I think as long as the proper warnings are there, then you can get rid of the genre. I don't think anyone would start reading mlt in the middle of it so I think by the time they get caught up, they'll known the genre.

today’s infulx of the waffle house AUs managed to encompass all the basic genres of fanfiction, this au is like a microcosmos of what is currently being written and i just love it, i love looking at it and thinking about it and thinking about how are people going to look at it in the future, and how i’m going to teach a literature class about the culture of fanfiction at my uni in 50 years and one of the weeks we are going to dedicate specifically to this one particular day in the reylo fandom, the day when waffle house AU emerged, ,,
