I always thought the Black Arms aliens were pretty neat, but it wasn't until Shadow Generations where I realized just how fascinating they actually are.
On the surface, the Black Arms were presented as a race of reptilians seemingly taking inspiration from both classic UFO invaders and Xenomorph-like aliens, all led by a mysterious, demonic overlord, Black Doom. With a mixture of sci-fi laser guns and strange biotech, they seek to conquer the world and use humanity as a food source. That's all well and good, but we would eventually learn there's more to these space lizards.
At the end of Shadow's first solo venture, we see the titular black hedgehog defeat Black Doom and destroy the massive alien space vessel, the Black Comet, seemingly putting an end to the Black Arms threat once and for all...
HOWEVER, it is later revealed in Shadow Generations that Black Doom had somehow survived his defeat at Shadow's hands, and seeks to rebuild his forces in order to menace Earth once again.
But how did Black Doom survive? Wasn't he, and the rest of the Black Arms, destroyed by Shadow?
Well, it's revealed that Black Doom was able to transfer his consciousness into a lone Black Arms larva that was kept sealed on the space colony ARK all these years, and from it Black Doom grew himself a new body.
This reveals that not only are the Black Arms a hive mind, but each member of the species is just an extension of Black Doom himself. Basically, Black Doom IS the Black Arms! And so long as even a single specimen of that species is alive somewhere, Black Doom will return.
This even extends to Shadow, being a Black Arms hybrid. In Shadow Generations it is also revealed that Black Doom didn't just want Shadow as an ultimate warrior to use as his right hand. Black Doom's ultimate goal for Shadow was to take over his body and use him as his next vessel, becoming the Ultimate Lifeform himself!
This idea that Black Doom can just grow new bodies from his stock of Black Arms soldiers ad infinitum certainly explains how he's so incredibly long lived! This method of immortality is just so fascinating to me.
What's also interesting is how this hive mind differs from other depictions I've seen. Usually, a hive mind is depicted as each member having no sense of self or individuality. All are equal in their lack of identity. But with the Black Arms there is almost paradoxically a true identity among them, a single entity that goes by a name. An entire species that exists only as Black Doom's will made flesh. Each member, each body, though they all have faces, are all ultimately nothing more than the limbs, or "arms", of Black Doom.
I FORGOT I DREW THESE??? just rummaging through some of my old drawings and found these motherfuckers! I literally have like a full ass notebook talking about their fucking planet and their stuff! Maybe if I have enough brain power I’ll transcribe it here. tidbit on them they’re very much like space raccoons.
Recently my mind conjured an idea for an additional Clarketech alien that could better represent the Earth element than humans thus making humans themselves an anomaly in the sci-fi fantasy universe they exist in. Design wise, this idea is a different take on the sand worm popularized by Frank Herbert's Dune novel. The biggest inspirations were some depictions of the God emperor of Dune Leto Atreites II who became human/sand worm hybrid to be a near immortal tyrant to ensure humanity's survival*. This version the worms are a fully sapient species that possess a second head within their main heads encircled with eyes and hand tipped limbs. Other differences is not being nearly as large (35-70m in length and 1-2m in diameter), skeletons with air pockets to reduce weight, producing acid to aid in burrowing, and speaking with surprisingly soothing voices. Even in a universe that uses magic, I still aim to make my creations as physically/biologically sound as possible. I'd like to know if you think this species should be included in my Clarketech universe or not (search the Clarketech tag on my blog to check out my other art pieces from this universe).
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
*the apparent idea was that the God Emperor would be the worst tyrant so there would be no tyrants after him and humanity would spread further amongst the stars to avoid extinction.

Storyline (18+): Turns out New York City wasn't as safe as you thought it was when you moved there a few months ago. You eventually get caught up in a dangerous situation but are later saved by a bounty hunter (Loki Laufeyson). Although, something about you drew him in closer. It later becomes apparent that you are marked by the Xalvakar clan (alien race) to be the next breeding slave for the clans Vythar (king in a sense). Loki's guild orders him to kill you because they didn't want that alien race to procreate any more, due to their dangerous nature here on Earth. Other guilds have other plans in mind, wanting to kidnap you as a bargaining chip. While others want you simply because you are claimed as a breeding slave, to be used sexually and for their own pleasure. It is a crazy world that you live in. Will Loki live up to the task to keep you safe? Will he give in to his orders and kill you within seconds? Or will the cocky bounty hunter fall in love with you in the coming days. 【Storyline is subject to change, not set in stone】
Warnings: Cursing, fighting, mention of blood, but nothing too graphic.

A Deadly Bounty Pt. 5
Yet, his mind kept drifting back to you. It wasn't the pheromones that were drawing him to you, that was physically impossible because of the collar around your neck, it suppressed your pheromones. So it had to be love, a deep love that had been brewing inside of him for the longest time.
