Sorry to bother, This is the person who once put in an ask saying they liked Waruyama, and I totally agree with all your points, I guess I was just overthinking some things, and the post it note drawing was so cute ;/////;

Just wanted to message because you're the only person I thought to squeal about it to, but I got a hold of the new Volume and found out that he's 190cm and Yamano is 156!!

Th-The height difference... She's shorter than his shoulders and I may just keel over and die... 💕❤️

Huaaaaahh! Height differences like this are soooo! Like!! Both parties really have to WORK to make a kiss happen. Yamano standing on tiptoes, grabbing onto him for balance - the general bending down so far that his neck aches - but it's all worth it!!!

And don't even get me started on him picking her up to kiss her—

Hello!

I just wanted to say thank you so so so much for being in the WaruYama tag.

I've been with the manga for a long time, and have been shipping the General with Yamano since the first Volume.

I know Pink's probably more likely to be a romantic partner, but gosh darn it, Yamano knows him better than a lot of people do, and he respects her opinions, at least on foods and wants to save the place she works for last in the destruction of the world.

I literally thought I wouldn't find anything on them when I looked it up today- finally breaking to the pressure of loving the ship so much- and I found you!

(Although Pink clearly likes him, I really can’t see that going anywhere as it’s purely one-sided… just a bittersweet first love for the would-be magical girl. If anything I find her and Blue more likely? Wouldn’t be the first time someone says “they’re like a sister to me” only to realize it was romantic later on lol)

But let’s keep this about WaruYama!!

I really love how he and Yamano just vibe together so well!! From the start she was able to read him, knowing he was disappointed that his favourite snack was out of stock or feeling the same reluctance about eating the Panda buns… the contrast between his ‘tall dark and stoic’ appearance and her sweet sunshine personality is also just to die for >///<

I also really love that she works at HopeMart, like… that’s where hope for coexistence begins and ends!! It’s the place he’ll spare till the very end, and so of course, Yamano as well…! Feels poetic lol

Although it’s a bit cheesy, I’ve been quietly headcanoning Yamano’s given name to be Nozomi (wish, desire, hope etc.) since she hasn’t been given one far as I know ^^;;;

Yamano Nozomi~!! I think it has a nice ring to it.

If it turns out she does have a first name, then I’d make Nozomi their child’s name instead~ (Nozomu if it’s a boy!)

My brain is simmering in dumbass Yamano x General fantasies and I’m torn between two opposing storylines:

He accidentally kidnaps her during a fight with the Rangers and halfheartedly keeps her in his apartment as a hostage/research subject. Yamano realizes he’s pretending and goes along with it because “if I help him understand humans and become friends, maybe he won’t go through with his evil plans!” Close quarters domestic situation, things get spicy.

Yamano is quitting her part-time job at HopeMart to find work at a company following college graduation and the General impulsively offers her a job at his company so she can keep giving him food reccomendations, not revealing that said company is the Evil League ‘till orientation day. Cue silly workplace shenanigans + slow-burn romance.

I’m just gonna keep thinking about BOTH but I’m curious to see what others like 👀

Yamano x General headcanons

in the form of garbage doodles I did really fast at the office:

They lounge around in matching panda kigurumi on their days off.

Yamano calls him Sho-chan in favour of Shogun-sama.

Yamano tries to think of panda themed meals to make when the General is too busy to cook. She’s a bit clumsy at it!

The General rarely thinks about doing ecchi things, so Yamano has to get his attention most of the time >///<

Thanks so much for taking the time to write, and no worries about grammar! Happy to have more WaruYama fans!!

How would they start dating? Let's see... I have lots of different ideas for how they could get together, but for a scenario that's close to the normal canon...

I think it would start with the two exchanging numbers. Not for any romantic intention, but so Yamano could message him ASAP whenever new products came in. That's all it is at first... but little by little, the texts start getting more personal. Yamano slips in fun stories about her day and the General responds in turn, sending her pictures of pandas and cats and other cute creatures he assumes she'd enjoy.

The General respects Yamano's opinion on anything and everything food-related, and starts asking for recommendations outside HopeMart. What restaurants does she frequent? Are there any cafes she'd like to visit? And so they start going out to eat together. After a while they make plans around their meals too, going to the zoo or the park or the beach. They even meet on Christmas and Valentine's Day to try special couples-only menu items.

Yamano feels like a person who'd insist "we're just good friends!!" until told otherwise, even if she wants more. The General is even worse, absolutely refusing to see any deep meaning in seeking the company of this one particular human.

They'd need some sort of push to admit their feelings.

Maybe Rooney spots them on one of their definitely not dates and curiously presses the General for answers on why he's engaging in human courtship rituals. Yamano starts to wonder why too. Maybe Trigger encounters them as well, but the way he balks at Yamano's presence doesn't sit well with the General at all.

Maybe the General's identity is revealed during a fight with the Rangers. A startled Yamano doesn't respond to his texts for a while afterwards. He worries that she'll never talk to him again - that she'll think he was deceiving her for some villainous purpose when the truth was... he just wanted to be with her.

The next time Yamano contacts him is through a phone call. They've never spoken like this before. Her voice sounds both strange and familiar through the speaker as she asks when his next day off is, and if he'd like to tell her more about himself over a proper dinner date??

Well, maybe something like that! That's probably my most natural / casual idea for the pair ^^;; I had lots of fun writing this in any case.

I'm open to asks on other scenario ideas if folks are interested, though I can't promise a big write-up every time...!
