wore my sunglasses today because while i was walking with my friend, he put his sunglasses on. my eyes were also getting irritated and that’s when i said ! hey !! i have sunglasses in my purse right now ! #duh !! they’re HUGE and i Love them.

hey everyone, was in the middle of standing in my shower making an annoying text post about jthm when I turned around and found a cockroach on my ceiling :) and in case y'all don't live in Yeehawville, Down South I don't mean on of those tiny german cockroaches. i mean a GIANT FUCKING WATERBUG

I'm going to take this opportunity talk about how scared I am of bugs. when I say "bugs", I mean insects bigger than a mosquitos not counting butterflies, pill bugs, some moths, ladybugs, and some flies. absolutely ANY arachnid will NOT fly with me, regardless of shape and size. and yes, that does mean I'm scared of bumblebees, cicadas (even the shells), beetles, and dragonflies. bugs have been a huge irrational fear of mine ever since I was a toddler, and even just looking at insect eggs sets off my fight or flight. we don't have wild tarantulas in YeeHaw Junction so the biggest bug we have is the water bug, and those things TERRIFY me. and do you know what's worse? THE WATERBUGS THAT CAN *FLY*!!!!!!

my group chat has seen me send terrified, on edge videos of me (sometimes buck naked behind the camera) dealing with roaches both dead and alive. there's one old video in particular where I used the handle on a toilet cleaning brush to tuck in a dead water bug with a square of toilet paper entitled "goodnight sweet prince". they ALL know how scared I am of bugs, cockroaches in particular. they dont even set off my anxiety, they jump straight into my fight or flight and make me send a message to my group chat and get as far away as I can, no matter how clothed I may be. it will often soak up a half hour of my time as I try to kill/rid myself of the corpse of a roach in one of my frequent living spaces, which happens somewhat often seeing as the bugs sneak inside as an escape from either the Yeehaw heat or the Yeehaw freeze. if its in a place I'm not in frequently I just give it a wide berth and wait for my cat to eat it.

SO in typical fashion i just spent half an hour 1. throwing things at it (I missed), 2. spraying it with a tiny can of sunscreen (that didn't work), and 3. panicking in the group chat before remembering the can of raid in my backyard and killing it. I'm doing great

tl;dr- found a giant waterbug in my shower and managed to kill it, but my irrational fear of insects forced me to video the whole half hour long affair and now my fight or flight response will be WAY too touchy for the rest of the evening :)

Because my boyfriend and I are very autistically into Steven universe, we made characters, worlds, and are working on alien races. Here’s one of them written as succinctly as possible. It’s under a read more to spare taking up a lot of space on the dash. 

Note: They are left plain and bare to be shown how they look mostly naked. This isn’t their final version of them either so yeah. I’m always happy to hear suggestions to fix them up and discuss it with my partner.

The Dytic race was once an aquatic insectoid species that lost their wings and shells covering them thousands of years ago to move onto land. In memory of their ancestors, they craft shells out of wood to use as shields and floating devices along the waters they still live around. Their shells are decorated in tales of heroes of long ago and the rise of their kind from the depths below. They are voyagers now, traveling island to island or shore to shore when a new generation takes over to preserve the environment for when they inevitably return to those spots in the future. The species is slow but tough, being unable to fly and manuver swiftly but can take and land a fierce punch. Compared to many other alien races, they are considered primitive and still within the late Stone Age.Their males are normally the hunters and gatherers, all on one main quest in the end, to be the leader and the next hero of the tribe to have their stories told. The females carry a simple job at the camp, guarding the young and the camps themselves. In order for a male and female to copulate though, a male must bring a valuable item found on their hunts and gathering to adorn the female they desire. The female must also accept the gift in order for them to be betrothed. Once together, it is the male's job to continue to dress up their mate in hand fashioned jewlery and items from their hunts.