“Argh” he growled in anger, trying to compose himself.
“Loki?” Your voice spoke from behind him.
“Yeah?” Loki turned around to face you, his pupils dilating at the sight of you in jeans, the same hoodie you wore, and the hood pulled up over your head, making you look cuter than ever.
“Can I bring my phone?” You asked curiously, not wanting to upset him further than he already seemed.
“Uh…sure…just uh.…make sure that you keep it close to your person. The place we're going to has a lot of pick pockets”
“Oh, okay, understood” you nodded awkwardly as you walked past him and headed downstairs towards the garage.
Loki sighed in desperation as he tried to compose himself, again. “By the gods give me strength.”
Within a few minutes, Loki drove up in his green truck to the enormous underground shopping center. It was a secret place that only a few people knew about and only those who knew the password could enter. It was a breeding ground for aliens to shop for human relics, alien relics, and other illegal things that couldn't be bought normally or with consent.
“Okay, here we are” Loki put his truck in park and turned his body to face you. “Ready?”
You nervously put your phone in your bra and glanced outside to the secret location. “How am I supposed to go in?” You questioned.
“You're going to go down those steps and you'll see a double door made of metal. Knock three times and tell them the password, which is meta tur cana.”
“What does that mean?”
Loki rolled his eyes, “The meaning doesn't matter. Just say that phrase exactly as I said it or they'll peg you as human.”
“And if anyone asks you, you are a hybrid. A human and alien mix. Your mom was an alien and your father was human. Clear?”
“Okay, you don't have to be so mean,” you grumbled, adjusting your hoodie and grabbing the handle to the door to exit.
Suddenly, Loki grabbed a hold of your left wrist, preventing you from leaving his truck.
“What?”
“I have to take your collar off for this to work.”
“No…no there is no way that I'm letting you take this collar off and then send me out to be around alien species who would devour me whole if they get one whiff of my pheromones.”
“Y/n…” Loki began, grabbing a hold of the collar. “Other aliens can see your collar, humans can not. In order for me to capture the target, I need him to believe that you are an Omega lineage carrier without a collar, ripe for the taking.”
“Once you get him into a secluded location within that place I can take him.”
“So…” Loki gulped as he unhooked your collar and pulled it off your neck. “I need to take it off.”
A slight whimper escaped your lips as you felt the weight of the collar leave your neck. “This feels weird…”.
“Yeah…it will for a little.…but don't worry. I'll put it back on later so that no other alien can smell your pheromones and attack you.”
You gave Loki a slow nod as you turned towards the passenger door and opened it. “Please don't let him hurt me…” was all that slipped past your lips as you exited his truck and closed the door behind you.
“I won't..” he whispered to himself as he drove off to find suitable parking and prepare himself to capture his target within the shopping place.
With slow, calculated steps, you approached the stairs. Panic rushed through you as you saw how eerie and dimly lit it was down there.
“Phew…you can do this y/n…you can do this” you reassured yourself as you walked down the stairs.
In a split second you arrived at the metal double doors that seemed like it belonged to an old Russian base or prison.
Raising your right hand, you knocked at the doors three times.
“Password?” A low voice rang out from the little window that opened.
“Uh meta tur cana” you said it as best as you could.
“Hmm” the voice rumbled as it closed the little window and opened the door for you. “Enter” the alien hissed as it allowed you to pass.
“T-Thanks” you said nervously as you ushered past the alien and into the shopping center or better known as the Black Market for Aliens.
“Welcome to Zina Par, the Black Market for all types! Please enjoy your time and be wary of humans!” The announcer spoke over the sound system.
“Oh shit…how the hell am I supposed to know what he looks like if he didn't show me!” You grumbled in annoyance.
“That's because I was distracted” a familiar voice spoke beside you.
You jumped slightly at the sudden voice beside you. “My gosh, stop scaring me like that” you sighed as you realized it was Loki.
“Heh, I love it when you get scared” Loki chuckled to himself as he adjusted his clothing, scanning the area in case there were any heads that were turned towards their direction.
“Excuse you, distracted? How are you distracted?”
“You distract me” he turned his gaze towards you, becoming distracted once again.
“I…uh…what?!” You shook your head in annoyance. “Just show me the fucking picture so I can find him and be done with this.”
“Well you said you wanted to come with me so don't get all grumpy” Loki snickered as he pulled out a black bracelet. He then grabbed your hand and slipped on the bracelet.
“What are you…oh!” You gasped as your eyes glowed slightly, an interface appearing before you. “Woah…this is fucking awesome!”
You laughed softly as you looked at your hand and noticed the holographic images and buttons.
