She has dark brown hair (shoulder-length in books 1 and 2, chin-length in book 3), light brown eyes, an average build, average height (5'6"), and lots of freckles
At the beginning of Book 1, Kira would describe herself as "average". She doesn't have low self-esteem necessarily, she just doesn't think she's anything special. By the end of Book 3... I think she's starting to like who she sees in the mirror.
Part of that is because of Unit Bravo; besides the obvious "this hot vampire finds me attractive" part of it, even the members of the team she's not romancing (I do all 4 routes with her, so the non-RO ones vary) see her as valuable and important and that does a lot to boost her confidence. Plus, after she moves into the warehouse, Nate's insistence on her eating healthier/not-takeaway meals and actually eating 3 meals a day, as well as having a regular workout schedule with Adam, makes her feel a lot more confident and comfortable in her own skin.
She even has a little muscle definition now! That's very exciting for her.
4. What is their personality like?
You know that post that's like "what do you call an introvert that keeps taking on leadership and outgoing roles?" that's Kira. She's really good with people and has about as close to a max friendliness score anyone could have, but she's actually pretty antisocial.
(her stats at the end of book 3, on Adam's route. some vary per route, but her friendliness always looks like that lmao)
for most people, she's pretty easy to get along with. approachable, good at carrying a conversation even though she won't often start them herself. once she gets close to people and starts to relax around them, she tends to be a bit of a smartass. she's like... Nate divided by Mason, if that makes sense 😅
8. What do they think of Unit Bravo?
she adores them, full stop. they're her family. she would kill or die for any of them, without hesitation (they all wish she would exhibit at least a little hesitation). they're something she didn't realize was missing in her life until she found it
by this point, I think she's even willing to admit it. "yep, those are my boys. they're terrible (except Nate), but unfortunately I love them."
Hello! From the Wayhaven Ask Questions, for Reese, M questions 1,4 and 13 plus Friendship question number 8? :)
Hey! I love these asks!! I’ve done 4 and 8 so I’ll do the others :))
M1. At current, does your detective want more with their relationship with M?
Reese absolutely wants more out of her relationship with Morgan and that’s the basis for why she’s been keeping her kind of at an arm's length. As un-self-aware as she is, Reese is at least a bit emotionally intelligent and realizes that she’s pretty much in love with Morgan and hasn’t felt as strongly about anyone else ever. Currently, she’s not extremely hopeful of there being any return on her feelings, so she’s decided to keep them to herself until either Morgan reciprocates or she gets over it (not happening). They did sleep together once, but the idea of a purely physical relationship with someone she’s in love with doesn’t sit well or feel right to Reese.
M13. Did your detective save M or Sanja? Why do you think they do so? And how are they feeling about the aftermath? (Sanja dying, M getting hurt, both being fine in the end) Do they regret their decision?
Reese chose to save Sanja at Morgan’s request. She’s very mission-oriented and in that moment she had more confidence in Morgan’s ability to defend herself against a group than she probably should have. Reese didn’t exactly experience regret over her choice, so much as a massive amount of guilt over Morgan being hurt so badly. She doesn’t know so much that she would change the choice she made, but the feelings surrounding it are so complex that this is definitely another time that she is avoiding strong and complicated negative emotions. There was definitely a lot of fear of loss surrounding that situation for her as well. Enough so that Reese did give in to Morgan’s request that she kiss her, even after promising herself she would avoid physical intimacy with her unless mutual romantic attraction was explicitly expressed.
1 for you, then 76 and 100 for each of your detectives, please?
