i am so interested in seeing how this (non-)apology happens depending on the personality of the detective, the dynamic between them and M, and how the detective reacted to that comment. like the ‘apology’ scene that alex gets is going to look wildly different to the ‘apology’ scene that winter gets, and i’m excited to compare notes. 👀

i hope for alex’s sake that she can keep M out of tina’s dinner party. winter doesn’t have to worry about that because it’s just going to be her, tina, and verda, so she can lick her wounds privately lmao

camping wip?! <3

Adam somehow convinced the rest of the team that a survivalist camping trip was a good way to hone their skills.  Dee Dee and Nate get lost (”we’re not lost, we just don’t know where we’re currently located”/”Dee, that’s...we’re lost.”) during a hike and Dee’s dormant Girl Scout survival skills activated.  It’s not the coziest or most romantic of situations, but hey, Nate can say that he has a girlfriend who can make a pretty effective M funnel fish trap to catch them dinner and instruct him on how to construct a shelter from the rain that’s coming in while she builds a fire.

Mason and Felix actually talked Adam into heading back to civilization ten minutes into the planned 20 mile overnight hike to give the lovebirds some privacy.  Felix even got a trip to the nearest McDonald’s in on the way home.

of course something comes to mind, are you kidding me?! you’re one of my fave writers in general and one of my fave detective x mason writers in particular <3

my fave of your last 10 works is chicken scratch, the response to meggers’s anonymous valentine note to alex. i know you said it was an experimental style, but it works so well (and i’m not saying that only because i myself am a slut for parentheses lmao). it very effectively builds up tension, shows her thought process, and really digs into the internal fight she’s having with herself. your use of first person when writing alex is amazing; you make her come alive and feel real, and that includes the very messy, often contradictory, painful but still quietly hopeful (moving on, moving forward) processing of her abuse.

you just—you handle this topic so well and so delicately but at the same time you don’t shy away from how ugly abuse is and its long-term effects on those that survive it. alex and mason’s dynamic is one of my hands-down fave detective x m dynamics because of how she responds to him, because of how he treats her, the agency and the care involved, and this fic really encapsulates that for me. genuinely brilliant <3

soft headcanons, let's see... i think M is absolutely amazing at giving massages. like, with their hypersenses, knowing *exactly* where the muscle knots are and *exactly* how hard to press and *exactly* how long to hold pressure before it starts edging into pain. just--perfect every time. and i think mason starts giving them to alex weekly, friday nights after picking her up from work, when he finally notices just how much damn tension she carries in her body.