“Now don't get all excited” Loki shook his head playfully as he tapped on one of the buttons beside your wrist.
“This is our target, Mangu Rami, Son of Clan Quintane.”
“Hmm, he looks cute,” you commented, sending Loki into a jealous rage.
“Cute? He’s dangerous y/n. He would tear off the clothes on your back and fuck you in front of everyone. He does not care for your life” Loki spoke sternly but with a hint of jealousy.
“Are you serious? Now I can’t make comments about people’s appearances?” You sighed as you waved your wrist to hide the interface and then walked away from him. “I’ll find him..” you murmured to yourself as you gathered up the courage.
Loki grumbled as he tried his best to bury his ravenous hunger for you after already getting a whiff of your pheromones. “This was a mistake, with all these aliens here…who knows what could happen to her.”
Within seconds, a large group of aliens passed in front of him and he disappeared in an instant like a ghost in the wind.
Continuing down the market, you noticed the different types of foods and clothing these aliens were selling. Some of them looked quite appetizing, others not so much. But you couldn’t help but stop to see a bunch of stylish outfits.
“Ah, itu, itu, va par natish” An alien woman quickly rushed out from within the shop to greet you.
“Um…uh…” you gulped as you tried to understand what she was saying.
“Natish?” she repeated.
Suddenly, a synthesized voice spoke in your ear, “Translating. Alien Species known as the Leto. The Leto are very wise and nurturing. A word of caution, do not stare too long into their eyes, they will hypnotize you. Solution, glance their way for a few seconds and then down towards a random object. Repeat process. If they seem interested in speaking further, do not look into their eyes for more than 2 minutes.”
“Child?”
“Huh?” You gasped, understanding the alien woman clearly after you were debriefed by the synthesized voice.
“Are you looking at these clothes, child?” The alien woman smiled, her eyes radiating a sense of wonder and curiosity, but filled with warmth, something you had never seen in another person before.
“Uh yes, I was intrigued how beautiful they are” you quickly glanced down, making sure that you followed the guidelines that were provided to you.
“They are beautiful, aren’t they? You would look fabulous in them” The alien woman giggled as she grabbed a hold of your hand and looked you up and down.
You jolted slightly when she grabbed your hand, trying your hardest not to look into her eyes. “How much are they?” You questioned curiously while looking down at them.
“Hmmm, I actually have something better. Something that you would like, human.”
“What?” you gasped as you looked into her eyes, a wide smirk forming at the corners of her mouth. “How’d you-.”
“Come now, you need to change, if the other aliens here see you dressed in that, they’ll peg you as human. Now let me help you change into something that’ll draw eyes, but not because of you being a human” she released your hand and made a gesture with her index finger to follow her to the back.
“Fuck….I shouldn’t have stopped” you sighed as you reluctantly followed her.
With a quick shove, the alien woman opened a back door that had a table filled with more of the outfits that she had in front. But just behind the table, was a metal mannequin that had an outfit that made your eyes widen in shock and awe.
“Woah, is that the outfit?”
“Indeed it is, my child. Something that I think will suit your body” The alien woman giggled as she approached the mannequin and pulled off the outfit. “But first, let me fix your hair. I can’t have you wear Yunta Fara’s clothing with the hair style you have on now.”
“What’s wrong with my hair?” you grumbled, pushing back your hoodie to reveal your simple ponytail.
“It is simply a tail, nothing more” she chuckled and set the outfit down before gesturing you to her chair.
Without looking into her eyes, you sat down on the rolling chair in front of you and turned around so she could have access to your hair. “So, you’re called Yunta?”
“Mhm, for nine generations now” Yunta chuckled as she approached behind you and began to brush your hair. “Such lucicious hair you have my child.”
“Thank you,” You chuckled. “I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but why are you doing this? I am a human? Don’t aliens hate humans?”
“Not all aliens hate humans, my child. Some do because they have hurt, experimented or….done worse to us…..”.
“I’m sorry….”.
“No need. I can sense the goodness in your heart, child” Yunta smiled as she put the finishing touches to your hair. “So, what do you think?” She smiled as she turned you around in the chair, your back facing the mirror behind you and then putting a mirror in front of you so you could see the hair style.
“Wow, this is amazing! Thank you!” You giggled ecstatically.
“Any time my child. Now, there’s a divider behind the mirror. Take the outfit and put it on. I’ll make sure that your clothes are put in a backpack that you can carry.”
“Thanks” you nodded happily, looking into her eyes with gratitude.
“Don’t stare too long into my eyes child, I know that humans aren’t accustomed to seeing eyes like these. And their brains turn to mush in seconds of prolonged staring” Yunta chuckled as she turned away, to prevent you from looking into her eyes.
