We Break

At some point we break

we break promises that were written in stone

we take a break from those who make our hearts ache

the weight of the world will break our bones if we try to make it out on our own

broken people in a bitter world will not better society 

fix and repair the debts and the duos you’ve left

find a cure to the word hate and let’s break the walls we’ve put up between each other

let’s break the earth below our feet to let gardens grow where sorrows used to live

as the flowers creep up your arms, over your hands, and into your lips

you thought your touch and words could only break things 

                                                                                   you were wrong

                                                                               you have beauty in you

                                                                              because like a geode split open

                                                                             broken can be beautiful too
