A generations-old organization from a multi-cultural city and Suo is an officer. I’m shook but I love how this short exchange confirmed so many things about Suo, his identity, and his history that we’ve been speculating.

In relation to the Suo arc, but not only, can we all agree that there’s some sort of parallel between Suo and Kiryu ? In no particular order :

- They’re both deemed as the mature/calm one in their relationship with other characters

- They both went through some sort of martial art training (Suo and his master, Kiryu due to his family)

- They both take care of their appearance but it seems like it’s for different reasons

- They have à similar relationship with strength: its something that has to be handled w responsability

- They both have conflictual relationships with immature people and has a rough meeting w Tsugeura (but it got better on Kiryu’s side)

- It looks like Kiryu is naturally taking the role of the mature one in Suo’s absence (like when he calms Sakura down in the Park scene)

- Suo leaves right after Kiryu’s character arc

Thats all i have but if you have more than this PLEASE tell me. Those two are haunting me

It always amuses me whenever I remember how Endo acted like he had to destroy the whole fucking town just to earn Chika’s love when in fact TAKIISHI CHIKA ALREADY LIVING IN HIS PLACE AND WEARING HIS CLOTHES 😭

Okay so i was really curious about what the restaurant’s name means, so i tried looking up the characters separately on multiple online dictionaries (as imo it’s obvious that some details of the restaurant are connected to Suo’s personality/storyline).

I tried my very best to check out trustworthy sources, but please note that i’m not 100% sure about the accuracy of these translations since i don’t know any chinese myself!

玄 (adjective) could mean black, profound, distant, unreliable, or mysterious

摟 (verb) was much harder to find, and the meanings vary greatly, but i thinks these are the translations which could fit the story

to hug, to embrace, to drag, to pull, to hold in one’s arms (as a way of making them feel better)

In this case, if the intention was to use 玄 as a reference/substitute for Suo, then i think 摟 might indicate his desire to be held, OR that there’s going to be a scene where Suo gets a hug in this arc.

However, 摟 could also mean:

to gather up (one’s gown, sleeves etc) <- imo this translation doesn’t really fit the narrative

to grab/rake in money, to extort, to gather, to draw towards oneself <- if we interpret 摟 this way, it probably refers to Suo’s background, as in him being extorted or trapped in a situation where money’s involved.

Honestly, it could mean that there’s some truth to the “trapped in slavery” theory. Or maybe even the “mafia ties” theories (though i’m a tiny bit skeptical about this one).

Alternatively, i think it could also make sense if 玄 was not a reference to Suo, but to his master instead. I mean we’ve only seen him once in Suo’s memories, and he seems very distant and mysterious.

Then 摟 could mean that this is the person who is extorting Suo, or contrarily, if i use the other meanings for 摟 (to hug, embrace, etc) it would indicate that this master is a positive presence in Suo’s life or maybe that Suo wishes to be closer to them…

So idk. Lot’s of possibilities.

I also tried searching up 玄摟 together, but i couldn’t find anything substantial unfortunately:/

EDIT: @live-with-love pointed it out that the character seems to be 楼 (meaning building, especially storied buildings) instead of 摟!! So please never mind my theories lmao

Additionally, i was curious about the translation of this wall decoration as well, but i’m not sure if i found the right character…

If it’s 来 then the translation would be come, coming, return, returning

fingers crossed that 来 is indeed the correct character, and eventually Suo’ll return to Furin :’)

the amount of back imagery we have for suo is way too much not to have his tattoo be on his back. and dont even mention the fact we have never seen the back of that boy’s neck it is NOT lost on me

something i especially like about this trio is how theyre insecure about being w eachother in their own way. sakuras fear of being rejected or willingly rely on them and hate being weak. nirei feeling like he wasnt good enough cause he cant fight. suo with his ominous "i could never catch up to you sakura" and theories of him being close but keeping an emotional distance ab himself. very cool

As much as I wish Suo's master would be good to him, I can't help but feel like we're going to get a parallel between Suo finally finding the mental/emotional strength to stand up to his master after Nirei stands up to him. Like, Nirei's resilience and courage is immense, if Suo challenged him "I'll only come back to Furin if you beat me in a fight.", Nirei would try it until he passes out or is tackled on the ground and dragged away from the fight.