“Oh right, almost forgot about that” you chuckled awkwardly as you grabbed the outfit and went behind the divider to put the outfit on.
After a couple of minutes, you came dressed out in the outfit. “Damn, I look good,” you laughed to yourself, adjusting your phone that you still had in your bra.
“Yes you do” Yunta smiled as she grabbed your clothing and neatly folded them into the backpack.
“How much do I owe you Yunta?” you curiously asked, wanting to give her something in exchange for the beautiful clothing she had gifted to you.
“Nothing, my child. All I ask is that-” she went silent for a moment as she handed you the bookbag, her gaze staring deep into the floor. “Is that you kill that Tentar of a Vythar….Tyr’Voss.” (‘Tentar’ means bastard in Tyr’Voss’s clan language)
“Who’s Tyr’Voss?” you questioned, putting the bookbag around your back.
Yunta’s head shot up quickly, her eyes widening in shock, “You haven’t gotten to that time yet…..”. “Nevermind, nevermind, do not worry about a thing” She giggled nervously as she turned you around and began to push you out of her shop.
“No, wait, what do you mean?” You gasped as you tried to stop her from pushing you out.
“I-I can’t tell you my child….not yet…you will find out sooner or later. If I tell you now….it will have serious repercussions to your world” Yunta deeply sighed as she waved her hands, metal shutters quickly coming down, indicating that she had closed up shop.
“Serious repercussions?” You questioned in confusion, gripping your head as you looked beyond the market. Who was this Tyr’Voss? Was he an alien guard or some kind of King?
Shaking those thoughts out of your head, you continued down the market, hoping that you could find this Mangu Rami.
Meanwhile, Loki was perusing down the market, looking at the interesting technology that some of the other aliens were selling.
“Hmm, I hope y/n is okay” He muttered underneath his breath, until he stopped to find a weapon that he had not seen in generations.
“You there! Welcome to Nabar’s finest set of arms in all the galaxies!”
“Finest set of arms? I’ve seen better” Loki approached Nabar’s stall and continued to stare at the weapon that had caught his eye before.
“Seen better? And yet you keep staring at this one” Nabar chuckled as he grabbed the weapon and twirled it around in his fingers.
“Where did you get it?” Loki questioned.
“From the beautiful planet of Yecarro” Nabar smiled deviously.
“I can tell.”
“How?”
“That’s my home planet” Loki stared deep into the man’s eyes, but not just any stare. It was a stare that could send chills down anyone’s spine.
Nabar instantly crumbled beneath Loki’s stare as he nervously set the dagger down in front of him. “Uh…w-would you like it at a sale price?”
“How much is the sale price?”
“I-It’s twenty meta units.”
“Sounds reasonable” Loki huffed as he waved his hand over the metal puck beside Nabar’s hand and paid the twenty meta units.
“Where’s the second one?” Loki questioned as he grabbed the dagger and twirled it in his hands.
“S-Second one?” Nabar gulped as he tried to back away slowly.
“This was a set of two. So, like I said before, where is the second one?” Loki pointed the dagger at Nabar.
“Okay here, here, no charge! Just please leave me alone!” Nabar whimpered like a child as he grabbed the dagger that was underneath the table and handed it to him.
“Pleasure doing business with you, Nabar” Loki laughed as he grabbed the other dagger and proceeded to walk away.
“Ugh…I’m not stealing anything else from Yecarro again” Nabar sighed in annoyance.
“Man I’m kind of hungry” You rubbed your stomach and looked up, noticing a place that resembled a bit like a Ramen place. “Hmmm, this seems okay enough” you shrugged as you entered the place.
“Hello! Welcome to Naga Sinta’s delicious Raka house! How many?”
“Uh j-just one” You nodded as you held onto the straps of your bookbag.
“Follow me then child” The alien woman grabbed a singular metal pole and turned around to head to the seating area.
Within seconds, you were seated at a bar that had a rotating conveyer belt. “Feel free to call for one of us by pressing the button underneath the table. And here’s your menu. Enjoy!” the alien woman giggled as she walked away.
“The menu?” you questioned as you grabbed the metal pole, trying to understand how the hell to use this?
“Heh, you press the button at the top sweetheart” A man’s voice spoke from beside you.
“Oh, like this?” you said as you pressed the top of the metal pole and then jumped when the holographic image of the menu appeared beside the pole. “Oh, that’s awesome!”
“I can tell you aren’t from around here.”
“Yeah, I wanted to try out a new place, so…I decided to come here” you chuckled, pulling your bookbag off and putting it underneath your chair.
“What I meant is that you are new to the market. Usually the clientele here know about the holographic menus, but you don’t seem familiar with them.”
“Oh….well I uh…” You looked towards the alien man, your heart sinking instantly when you realized who was in front of you. It was him, Mangu Rami.
