Today, I asked all my junior elite kids, one on one, “why do you swim?” and wrote down their answers. . . . The most common answer: “because it’s fun!” . . . As a coach, it’s important for me to remember that these kids are here because they think it’s fun. I love coaching for the Water Wolves! . . . It’s easy to stick to the known and stay where you’re comfortable. Leaving the comfort of a team that I loved for a new challenge and set of responsibilities was incredibly scary. Would it be worth it? What if I didn’t live up to the hype? What if I failed? What if my new swimmers didn’t like my style? What if I didn’t help them achieve their goals? Imposter syndrome fears, they’re the real deal! 😉😂 . . . I’m grateful everyday that Adam asked me to be a part of the Water Wolves. Grateful that he saw something in me that he wanted to bring to his team. I’m grateful everyday that I was fearless enough to take the risk. To leave the known and challenge myself with the unknown. I’m grateful to every parent that allows me to work with their child. Coaching is my calling and passion, and I’m grateful to have found it so young. . . .
