“purity culture is harmful because it teaches kids that our bodies are a taboo subject and are something to be feared”
and
“kids should not be exposed to darkship content because it can cause them to think that it’s normal in real life”
ARE statements that can coexist
This is not purity culture (we think). But we have thoughts.
Kids are going to come across those types of things in life rather anyone likes it or not.
We (the mod) are a minor and found fanfiction at 11-years-old and dark fiction shortly after, thankfully our parent taught us what is/isn't okay irl (like rape is bad, consent is good, murder is bad, self defense is good etc) so we knew that what we were reading wasn't something okay if it were to happen in real life.
We think that trying to shelter kids (of any age) from this type of fiction or media can do more harm than good, best thing to do (in our opinion) is teach them that not everything in fiction is good in real life so if/when they come across dark fiction/ships they know that it isn't normal irl.
call us a switch the way we. um. the way we, y'know?
Making a new enemy for Vikings on Trampolines. The Chapfish will definitely… be something!
i 100% believe feuilly is the most underrated amis in the us tour because he has SO much tension and history with grantaire that no one ever brings up???

omg i now understand why some people were confused/surprised, even after reading the brick, to learn that fantine et al. rode a roller coaster on their day out....hapgood strikes again 😭
of course, if you don't speak french, why on earth would you associate the phrase 'russian mountains' with a roller coaster? what is this translation choice? i'm thinking she honestly didn't know what it was and just translated it literally.