1. How did you get into TWC?
That would be Rhi’s fault. 100% (thank you, Rhi. Also your post about UB + hugs still lives rent-free in my head :P) She was posting a lot of Wayhaven stuff last September/October and I read some of it even if I wasn’t familiar with the fandom and went “okay, this seems like a cool story”. Then it was one sale on steam for 3 bucks, which, I mean. I’d be a fool to pass that up, so I bought it, made AJ(bc *gestures at Nate* can we say MY TYPE?) and went headlong into TWC hell xD
76. Is there a song that sums up your detective’s relationship with their LI?
AJ/Nate- either Gentlemen(Daniela Andrade) or Something Just Like This(Chainsmokers/Coldplay)
Mallory/Adam- Sea Meets Earth(Fever Fever)
Janine/Felix- Love You Like the Movies(Anthem Lights)
100. If you could meet your detective, what would you say to them?
AJ, tbh, would probably just get a wink and a “Nice job” paired with a significant looks at her vampire bf cuz like I said, my type
Mallory would get me pointing out she doesn’t have to pretend she’s Superwoman all the time, she doesn’t have anything to prove, and vulnerability can be just as much a sign of strength as bottling up all that FUCKING TRAUMA (alternately, “get some damn sleep, woman”)
Janine “I’m pretty sure he loves you back, babe.” (or compliment her on all her dresses, girl has A+ fashion sense)
Kasey *clears throat*
But since I know she’d play dumb about that, probably ask for good coffee recommendations xD
1. Did N and your detective start a relationship in Book 2? Why or why not?
No, they didn't. She does really like him, but her trust issues, built up for many years, make her hesitant to take that leap. She wishes she could just let herself believe, but it's really hard :/
2. We have been told a little about N’s overprotectiveness. What are your detective’s feelings on it?
She finds it kind of endearing, but will not admit this out loud and avoids becoming reliant on it. So far, it hasn't crossed her line of overbearing.
3. Is your detective aware at this point about N’s tendency to deflect? And if so, how do they feel about it? Do they want to push it slightly, or they hoping that N will come to them when they are ready to talk?
I mean, she can hardly judge considering how she does it herself. She is aware, but doesn't want to pry when he's clearly not wanting to talk about it. If he does come to talk someday, she'll be much more likely to try to share some things about herself in return :)
Alright so this is a little complicated, but I want to know about ALL of your detectives, so: For all of them, Friendship 2; for AJ, N14; for Jeanine, F8; for Kasey, M8; for Mallory, A5?
OMG these are great, thank you!
Friendship 2. If your detective had a board game night with the team, what is one game your detective would like to play with the others?
Kasey--Clue (she wipes the floor with them. Is completely unapologetic about it. Mason is very turned on.)
AJ--Pictionary (this is how they all learn she’s actually a better than decent artist)
Mallory--Scrabble (Felix IMMEDIATELY caveats that only English words count; she and Nate are not allowed to use any from the bajillion other languages they know)
Janine--She’s actually not a big board game person. Can she say poker?
N-14. What do you think drew your detective to N? And when exactly was the moment, where it was “yes, I like them” (If they’ve admitted that to themselves, of course) And if not, what’s stopping them at this point?
His kindness. Sure, the heart-stopping good looks don’t HURT, but the first and strongest draw about Nate for AJ is how wonderfully, unfailingly kind he is. To everyone, not just people who are nice/polite back, or who have something he(they) need. EVERYONE. She was pretty sure she liked him (a lot) by her stay at the Agency facility after the thrall fight, but what really sealed the deal was him making kissy faces at that dog in Haley’s Bakery. She(and I) died a little inside at how sweet that was, and it was a very clear confirmation that she like-liked him.
F-8. If your detective is the type to have pictures in their phone contacts, what kind of picture do they have for F?
Janine definitely has contacts pictures. For everyone.(yes, everyone. Mason still doesn’t know she actually got a half decent one of him, and he never will :3) Felix is one of two things:
A) a picture of him balancing something small and light--one of those origami mice he gave her, maybe--on his nose. It’s slightly blurry bc she was laughing too hard to hold the phone still.
B) a selfie of the two of them giving each other bunny ears while she kisses him on the cheek
M-8. Personally, how do you think your detective will react when M admits they have deeper feelings for the detective?