“Hmm?” Mangu raised his eyebrow at your sudden cut off.
“My family talked about this place for a long time now and I wanted to check it out” You lied.
“Oh really? Understandable then, you must not be used to the holographic technology that most of these species use.” “Can be quite confusing” Mangu chuckled as he grabbed onto his bowl of eels and began to slurp them.
“Yeah” you nodded nervously as you looked down at the menu, noticing if there was anything that you could possibly eat that didn't have eyes, nails, hair, or anything that could bring harm to you.
“Mmm, you should definitely try their rolls. They come on the conveyer belt and you choose what interests you.” “They also have soup that comes down the belt if that interests you too.”
“Oh, thanks” you nodded as you set down the menu and looked at the different plates that passed by.
“Oh fuck!” You jolted when you noticed a plate going down the belt that had moving eyes wrapped in a layer of seaweed.
Mangu frowned in confusion, “You okay?”
“Yeah, I just got a chill down my spine that’s all” You laughed nervously, trying to recompose yourself.
As the plates continued to pass by, you noticed one plate that seemed quite normal. It was simply shrimp wrapped in seaweed and rice. “Oh, this looks appetizing” you chuckled as you grabbed the plate from the belt and began to munch down on it with some chopsticks.
“Mmm, now this is nice” You hummed happily.
“You know that’s glow shrimp right?”
“Huh? What’s glow shrimp?” You raised a brow in suspicion.
Mangu let out a small chuckle as he set down his chopsticks, “Wait for it.”
“Wait for what-” you went silent as you looked down at the veins in your hands, noticing them slowly start to glow the same color as the shrimp. “Holy shit.”
“Cool huh?” Mangu smiled at how genuine your reactions were. “You really have never tried any of these alien cuisines before right?”
“No…I haven’t actually” you rubbed your hands together gently, the glow in your veins slowly vanishing. “I also have never been to an alien market before.”
“Never been?” “What kind of alien species are you to have never been to one of these?”
“Well I’m a hybrid….so…..many aliens here don’t like humans and so…I typically steer clear of large areas with them” You shrugged, grabbing another plate of glow shrimp from the conveyor belt.
“A hybrid? My word” Mangu gasped as he leaned in to study your features. “At first I thought you were a human by your mannerisms but now I see, you do have a bit of an alien in you.”
A deep blush peered across your cheeks as you took notice of him leaning into you, creating a sort of awkward tension that triggered a release of your pheromones. “Can you give me some space please, I’m not some sort of fucking zoo animal that you can just gawk at.”
“Oh, my apologies” Mangu cleared his throat, grabbing a plate that had some sort of flat creature sprinkled with a layer of sauce.
“Want a slice?” he offered.
“Oh uh…i-is it toxic?”
“Only to humans, but you’re a hybrid, you’ll be perfectly fine.”
“Um” you gulped slightly as you looked down at the plate with worry. “I think I’ll pass, I like the glow shrimp better.”
“Heh, suit yourself” he shrugged, grabbing the plate and downing the entire creature. Yet, once he finished slurping, he got a whiff of a pleasant aroma that made his pants tighten in anticipation and hunger.
“Ugh” Mangu groaned as he gripped his throat.
“Are you sure you aren’t human? Because that creature seemed like it didn’t go down right” You teased as you downed another glow shrimp.
“Ah” Mangu turned towards you, his face in utter shock. “I-I’m fine…” he chuckled to himself as he realized what you were. “Just…adjusting to the toxins of the food” he lied, already coming up with a plan to take you.
An hour had passed as you ate about a dozen glow shrimp, slurped on a couple of Bright drinks, and had a pleasant conversation with Mangu, not realizing that he had caught on to her secret.
“Well, I think it's time to head home. It was nice meeting you Mangu” You smiled, waving your hand over the puck in front of the conveyor belt and paid the tab.
“Any time y/n. Nice to meet a beautiful hybrid such as yourself” he chuckled as he grabbed a hold of your hand and pressed a gentle kiss against it.
“Oh…heh….till next time” you blushed, pulling your hand away and sliding your bookbag on. With a couple of steps you were out of the Ramen shop and continued down the market, trying to find a suitable dimly lit place to sneak into so that you could give Loki an advantage to capture Mangu.
Watching you walk down the market from within the shop, Mangu’s lips curled into a dark smirk. With the flick of his hand he paid his tab and downed the last bits of the Bright drink, proceeding outside to follow you.
“Whoops wrong turn” you sighed, turning around to head out of the dimly lit alleyway but stopped in your tracks when you noticed Mangu standing at the entrance. “Mangu?”
“Did you really think I’m an idiot y/n?”
“W-What do you mean?” you nervously chuckled.
