Yesterday, something magical happened at my new house. Out of nowhere, Petey just jumped up and started wagging her tail and barking, and she started running around all playful and frisky... she was sooooooo happy!! I didn't realize the toll it took on her living in our old house, but the change in her, since we moved in here, is huge!!! She was like a puppy again, and she did it again this morning. Dogs know things, and she knows that I'm healing and I'm happier and we're where we belong, now. It was such a beautiful sight to behold!!! To be honest, I haven't ever seen her that happy!! Seeing her like that made me even happier than I already was!!! We have our routine here and we take several walks a day and play with her big purple ball and, well, we do everything together!!! We have a great time every day!! Things are getting so much better all the time. I should've left years ago, but I had to try everything several times and then try again to make sure that I'd have no regrets or guilt, and I could move forward in peace. I don't like to quit on anything or anyone, but you can't help someone who refuses to admit there's a problem and refuses all help... so my only option left was to help Petey and me, and I did. Every day here has been a gift. Bad times are great because you need them for contrast to recognize the good times... we have had a lot of contrast so we know how good things are, now. There's beauty in everything and that's one of the beautiful parts of hell. I'm so grateful to Petey for showing me how good things are and for telling me, in her own way, that she's so happy here!!! That right there, makes everything beautiful for me!!! Times are hard here, but no matter how hard they get, it's always going to be easier than staying where we didn't belong. Petey is running around again so it's time to play with her big purple ball and stop posting... this is one of the best parts of our day... and, there are so many times like this every day here!! one of my fears for @ask-emilz-de-philz is if emilio suddenly gets a migraine or something when he sees something even remotely connected to his past with Mayari and Apolaki and he takes a day off or something and he looks into the mirror and sees a reflection of himself he barely recognizes and the first thing he thinks is “what would they think of me now”

and after that he tries to relax himself or something and everyone’s in the living room, Luzon Visayas and Mindanao, Manila, Cebu and Davao are also there to tell him that it’s okay, they’re in pain too but if he doesn’t remember then it’s alright

and it’s okay to feel that way. it takes time, because time took a lot away from him too

honestly i just want angst and fluff and anything really bc i get those moments too whenever i pass the national museum or intramuros and all i wanna do is cry even when im commuting honestly

sometimes I am so afraid of not being enough that I refrain from being anything

so it’s almost been six years since my nana died and for the longest time my mom and i couldn’t even be on the same side of town as her house much less go inside and be there but something inside both of us synced up and flipped a switch and a month ago we started going over there every night after work

we’re painting, cleaning, clearing everything out, redecoration, doing some repair work, etc. it feels so good. it feels so good to not be afraid of the place that was once my home.

 today we went driving around and we went over (this was the first time we’ve gone during the day in a while) and we just sat in the driveway with the windows down and it was so nice.

it’s starting to feel like home again.