The answer will vary greatly depending on if Kasey’s over her denial by the time Mason admits to deeper feelings.
If she’s not, it would honestly scare her a little. Bc the next--obvious--question is if she reciprocates or not. Part of her knows the answer is yes and the rest of her is trying to bury that part as far from the light of day as possible. She’s been burned by friends(Bobby’s not the only one, just the one that hurt the most), so letting someone even closer than that is mildly terrifying. She’d probably ask for a few days to process it--making it clear this is her dealing with her own issues/feelings, not anything about Mason--and kiss him real deep and long before one of them leaves. Wrestles with herself for those few days and ultimately Mason confessing to deeper feelings is what leads to Kasey acknowledging her feelings for him are more than just “Hot vampire who’s fucking amazing(PUN INTENDED) in bed.” Terrifying as it is to take that leap, she knows he’s loyalty personified and the odds of him doing anything that would hurt her are functionally zero, so she admits back that she has deeper feelings for him.
If she IS over her denial, and has just been sitting on the fact she likes/loves him(depending on how long it takes him to admit Feelings) bc she wants to give him time and lbr, the sex is fantastic, so that’s good enough for her right now (there is a REASON they’re my HORNY Idiots, and it’s not just Mason xD), he’s probably getting a snarky remark along the lines of “Took you long enough, sunshine.” There is kissing. Lots of extremely passionate kissing that starts with mouths but doesn’t stay there and it does eventually move to sex, but they take their time getting to that. And Mason doesn’t leave right after. They’re not cuddling or anything, just both there.(He’s still there when she wakes up in the morning, and the silly little skip her heart gives almost has her hiding her head under the pillow bc god when did she become such a sap?!)
A-5. Saying that A has the carnival picture, how do you think your detective will react once they find out they have it?
ooooof ohboy. That’ll depend a little on where he keeps it. Like, is it in a drawer and he tries to ignore its presence and has almost thrown it out several times but something always stops him? Is it framed? Folded up in his pocket?
Regardless of... that, she’d definitely get a little heart squeeze and hear Adam’s “This is... just for show” in her head. And then wonder Was it? bc keeping the photo seems to imply it meant more to him than that. She would feel... encouraged isn’t quite the right word.... justified? in continuing to hold her feelings for him. She’s not acting on them bc he seems so determined to deny he feels any sort of attraction toward her. Finding out he kept the picture--especially if it’s somewhere like in his pocket--would shout almost as loud as the infamous “Tu Omnia”.that he does.
How she finds out he has it would be the determining factor in if they talk about it or continue stewing in borderline-denial where Adam won’t admit he’s attracted to Mallory and Mallory won’t do anything with the fact she likes him bc clearly it’s not something he wants.
trying to find questions on the wayhaven asks I don't already know the answer to... how about 24, 35, 51, 52, aaaand 65, for all four girls or the girl(s) of your choice 💖
lol, yeah, you do know a lot about my girls already
24. Is your detective comfortable around supernaturals?
Yep for all four. Certain kinds of supernaturals might give them issues(AJ’s gonna be a little... hesitant around demons, and Janine probably will be too once she picks up on how uneasy they make Felix, empath that she is, Mallory kinda side-eyes werewolves sorry Unit Alpha), but the supernatural in general they’re very okay with. Janine’s the only one flay out excited about it, but all of them are relatively comfortable.
35. Is there something you do in every TWC playthrough, no matter what?
Oh, several things
shoot Adam outside the warehouse
good relationship with Rebecca
interview the witness so I can make the “pizza delivery” crack and Mason will like me
the dialogue that lets you make paper airplanes with Felix
Save Sanja(except for one run each with Janine and Kasey bc I was curious what convos you might get. And then Mason flat-out killed me AND Kasey with the saying she looked like a supermodel thing.)
