Was it just a dream or was there a show on Nickelodeon about wayside school?
real story arcs from a children’s book series
girl gets shit stomped into purgatory with people who don’t exist and is told she might be in hell
a vengeful, psychic woman pits a classroom of children against each other and considers committing an act of infanticide
"Welcome to Nightvale" is like the Wayside School stories, only for grown-ups.
so Michael Cera's voice was my childhood
he was in the show Braceface
Rolie Polie Olie
The Berenstain Bears
and Wayside Stories (only the pilot though)
Does anyone remember the Wayside book series? Like Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Wayside School is Falling Down and Wayside School Gets A Little Stranger
I remember really loving those books. They had a surreal sense of humor. No 13th floor, yet its taught by the non-existent Miss Zarves. Weird ass shit going down and everyone sorta just rolling with it. Arithmetic with words.
I wish there was a movie based around it, that would be crazy awesome. Directed by Terry Gilliam...yeah. That would be sweeeet.
All the lessons I need in life I learned from these books:
Lost socks can be found in the fridge
Get tattoos of things you'll always love (like potatoes, or in my case, pizza)
You need a reason to be sad, but you don't need a reason to be happy
Watch out for dead rats; they are tricky
Etc...
