WBAL-TV covered the investigations into AGVA, the live performer's union that had all major nightclubs in the country under its jurisdiction. The hearings exposed the union as a front for the Mafia - and an elaborate white slavery ring. Two comedians - Jackie Bright and Joey Adams - were in charge of the union at the time and both were grilled by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee. It destroyed AGVA's reputation forever.