“You aren’t a hybrid. You’re an Omega Lineage Carrier, a rare thing in these parts” Mangu grumbled hungrily as he slowly approached you like an animal in heat.
“I-I’m not….I just-” you went silent as you tried to find a way to contact Loki.
“Don’t try to run or scream. No one is going to help a filthy human like you” Mangu grabbed your arms viciously and slammed you against the wall.
“Ah!” you winced, looking into his eyes fearfully. “P-Please don’t hurt me…..”.
Mangu looked into your eyes, noticing how much fear filled them. “I-I’m sorry…I need you….for my clan….”. “Our next generation needs to be born. If I don’t find someone soon…..my clan will go extinct.” “You are a very sweet girl. You deserve all the happiness in the world. But…my clan comes first. Forgive me y/n” he bared his sharp fangs, and pushed your head aside, leaning in to bite into your neck to commence the mating ritual.
Suddenly, a purple dagger came flying towards Mangu, piercing his spine. “Argh!” he screamed in pain, letting you go to clutch his back.
Quickly scrambling past Mangu, you rushed towards Loki, making sure that you stood behind him to not get hurt.
Mangu slowly turned around, his eyes full of seething hatred. “Varian, it’s so good to see you” he smirked, grabbing the handle of his dagger and pulling it out of his spine.
Loki made sure to extend his hand out to cover you, the other holding the second purple dagger. “Good to see you too Mangu.”
“Using an Omega Lineage Carrier to capture me huh? Clever.”
“You have evaded me for the last time, Mangu. So, this time I came prepared and planned methodically. Why don’t you surrender nice and easy?”
“You know she’s not safe. She will never be safe with that mark on her neck. If you allow her to come with me so that I can breed my next generation, I promise to keep her safe and happy.”
Loki glanced over to you, noticing how terrified you were. “I know she won’t be safe, but I’m not allowing anyone to take her to be bred like a fucking slave” Loki shouted, charging Mangu.
Mangu snarled angrily at Loki as he also charged forward, releasing a petrifying sonic scream.
“Ah!” you winced, covering your ears in pain and kneeling down onto the ground.
But for Loki, he wasn’t phased by the scream because of the specialized ear plugs he had brought with him. “Argh!” he shouted, using his dagger to defend himself from Mangu.
“Argh!” Mangu growled as he used the back of his arm to block Loki’s attack (Mangu’s species had skin that was tough as iron. Hard to penetrate and good for protection).
“What the fuck?” Loki gasped as he tried to push Mangu back but to no avail.
“They didn’t debrief you on our adaptations huh?” Mangu smirked, shoving Loki back violently.
Loki winced as he was slammed back, quickly scrambling to grab his dagger that had dropped beside him.
“Ya!” Mangu threw Loki’s dagger in one quick motion, nearly hitting his shoulder.
“Woah!”
“Mangu stop!” you shouted, getting in between the two.
“Y/n, get away from him!” Loki shouted, readjusting his position from the ground and standing.
“Why should I stop, hmm? These bounty hunters call us parasites when they’re the real ones! Taking our children and murdering them when all we wanted was to have a new life!”
“That’s no true Mangu and you know it! We bring order to the planet! Making sure that the parasitic aliens from other planets don’t disrupt the human way of life here!” Loki bared his fangs, his eyes darkening to a black void.
“Loki…..some alien clans don’t follow their Veopar…… . Some of them are wicked and force their brothers and sisters to commit horrible acts in the name of the next generation. That’s not what we do, I can assure you. We had left our Veopar ages ago. All we want is a peaceful life. A few others and I are the last ones of our clan and we need a human woman to help us create the next generation, one that can live peacefully and without persecution from anyone. Please…help us” (‘Veopar’ means King in their species’ language).
Loki slowly put down his daggers by his side, noticing the pleading eyes coming from Mangu. His eyes reminded him of you, your soft pleas and gentle eyes that had such sweet innocence.
Please don’t hurt me.
The whisper wasn’t real. It breathed against Loki’s ear anyway, a memory curling through his mind without permission.
“Argh… no… I have… a duty to uphold. I cannot….” He tore his gaze toward you, toward those wide, soft eyes that mirrored the past too closely, silently pleading for mercy.
“Fuck!” Loki roared, flinging his dagger at the wall. It struck hard, rang out, then clattered uselessly to the floor.
“I will help you Mangu, but you had better promise me that you will explain everything to my boss.”
Mangu’s breath hitched, “Thank you, thank you so much Varian!”
“Don’t thank me, thank her” Loki pointed the other dagger towards you as he went to grab the one on the floor.
You let out a relieved sigh, glad that Loki was able to show some sort of mercy.
“Thank you as well y/n.”
