      In the middle of studying with Tommy, Kelsey got up and turned around to face him, leaning against a chair. “I can’t concentrate right now.” She confessed, looking at him a little bit. There was so much going on inside of her, feelings that she didn’t want to feel, guilt for feeling this way while with Jared, and most of all confusion. Studying with Tommy didn’t feel the same anymore. It was no longer friendly and platonic. In fact, it felt like the exact opposite to Kels, but she was sure he probably didn’t feel that same tense feeling that she did. Grayson couldn’t stop herself from stealing glances every so often and it sucked because he probably just saw her as a friend, and well, not only was he her best friend, but he was also best friends with her boyfriend, Jared. 

     I think we should take a break from the books, the brunette thought initially, but then she had a second thought saying: And do what? Make out? Kelsey blushed at the thought and went to the house kitchen to get herself a glass of water. “Would you like anything to drink or eat?” She asked in a loud whisper, trying not to wake her roommate’s daughter Grace. It was weird living with a man she barely really talked to, with a somewhat loud but very cute baby. Charlton really outdid themselves with his project. She just wants him to be her roommate at this point. A least they’d have fun and she wouldn’t have to worry so much about a baby crying if they’re woken up. Kels prepared them both a glass of water before breaking her dark cholate in equal pieces and setting it up on a plate with a dollop of peanut butter. Making her way back to where they were studying, she placed the dark chocolate and glass of ice water before  smiling at him with a chuckle, “It’s for hydration and energy.” Kels explained as she sat down and tried to actually pay attention to her work this time. Taking little bites and sips in between, she found her eyes still finding their way to him. God this was so frustrating, Kelsey thought as she knew that she was being a bad friend and mentally cheating on her boyfriend. Naturally, the journalist suppressed her feelings on the way she felt toward Tommy, it was simply for the best. @wcfall

      It was the last day of their summer break before they had to return to campus and move in all over again. It was also a day where Brianna felt off. Sure they had discussed what happened with Maia after the spring formal, but knowing that she’d have to see her again was hard. Seeing her gave Brianna so much anxiety. If she ever wanted to hex someone, itd be her. But she only jokingly did that as a child to her bullies and now, knowing the gravity of hexing someone truly, she didn’t want to ruin her life, she just, wanted her to stay the hell away from them. “I really don’t want to go back to school tomorrow,” Bri admitted with a deep sigh, cuddling up to him closer as she bit her lip and snuggled up to him. “I mostly don’t want to see her or hear your cousin talk about her. I just want to erase her from my life. I don’t know how you feel about her, but I don’t want to be near her.” Maybe she was saying too much, that had already resolved this, and she hated talking about Maia, but Brianna was also very comfortable with her boyfriend Tommy and she knew he wouldn’t be mean to her. 

        She worried about that so much... people being mean to her. Not that Tommy was, but she was still insecure on that aspect. Looking up at him to gauge his reaction to her words, the brunette pursed her lips and kissed his jaw quickly. “I’m sorry, I know this is awkward for you,” Bri whispered looking up at her bedroom ceiling. Her room filled with boxes for her dorm tomorrow. She was going to miss these moments happening so often with him. Not having to worry about school work and his DJing gigs combined with that from time to time. They always made time for each other, she knew that, but it was so nice having the summer to themselves. Even if it started off a little rocky. @wcfall

                                                                                  Kiss me, under the milky twilight...

Kelsey waited for Tommy to come over after his text, biting her lip in worry as she thought of what could’ve possibly went down during his hangout with Jared. He seemed, off? and then a vague text from Jared reading, “Hope you’re happy.” She didn’t exactly know what he meant by that, and until Tommy came over she didn’t care to reply to him. She figured Tommy chose to take her side on the situation which she was sure was hard considering they were all best friends. Well, in exception to her and Jared. Poor Larsen was stuck in the middle of the two. 

When there was motion at the front door Kelsey sprung up from the living room couch to open it swiftly, not even saying hi, just stepping aside and letting him inside. Maybe it was she was anxious to see him, maybe it was because she didn’t want the doorbell to disturb her roommate Gabe and his daughter Grace. EIther way, she was happy to see him. However, by his demeanor and smell she could tell he’s been drinking. “You alright?” Kelsey asked softly, not wanting to get on him about it just yet. He looked like he’s had just about enough that night. 

“Want me to get you anything? Water? Coffee? Sandwich?” Overall, she just wanted to sober him up a bit.

     Opening up was something Jared found himself laughing at most times. While he would agree that Kelsey was a sweet, intelligent, good looking woman—he’s even go as far to say that they did indeed have a connection... he just couldn’t bring himself to fight for the journalist. That’s not what bothered him though, he was used to blocking people out, girls especially. What bothered the young scholar was the incriminating amount of moral rules he had broken before getting to this conclusion with the brunette. What bothered him was the cruel confrontation of fucking up and knowing that he had fucked up. He should’ve never taken it as far as he did with Grayson, but he did and here he was at the bar of a club waiting for their mutual best friend Tommy to come accompany him. 

Jared Hamilton felt pathetic and he wondered if anyone else could smell it on him like the two shots of generic tequila he just downed. His green eyes looked around the bar and he analyzed everyone surrounding him as he waited. People watching wasn’t something he usually did—he couldn’t give a fuck about most people usually, but it was far better than texting Tom like a clingy partner that just wouldn’t get the fucking clue. Everyone else seemed so into the person in front of them... made him wonder if he looked like that while trying to pick out what Tommy would call his “next victim”. The thought of this made him smile the slightest bit before asking for a beer instead of another shot. 

Hamilton finally felt the familiar presence of his best friend and ran his fingers through his hair, smiling quaintly at the bartender once he received his pint and bit his lip. “Before you say anything, i know I fucked up, so let’s just void any traces of that lecture all together.” He caused and brought the pint to his lips. “I don’t want to talk about that.” Or her, for that matter, but he knew the subject of Kelsey Grayson was inevitable so he didn’t bother.
