Ideas for Deadlock CircusFreak:

Victor joins the Coney Island carnies as an "escape artist." He does deadly stunts on stage which he is only able to survive because of his undead nature. Of course he has to keep that a secret, otherwise his performance will be less impressive. Celeste grows concerned about her fellow performer after one stunt goes horribly wrong. After a quick reassembly, Victor let's her know the truth about himself. In turn, Celeste reveals the truth about herself as a unicorn. This bonds them together.

I like the idea of Victor periodically leaving the circus to pursue leads on his body, with Celeste following along. But I also like Celeste encouraging Victor to start thinking about his own future and manage his pain.

but yes !! i also had a similar idea that she'd ask him to join the circus bc they needed a death defying act. i was really hoping there would be some interaction with them in the game but all we got is celeste getting annoyed that he's an uptight corpse that doesn't smile whenever she kills him 🤣 so her inviting him to the circus to join or to come watch so that maybe he'd turn that smile upside down would feel right

and i totally agree, i think she would definitely encourage him to think that his parts make him whole rather than an abomination. misfits in different ways but struggle the same c:

Important Vindicta Lore: she apparently hums a few bars of the song Simple Gifts which was sung by the Shakers. That was a real world Christian Puritan sect that had some interesting ideas...

If Vindicta was raised by the Shakers, she would have been taught that all people are equal, oppressive hierarchies and sexual reproduction are evil, and that Jesus Christ and the end of days was coming soon.

I still need to do some more research on the Shakers and their involvement with the Salem Witch Trials. But I hope this information gives you something useful for her character.

And that's interesting part, Salem Witch trials were some 50 years BEFORE Shakers, and ''Simple Gifts'' was written in 1848 which is whole 150 years after Salem trials, which makes me think she wasn't Shaker herself but It's possible she came across it after she was returned to mortal plane during first Maelstorm. And one interesting tidbit I found was that ''Simple Gifts'' tune was used in ''Appalachian Spring'' ballet, which was playing during 1940ties in DC, and it's fact by now that Deadlock is set during 40ties! So what I had imagined with that was, that she saw the ballet herself and fell in love with the tune. C: But yeah, I understand where her character design and all was inspired from, like I said few times before, it's just my conjecture and way my brain pieces information and it seems some parts don't align. But we won't know until they add more responses from her.

So I've got questions about your oc, Juliet Dredge... Which of the islands is her favorite? Which is her least favorite? If she was an NPC in the game, what would her questline be like? What rewards would she give out? Would there be a special monster connected to her somehow?

Ooooh so many question!

She likes fishing near the Gale cliffs and the Marrows are home. She’s also quite fond of the Stellar Basin. The sky is so pretty (no one knows she likes it).

She hates Twisted Strand. Too many mosquitos. Swamp/10 wouldn’t recommend.

As for a questline: she’s doesn’t like asking for help but it would probably involve discovering some mysteries about the cultist people and aberration items. She thinks they’re…interesting.

She doesn’t have that much money but would probably offer some random items she dredged up. Maybe a book about the horrors. Or a zippo lighter (it’s broken).

No special monster but she has a bit of a fixation for Bloodskin sharks. She doesn’t like them. Or maybe she does. It’s hard to tell really.

You were curious what Iron lung is, so I will info-dump on you: It's a cosmic horror game where you are trapped inside of a space station habitat thats been re-purposed as a submarine to explore an ocean of blood on an otherwise lifeless moon. In order to navigate, you need to cross reference three things: a map with a lot of blank spots on it, the geo-positioning data on the "sub" control panel, and the Polaroid-Instant-Photo-esque camera mounted on the front of the sub. As you navigate the blood ocean, you will hear things through the hull and see things through the camera snapshots that defy easy explanation. Given recent events involving a submarine visit to the Titanic gone horribly wrong... The game has become tragically relevant.

FCG's vague description of a cave dwelling large one eyed monster with psionic powers sounds like a nothic mixed with an umber-hulk. Given what we know about Aeorians monster-breeding it's possible the creature was just as artificial as FCG. Dancer and her creations weren't randomly attacked but lured to a remote location where they could be assassinated by a living weapon.

It just always leads back to more questions about Dancer, huh? It's absolutely a possibility that rather than just a monster in the area, FCG + crew were attacked by some sort of artificial construct that was sent after them, the question is always just why? What did Dancer and her pack have that would make them a target, why did Dancer make FCG and the others in the first place, did Dancer even really make them?

I finally got a hardcopy version of the Lancer rpg core manual for my birthday! Which has me thinking about the Bell's Hells Lancer AU again. I wanted to say that I thought Imogen was a HORUS Manticore pilot because both she and the mech can do lightning bolts and have Apocalyptic Potential. But your choice of pairing her with SSC Morning Cloak makes sense: both can teleport short distances and have a troubling lineage connected to cosmic forces beyond mortal comprehension.

Tbh, I just skimmed thru the manual and most of my thought process when designing it just go, "Wouldn't it look cool if her mech have this?" No thoughts, as long as it's cool