“Of course” you nodded respectfully, turning at your heels and approaching Loki to press a gentle kiss to his cheek.
Loki glared down upon you after you gave him a small peck on his cheek. “Don’t try to sway my emotions with your kiss.”
“I’m not! I’m just…thanking you…for showing mercy” you smiled, unaware of the pheromones that were slowly emanating from you.
“Ah” Loki held back a whimper when he got a whiff of your pheromones. “Shit, come here” he quickly grabbed you, making sure that you stood in front of him.
With quick movements, he grabbed your collar from his pocket and placed it onto you.
“Was I releasing that much?” you questioned in curiosity while holding onto the collar around your neck.
“Yes, you were” he slowly breathed in and out, attempting to regulate his fast heart rate.
“Well sorry” you rolled your eyes.
“Mhm” Loki shook his head, sheathed both his purple daggers and approached Mangu. “I need to uh…put these on you as a precaution.”
Mangu looked down slowly at the cuffs that Loki had pulled out of his pack, a soft huff escaping his throat. “Do you not trust me?”
“No.”
“Touche as the humans say it” Mangu grinned, putting his wrist together.
“Now don’t go nowhere” Loki made sure to secure the cuffs tightly before he touched his wrist interface to contact his boss, Vixen.
As Varian made his call, the market bustled on, unaware, then he was there, his gaze sweeping the stalls with quiet intent.
“What’s your order Fang?” A guard questioned.
“We find Yunta. She was our clan’s most elite Void-Walker. If anyone knows about the girl’s location, it's her.”
“Looks like she’s in the east side of the market sir” Another guard spoke as he presented Fang with a holopad with the precise location of Yunta.
“Good work. Follow me” Fang handed the holopad back to the guard and proceeded forward. With this new power given to him by his Vythar, nothing could stop him, not even Varian Shadefang.
“Hello and welco-” Yunta’s voice trailed off at the sight of a familiar face.
“Hello Yunta.”
“Fang…”.
“Where is she?”
“I don’t know who you are referring to?” Yunta chuckled nervously.
“Don’t play games with me, Yunta.”
“I don’t know where she is, Fang?”
“I wouldn’t lie Yunta, you know that the Vythar doesn’t like liars. And an elite Void-Walker like you always knows the location of an Omega Lineage Carrier.”
“I left his clan a long time ago. I belong to the Leto!”
Fang bared his fangs as he grabbed Yunta by the throat and lifted her into the air. “No matter what you do or how many changes you under went, you will always be a-”
“Sir, sir!”
“What?!” Fang shouted to one of his crew.
“I think we might have found her, she’s with Varian right now.”
“What?! She’s here?! Where?!” Fang released Yunta, causing her to fall onto the floor with a thud.
“I can take you there sir, but there’s a problem. She’s wearing ceremonial protection armor.”
Fang’s gaze shot down to Yunta who held her throat with a smirk. “You gave her the armor?!”
“Heh….now you won’t be able to use your filthy tricks against her. And the Vythar will starve and…the next generation will cease to exist…”.
“I will come back for you later….and I promise you….you will not know the meaning of mercy” Fang hissed as he quickly rushed out of the shop to find you.
“Alright, thanks Vixen, appreciate it” Loki hung up the holo call with his boss and turned to Mangu. “You got some luck man.”
“What do you mean?”
“My boss found a suitable Carrier for you. She’s a sweet girl, wants to help out those clans in need and has offered to help you make the next generation of your clan.”
“Huh” Mangu breathed out softly, completely in disbelief of what Loki had said. “I can’t believe it.”
“You see Mangu, good things also come to aliens too” You giggled, patting his back gently.
“You have such a positive way of thinking y/n, I admire you for that” Mangu laughed alongside you.
As Loki watched from afar with a smile, he suddenly felt the air shift, as if something was coming.
“Varian” a low grumble erupted in the small alley way.
“What was that?” You gasped, clinging to Mangu.
“Mangu, take her away from here, now!” Loki shouted as he went to grab his dagger but was stopped when a blade was held against his neck out of nowhere.
“I think it’s a bit late for that now Varian” Fang’s invisible figure appeared beside Loki, his eyes darting to your direction, a wide smirk curling at the corners of his mouth. “Remember me, darlin’?”
“Fuck me…” you whispered in shock.
“I’ve come for you, and no one is going to stop me. Not even this piece of shit bounty hunter” Fang hissed as he held the knife closer to his neck. “Take her” he ordered his guards who came running into the alleyway.
“Get behind me and cover your ears!” Mangu ordered you as he swallowed a breath and began to scream loudly.
Nodding quickly, you went behind Mangu and covered your ears, wincing as the sound of the piercing scream echoed along the alleyway walls.
The guards were immediately concussed, their hands gripping their ears in pain.
