT EXIST for so many.”
so yes, like you said, by our standards today, anyone identifying as a lesbian should be a woman or feminine or otherwise female-aligned, but some of our older LGBT siblings may identify differently for various reasons. please do take the time to read that post because it explains things a heck of a lot better than I do, and remember its always important to read up on LGBTQ history!
Hi!! If these are still open (I’m assuming they are) could I get something for either Crookedstar or Hawkwing!! They’re both two big synpaths for me!! :’)
Sure!
And you can always tell if we are open by the note in our description! Both mods have just been very busy as of late, but we are still taking requests. - Mod S
Until I found out that it's on Nintendo Switch, instead of on the Wii. And I don't have a Nintento Switch. And everything I look at costs between $150-$300 dollars. 💔😭
I know the requests say open but I hope they still are- if they are, could I get a demiromantic lesbian board with a focus on deer and forests? (If you use flags, know that I don’t identify with the lesbian flag and I identify with the rainbow.)
RiverClan absolutely has the cat equivalent to pool parties. They probably find a pool of water that skirts the territory and bat a large ball of moss around for fun.
