Music has evolved, obviously. Much like we get inspired by classical music and create new mixes and versions just like thr rise of bardcore and such...
There are three types of music mainly, atemporal or eternal music, classical and modern.
The first is what we consider classical music, Bach, Bethoven, Mozart, Waltzes, operas.
Homer loves those.
Christine loves classical music, which is nowdays music. She lives on top of a store from the recoding and music guild, they don't mind the ruckus.
And then there is modern music.
Mostly it is the result of a collaboration of the multimuscians, the AI and the guild master that fills the role of a producer.
Most instruments are not real, those are hard to come by since the dark ages, but the AIs create a digital facsimile that the multimuscians olay either with hard light technology or implants on their hands.
Each of them has to master at least 3 instruments before being allowed to perform, the AI doesn't have the capacity for improvisation nor a lot of creativity but can follow the directions of a talented multimuscian, after they play a tune they leave the control to the AI and move to another instrument and another creating a one man band.
Some of the most proficient in a certsin instrument are allowed to become a master in that specific instrument and are exclusive performers of the ruling Families.
Speaking of which. Thr Families like to throw decadent parties, the children are taught from a young age how to dance and waltz properly and frown upon classical and modern music.
But despite that, Homer, Virgil and many others find ways to go to concerts of modern and music and find records of classical music in the information banks.
That is within the cities.
Outside the walls the tribes and villages create their own kind of music and instruments since the second dark ages and keep performing it and sharing them among themselves.
There are rites related to music, itinerary bards and even delegations that send their musicians to share their micro cultures amidst the deserts, mines and valleys filled with monsters.