Using the distraction as an advantage, Loki used both his wrists to slam down against Fang’s arm and quickly rolled out of the way.
“Argh!” Fang winced as he was shoved away. “Come here you fucker!”
Having no air left, Mangu quit screaming, his knees buckling underneath him. “R-Run” he spoke to you, out of breath.
Releasing your hands from your ears, you grabbed one of the other alien weapons and held it close to your body. “I won’t leave you.”
“Y/n…please…” Mangu said as he tried to grab you.
The other guards quickly composed themselves as they dusted their armor and charged towards you.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” you screamed as you swung their weapon, knocking one guard down.
The other guard’s gaze snapped towards his fellow comrade, shocked to see that he was taken down by a mere human. “You’re going to pay for that you little-”
“Stay away!” you screamed again, swinging the weapon again and knocked the other down.
Mangu’s eyes widened in shock, not believing that you possessed such strength to take down alien guards. “I need to take you to eat more glow shrimp.”
You let out a soft laugh, throwing the weapon on the ground and helping Mangu up.
“Loki?” you gasped, turning your gaze towards him and Fang having a titanic battle.
“Ngh—!” Fang grunted, trying to push back Loki with all his might.
Loki grunted as he fought to keep Fang at bay. “Give it up, Fang. I killed your brother. What makes you think you’ll be any harder?”
“Arghh!” Fang loudly shouted as he shoved Loki back viciously.
“Ah…ah…” Loki winced as his back hit the wall, his hands trembling to reach for his dagger.
Soon enough, Fang turned his attention to you. “Don’t make this any harder, come with me, or he dies” he pointed his weapon to Loki.
“She’s not going with you!” Mangu hissed at Fang, using his two cuffed hands to hold you.
“I’m not talking to you streckar!” (‘Streckar’ means asshole in Fang’s language).
You froze, heart hammering, searching for a next move, but your mind offered nothing.
“Very well. You chose your answer, and now I’ll choose mine” Fang lifted his heavy weapon, about to strike Loki but you screamed, charging towards him.
“No!”
Using your hidden strength, you shoved him back violently, sending him crashing into the wall across the street.
A loud gasp escaped Fang’s lips as he fell forward onto his knees. As he was about to question where your unknown strength came from, he glanced down at the ceremonial armor that you wore.
A low, menacing growl rumbled in his throat as he stood, wiping the black blood that trailed from his nose. Smoke curled toward him, and then he was gone, leaving no trace behind. Once he vanished, you rushed to Loki, your eyes immediately catching the blood dripping down his forehead.
“No, no, no, come on, you can’t die on me now!” you cried softly, grabbing a cloth from his pocket and dabbing his wound.
“We need to get him somewhere safe, I know a place, follow me” Mangu said as he helped Loki’s unconscious body up, putting one of his arms over his shoulder.
When I asked what extraterrestrials might look like, the cards didn’t come back with anything straightforward like “they look like this.” Instead, it leaned hard into the idea that what people see might not be their actual form at all.
The strongest message here is that their appearance could be altered, either by them or by how we perceive them. It doesn’t feel fixed. It feels flexible, almost like it shifts depending on who’s looking or what the situation is. Some people might see something humanoid, others might see something completely different, and both could be real in their own way. There’s a heavy sense of illusion tied into this, like the image isn’t the full truth.
There’s also a feeling that even if people have seen them, they probably didn’t realize what they were looking at. This doesn’t come across like something that stands out in an obvious way. If anything, it feels like it either blends in or gets dismissed. Like your brain almost smooths it over so it doesn’t fully register.
Now, underneath all that, there is a hint of something more defined. If their true form were seen clearly, it doesn’t feel big, bulky, or slow. It feels quick, sharp, and very precise. I kept thinking like.. it's streamlined. There’s an intelligence to it that feels really immediate, like it’s very aware of its surroundings and can move in and out fast.
And this doesn’t feel like just one type of being either. It comes across as more than a couple and that they're possibly operating in groups or at least not alone. There’s some type of shared quality to them. Whether that’s in how they look or how they present themselves.
Now, we don’t know this to be a fact, but what the cards are saying is that extraterrestrials may not have a single fixed appearance the way people expect. It could be something much more fluid, where what we're seeing isn’t necessarily what they truly are, but rather... what our minds are able to process or what they allow us to see.
So trying to pin down one solid picture of them might be the wrong approach altogether...
So me and @/ales-dark were working on our original universe with different alien races a few years ago (I wasn’t active in social media much back then, so I didn’t post it). And this month we suddenly decided to bring it back, but with redesign and overall remaking + adjusting our newest favourite ocs. So here is Delta Calixis as an alien (specifically my original race called izurrite)🙌🏻✨ a wip of a small ref sheet
