After the gals use hux's timely demise to escape, do they reunite with their dads in the Resistance? Are there tearful recognitions and disbelieving hugs?
okay YES. (I got ur ask that u sent to my art blog!! i was gonna send u a wip of the comic i was doing in response to that but i wanted to finish the other comic first lol)
After Exegol, they find Finn Rose and Jannah's squadron and hitch a ride back to the Resistance base while explaining their journey to ditching the First Order. They're wandering around the base, watching people hugging crying and cheering. They feel a bit awkward, if not relieved they are finally, truly free.
In their isolation amongst the loud joy, there's a peaceful quiet they feel within. And it's THEN. ONLY THEN. After balance has been brought back to the Force, that they feel that tug in the back of their heads. They've felt it before, in the connection to each other that only they understood but never knew where it came from. They even felt it when they met Finn and he smiled and looked at them like he could see their souls. But this one is different, like a connection that had always been there but had been long forgotten and untouched.
up ahead they see two men congratulating other Rebels, but something makes them pause and turn around. there's like a 15-second stunned staring contest before they finally approach each other. The girls are almost shaking, and they introduce themselves with the names the First Order was never able to make them forget. They barely finish their sentence as they're immediately swept up into crushing hugs that feel like home.
