i like getting goodneighbor early. It has my music, and lots of other goodies.
AQUABOY/GIRL is a MUST. It's under endurance level 5.
I am assuming that you will construct and cook inside of sanctuary in order to get your first level up right away.
This is a "run lil man!!!!" Run. You'll only be level 2 unless you craft more while you're racing across the terrain.
While you are running, get used to tapping the left top shoulder button to trigger vats at random. This will help you spot hidden flies/bloodbugs etc. Gotta avoid them for now.
(i don't know what the vats key is on a keyboard or on xbox. All my experience os PS4)
Ghouls at this level can be handled, but best one at a time, and use VATS to target and break their legs. Ghouls with broken legs can't run/attack so you can punch them the rest of the way, and save some ammo.
(if i did that right, there's an under the cut bar up top. Ok photo time)
This is the gyst of the run. I avoided red rocket as I don't use dogmeat as a companion.
At the bottom of sanctuary there's a bridge outta town.
grab the gear off of the raider and the dog (should be a tire iron and a pistol of some sort)
Then climb that rock point off to the right (jump button)
Stay up on the edge and keep left. Aim towards the powerline but avoid that water tower (bugs)
Youll see radstags under that first tower. They highlight as enemies, but these ones are harmless (later radstags may be enraged/attack, but does run away)
Follow the powerlines til you come to this street and row of trees. Just below that big tree is Gorskis cabin (if you feel like you want to try ghouls, there's 4 or 5 here)
If you want to skip and keep running, take the arrow left of the telephone pole
As you look through the trees there youll see a pipe. Follow that little dirt path in front of it for a little bit. (The ghouls shouldn't see you)
as you are following the dirt, youll see this ridge. Cross over as if you're heading back to the power line path. (We are not following the lines though as bloodbugs await 👀)
As you can see, the power line is now on the left. Continue on the rocks/dirt towards the bridge in the distance.
Avoid the ramp on the left. 3 gunners live there. Head through the break in the fence toward that overpass (oops i called it a bridge earlier 🤣)
The circled house is the cat lady. She's a scavenger and sells/buys goods.when you cross under the overpass, stick to the left a lil (close to that pillar)
Near cat lady there is a chance of random encounters on the right side... could be ghouls/dogs/ or 2 low level gunners. Best to avoid. (Hence go left)
This is how it looks so far. (We are going to tag Arc building on our way to the water)
As you pass under the bridge/overpass you'll see these rocks (there's a road and some deer in between the two rocks) keep hopping and keep rolling.
(if dogs spawn, run. They have an attack radius before they get bored)
In a few feet (so to speak) you'll see the back of the Arc building. Run up to it's butt, and get to the front of it. There's a road that leads straight to the waters edge from the front of that building.
On the road to the water from the Arc building. And then into the water!
Water path. You start swimming and mostly it's uneventful (that boat is dangerous)
This is what it looks like above water. That boat is full of raiders.
Swim wide and underwater, and keep going.
The air could get misty as you're heading in (dammit)(i hate the mist)
Anyhoo the tall building is mass fusion, we'll be skirting near it carefully. Head close to shore, nearish that tiny ampitheater (arch shape)
Placed a marker where landfall will occur on the pipboy map (the empty square on a stick. The "full square stick" is Piper, following my ass weirldy🤣)
Before you hit land there's a half sunk rowboat. It has an open safe on it. (Yay guns and ammo, i hope the random generator is kind!)
Saaaaaaafe 😸 (mine had 10mm ammo and a shotgun. Mismatched but I'll take it)
Friggin mist returning.
Left side x is a raider scene. Swim a little wide to the dirt near the ... Sea wall? Railing? It's a thick long concrete thing that's waist high.
Climb up the dirt, hop over the barrier. Stay to the right of the short broken building.
This should be your view if you're next to the small building and looking into town. Head through this street past grey tortoise.
Down the street, there's that broken bus. Step around it and keep going straight. (Possible rando ghoul or two... But usually not)
(i had ghouls spawn because a "find this treasure" set of bodies spawned next to that concrete barrier. I hope they dont spawn for you. But its random)
From here, both tread carefully and get ready to haul ass. Sneak up to that concrete if possible. And save your game progress.
Now we're standing next to the barrier and the stairs. Where that X is, is 3 armed gunners who will rip ya a new one. That is the base of the Mass Fusion building. Home of major battles, and also a sweet pair of "no damage from falling" leg armor. (Will find YouTube video and put in comments)
Check the next set of photos first because we probably gonna be spotted and need to run (if we lucky they ignore, but i been unlucky before)
Stay to the right a little bit and pass to the right of the concrete barriers
As you are passing the barriers and running ahead youll see a pickup truck (left) with baseball bat and suitcase with random clothes in it. Keep that guy in front of you as you haul ass (if you head too far to the right super mutants will eat you)
Same truck, and friggin mist ... But you can see the first goodneighbor sign.
Head forward and stay to the right beyond the nose of the truck to get to town. (Too far left and 3 wild dogs will eat you 🤣)
Goodneighbor gate! Welcome 🥰
I have had on occasion to keep running high speed all the way to the door and slam the open button to survive/get inside 🤣🤣🤣
I'm gonna keep y'all updated on my monotype pokemon run. I decided to switch to Black 2 because I started Y, realized I can not stand Shauna, and shut off the game.
I'm making my way through chargestone cave, and it's going pretty well. The pokemon with Sturdy are annoying, but I'm not getting bodied by constant electric attacks like I feared I would. It seems like the most common electric attack I'm experiencing has been Charge Beam from Klink, and that guy does not have the special attack needed to deal much with it (plus Stygia has special defense through the roof so...). Honestly the most annoying has been Ferrothorn, just cause of how I can't deal much substantial damage to it, not cause it's really hurting me much.
Anyway, I'm like halfway through I think, and Lutri just evolved! Yay, Samurott!
Until this moment, I fully thought Samurott was part fighting type, but apparently just water type! (I suppose that makes sense what with Emboar already being fighting... but maybe that just means they shouldn't have had another fire fighting starter in this gen)
It took like an hour of just wandering in circles but I got Sylvia evolved. Now she's got some real stats to take on the first gym!
AND SHE DID AMAZING
Even though she was only level 10 to Cheren's 11 and 13 patrat and lillipup, her Charm nullified his Work Up spam, and Roll Out's damage scaling let her skip past him healing his pokemon at low health! Sylvia singlehandedly earned me the Basic Badge!