Detective-specific things
Janine always does the sideshow at the carnival so she can give Felix the unicorn necklace
Mallory ALWAYS headbutts Murphy
AJ always initiates the kiss with Nate on the Ferris wheel
Kasey always takes the “What’re you gonna do, go all vampire?” dialogue and always takes initiative the first intimate scene with Mason
51. Describe your detective in one word.
AJ// Sweet
Mallory// Tough
Janine// Engaging
Kasey// Sarcastic
52. Describe your detective’s relationship with their LI in one word.
ooof. let’s see. These are all as of the end to Book 2, not taking into account :) anything:) from the book 3 :) demo.
AJ/Nate- Comfortable
Mallory/Adam- Stubborn
Janine/Felix- Adoration
Kasey-Mason-Hot
65. Describe your detective’s dream date with their LI.
AJ and Nate have already had it several times; them + the library + several hours with just the two of them all curled up together reading.
Mallory and Adam... tbh what Mallory would consider a dream date wouldn’t be possible unless she gets turned; she wants to have an equal-footing, no holds barred sparring match with him so freaking bad. (kicking ass is her idea of a good time, sue her xD)
Janine and Felix aren’t picky, tbh, Anything that lets them relax and spend time together away from work. Carnival, theme park, dinner and a movie, they don’t really care.
Kasey and Mason... if you made them go on an actual “date” rn would probably do the hiding/sulking in a corner at the bar thing for an hour or two tops, then back to Kasey’s place for some very good probably very loud sex.
"Hi, Lara! What's one thing about Nate, or what is one thing that he does, that just makes you smile silly??"
Thank you for the ask! ❤️
"Ohh, that's hard. Just one thing?" She taps her fingers on her chin for a few seconds. "I'll have to say just, you know, the way he just cares about people." She smiles. "And dogs, and cats, just... everyone."
Hi! Can you answer M 4 & 5, and Friendship 8? Thanks!
M4. How do you think your detective will react when learning that they calm M’s hypersenses?
Reese would do her best to be as casual as possible about it. She herself really hates when people make a big deal of personal challenges (emotions, physical, etc.) and she would most likely view Morgan’s hypersensitivity in a similar way. She’d take it upon herself to maybe stick closer in potentially aggravating situations, but unless Morgan expressed she was fine with it or wanted it, Reese would go about it in as subtle a way as possible. If the desire were expressed though, she absolutely wouldn’t hesitate to hang around as much as possible without irritating anybody. Inwardly though, she’s a hopeless romantic and would definitely be at least a little bit flattered past the pure shock of that realization.
M5. Saying that M has the carnival picture, how do you think your detective will react once they find out they have it?
If Reese ever finds out that Morgan still has the picture, it will definitely be a surprise to her. As emotionally invested as she is in Morgan, Reese doesn’t perceive a shared romantic interest (at least at this point) and would be surprised to learn that Morgan felt sentimental enough about that night to keep the photo. She’s trying very hard to keep her romantic feelings to herself so long as they supposedly aren’t reciprocated and to know that Morgan cared even that much would likely make that even harder for her than it is already.
Friendship 8. Does your detective view the team as a “found family” at this point, or are they still hesitant? And to either way, why?
Reese is very slow to form friendships, especially in professional settings. She very much has a work personality and a life personality and they stay very separate. Her very sudden and very strong feelings over Morgan were a huge shock to her. She’s definitely beginning to see Unit Bravo more as friends than colleagues, but she really hasn’t hit any sort of “found family” feelings yet. She grew up being fiercely independent as a coping mechanism for being lonely, which she has never really recognized. She’s very much not in tune with her own negative feelings and trauma, definitely represses them even unconsciously to present as though she's “fine” pretty much all the time. She absolutely refuses to acknowledge it, but she has a deep-seated fear of abandonment. Relationships with a basis in professionalism like the one she has with Ava are much easier for her to keep than ones just based on casual friendship, like with Nat or Farah. That’s not to say she’ll never be fully open and available for that, she’s very much on her way there, it just takes her longer and that can come off to some as coldness or disinterest.
