Legacies Season 4: Episode: 8= C- (what is happening!?)
Sorry, I'm late! Exam Week sucked the life out of me...just like this week's episode honestly.
What the hell happened guys! It was going so well! Now we have Grey's Anatomy AU and Alaric, not dead, trying to come back.
I didn't want to see another therapy box. I really didn't. The premise was cute, I guess. Nothing I didn't already know. Josie always thought Hope was better than her. Lizzie thought the same. Hell! Every kid at SBS probably thought it too. Why? Oh, gee, I don't know, maybe because Alaric doesn't waste a breath telling the girls they aren't strong enough and has never missed a beat telling Hope she's stronger and better. Did we honestly sit around and think those types of labels repeated through childhood into adulthood weren't going to stick on their subconsciousness? Josie is willing to let her own life fall to ruin for Hope, while Lizzie is ready to kill the problem and go on about her merrily day. I love that Lizzie is ready and prepared and seems to be the only one thinking proactive.
Also, Josie as a doctor...I appreciate the parallel they are trying to make with Josette. However, how is this still not Josie trying to live up to a different legacy entirely? I am hard-pressed to believe Josie wants to be a doctor, for any reason except that Alaric most likely told her all about bio-mom and her work as one. There are other ways to help people, and Josie does fit the mold to be a helper, just not as the basic stereotyped doctor gig.
Okay, so watching Hope take down 2 out of 3 of Triad was entertaining. I see a lot of people saying Hayley would be proud of the wolf thing. Well, her daughter's humanity is off, so, maybe not fully proud. Hope saying ''we're wolves, not royalty.'' Hayley would argue with her and even tell her to allow it. How many times in TO did they put emphasis on the royalty/nobility of Hayley's pack and werewolves as a species. Hope completely just dismissed it. Also, she's not running the wolves. She needed them for information and quite honestly, most likely is going to abandon them right afterward. Hope didn't want to be the Alpha of the school and she's known those kids for years. Sorry, but I don't see her taking up the mantle with the Triad wolves. Just getting information and doing/saying what needs to be said, so they don't riot and come after her. Sorry for those looking for a parallel but, this isn't some mommy Hayley Marshall -ish. This is straight-up Klaus Mikaelson's behavior.
Hope not thinking before she acts. Surprise, surprise.
You all were right. Aurora DeMartel for the win. Though in my defense. This Aurora is a lot saner than she was in The Originals. More stable and not all over the place. Love the easter bunnies from TO with Papa Tunde's blade and whatnot. I also...and don't come at me...love that Hope didn't win. Hear me out! We have all been waiting for the tribrid, great, she's here. That suspense is gone. Were we all just going to see episode after episode of Hope kicking ass with no plot or difficulties? That's boring. That's not entertaining. That's a sitcom. Having Aurora body-jump into Hope and now having that element of 'wow someone can still get the jump over the most powerful creature.'' It's why we were all entertained when it was Davina v Klaus or Marcel and the vamps v Klaus and the Mikaelsons. It was entertaining because they followed ''Even the Greats have to Fall.'' This was mind-boggling to us when TVD has shown us, this was the family that couldn't be beaten. So, while yea, it sucks that Hope isn't in her body and Lizzie most likely will be facing Aurora and not Hope (though I have faith Lizzie will figure out that mess. She is the one to figure out most things without magic and just using her brain)
Dana's mom was speaking facts. Alaric is a dick.
Still not into the Ethan/Lizzie/MG thing. Especially since this is looking more like either it's leading to them competing for her affections or everything coming to a head, and it all becomes too much, and they want to back out. Which is the most likely. Lizzie and MG have had a lot of growth since season 1 and if Lizzie is about to be the Bachelorette pinning MG and Ethan against each other to do whatever she wants them to do. No. Not going to watch. I also think MG wouldn't let himself go back to that place with Lizzie either. Lizzie, who just this season, explained that she wanted a real, healthy, sustainable relationship wouldn't base it off on playing games either. Ethan for his part seems to really cherish his friendship with MG and isn't looking to ruin it, case in point, Lizzie has to scramble his memories.
How very TVD of them. Burning trees before you double-check that someone didn't come to grab a stick.
This whole premise of better supernaturals just feels so.... child-like! Mind you! The teenagers on here now, are the same ages as Caroline, Bonnie, Matt, Tyler, and Elena were in TVD and they displayed vampirism with a whole lot more pride and power. This feels like such a water-downed version of supernaturals I'm used to in this universe. I know the whole show was supposed to be lighter to that effect, but I want the darkness back.
Really...Ted the doctor is called Dr. Death. Yea, I get it, he kills careers, but also, there is a literal Dr. Death in real life that just got a show on Peacock made about his life. The incompetent doctor that mutilated patients in surgery. Have some tact. They could have still called him the Necromancer for the same reason.
Do we really want Handon back? Let's think hard on this?
Props to FInch for staying by Josie's side. Though, Josie looks like she's about to be the one to high tail it out of their relationship.
Props to Cleo for coming clean. I liked the way she did it. Told the ''leader,'' got his vote and on his side, then proceeded to tell them one by one.
What do you think Hope will be like with her humanity back on? Elena focused on hatred for Katherine and more or less let all her sins on others be old news by not acknowledging it, and then falling back into friendship?
Or will she be Caroline? Triggered to turn it back on and then feel sorrow and regret her decisions but throw herself into something new and figure out life from there?
I think it will be both. Yet, different. Hope's trauma isn't going to let her have that easy of an opening to come back into.
This wasn't the episode. I just wasn't in it. We'll see next week. Maybe Aurora wreaking havoc in Hope's body will bring me back to life with this show. I don't think no humanity!Hope will go to the Squad for help, but the preview did show a Lizzie/Hope talk. Fingers crossed.
See you then.
